Salisa,

Different astrologers will say different things. Personally, I always count the points (Ascendant, Descendant, nodes etc.) when looking for aspect patterns. So you DO have a Grand Sextile in your chart (in my opinion! ).

Aspectationally,

Tim

If you considered all the people with the Grand Sextiles invalving there AC and or DC it would be consider more of an average aspect pattern?

Salisa,

Even including the points in the chart, the Grand Sextile is pretty rare. Those who have it have the ability to use ALL their chart energy (instead of simply focusing in one area or another of their chart, as most people do). The challenge is that there is no natural "focus" to these people's energies and so they can become scattered (since they can do anything they set their mind to do, they may want to try to do EVERYTHING!). Use your energy wisely!

And welcome back to the list!

Grandly,

Tim

Tim,

What is the name for those points? Luminaries are the actual heavnely bodies right? So the points are just called points?

Tim, would you still take into consideration a Grand Sextile if one of the points is Ceres and one is the ASC/Pallas.. the rest are planets

Thank you!

beebuddy,

What I am calling "points" are the Ascendant, Nadir, Descendant, Midheaven, South node, and North node. I call these points because they are calculated "points" on a chart and are different from planets, which are actual physical objects in a chart. Luminaries are the two planets which "light up" the sky: Sun and Moon.

Explaining,

Tim

Lauren,

My attitude towards asteroids is: if you add enough of them to a chart you can get ANY aspect pattern you want! So I avoid all asteroids in interpretations. This is NOT to say that other astrologers would not include asteroids: many do. But for me...less is more! And, as explained to Beebuddy, "points" (as I use the term) are NOT actual physical bodies (such as planets or asteroids).

Keeping it simple,

Tim

Hi Tim, you mentioned Nadir. My Ceres is on Nadir.. Nadir is the 4th house cusp right? I think astro.com calls it IC. It's kinda interesting, because I have Vesta on MC.. Pallas on ASC..and Ceres on Nadir lol

So if I count the ASC and Nadir, instead of ASC and Ceres, I'm getting the same aspect.

astro.com doesn't count IC aspects though, so I always thought those aspects wouldn't be too important. Thanks for clearing that up!
