So. My question is...how do you tell what kind of art (dance, music, theatre, etc.) that a person is likely to be involved in (if any) by the birthchart?

For instance, would Mars in Pisces or the 12th House be a good indication of a dancer? Would Jupiter or Venus in the 10th be an indication of an actor? Would the Moon in Gemini or the 3rd House indicate a writer? Etc, etc, etc.

Or are there even aspects, too?

(Okay, to be real, we're registering for classes when we come back from the break, and I have to drop one of my art areas, and I'm trying each and every way I can to decide which one to drop [writing, acting, flute].

We're working on A Midsummer Night's Dream right now, and I have a big dancing part [I'm part of the ensemble], and the lady who's choreographing the dances wants me to take a dance class with her next year...so that's just an extra art to decide on... )

It's probably more accurate to see an actual Chart.

But you said, "writing, acting, or flute".

I'll say from my personal observations, writing is usually hard to resist if you have Gemini Sun, Moon or Mercury. If the Sun or Moon is in the 3rd House, and a lot of Libra influences can sometimes do it too.

Acting is usually a BIG dream for Sagittarians with an Aquarius Moon. Actors can come in many astrological combinations. There is usually NOT a lot of "domestic" influences when it comes to the Houses. Strong Planets in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 9th, 11th and/or 12th Houses would like acting. The MC (Midheaven) in Leo or Sagittarius can encourage it.

Flute is more difficult to say, but I'd say that Taurus, Cancer, Libra or Pisces Sun, Moon or Venus. If the Sun, Moon or Venus is in too "boisterous" a Sign, it would probably diminish the effect. For example, an Aries Sun, Moon or Venus would probably not pursue flute for very long.

Nothing is written in stone here. They are just some ideas I thought about. It's easier to see a Chart.

I love to paint or just sketch…it’s healing. We have a beautiful Steinway, tho really only me and my Aqua brother use it…music is also healing. I have a Pisces Sun, He’s got a Pisces Venus.

Haha. I hate the fact that I have so many academic classes to take. I won't use half the stuff they make us take. (When am I ever going to have to know that elements are composed of atoms in the real world? Or how to find the angles of a triangle?)

Bam.

Thanks for bring this up, this is one of my favorite topics. I brought up a similar topic years ago because I noticed that many of my visual arts friends have one planet in Aries. Not alot just one or two. It seems that a chart with water and a little fire or a chart with fire and a little water helps boost creativity. I think each chart could show creativity in different ways. Check out J.K. Rowling and Tolkien's charts - a definite mercury influence.
You said this is an extra art to decide on... I know it's difficult deciding on art classes (I've been there) but I think you need to find some quiet time and do what your heart leads you to do now. Let your intuition guide you rather than astrology because I sense your looking for a rational answer outside of yourself rather than looking within. I wish I did this back then. I t would have saved me many headaches and worries.

Thanks for posting your Wheel. Of those 3 choices of artistic pursuits I tend to think acting would work in the longrun. Flute would work if you are aiming for the very top, such as aiming for a serious orchestra.

Of course it's up to you, but that's my take. Hope it works out smoothly.

Haha, thank you for your input, astro junkie.

Flute is more of a hobby, I guess. I've been doing it since I was 8. I would never consider it in the long run, though. It's too stressful. Music in general is stressful for me. But I still enjoy it.

Oh, it's so difficult, isn't it? You have to decide what to take, and when, if at all. Sacrificing your arts for the academics because the world says you'll never go anywhere without knowing how to calculate area or to dissect a frog, even though you know that knowing how to perform well will carry you further. Ugh. hahaha

Nove, don't knock the sciences. I originally did and I can tell you I was sorry afterwards that I did!! I spent a lot of time trying to recuperate that lost learning later on. Aim to do the best you can in all your subjects.

When it comes to focusing on one subject, weigh up which you like doing the best and which you are best at. I am talented at both art and music but it looks like I will have more success with my art because unless you are really technically proficient, really hip, or really good-looking, there aren't many options regarding music. I was in limbo for a long time but at least I know which way to turn now.

Haha, I might not if I could actually learn science in high school. I go to an Arts school, so science isn't a real big priority.

Let me put it this way. I could pay attention everyday all year for three years (the required sciences), take meticulous notes, and I'd still fail the science portion of the ACT or SAT...It's crap.

Plus...I don't understand physical sciences. It's just like...woah, beyond me. Biology, anatomy, that type stuff I get, but it's borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.

I try just hard enough to get a good grade. But it makes me want to go to sleep.

Didn't/don't you have magnet schools where you are???

My school's all right.

Way too many drugs, though.
