Hello, I found Love Signs almost ten years ago and for some reason it has taken me until 2006 to find this forum. I've read and purchased around fifty astrology books during that decade and the main question I've always longed to discover, or ask an advanced and trusted astrologer is....
Is it possible to create a chart or charts, using your own chart as a starting point, to determine a good and long lasting match for a marriage? I don't mind a few conflicts or tough aspects but I'm starting to wonder if the nature of my chart is too conflicted for marriage.
The Venus in Cap retro has this Venus/Saturn girl wondering if I should just give up on romantic love altogether... I welcome a variety of opinions, thoughts, and information.
And since you all are here at this site, I already know that it is Very Nice To Meet ALL Of You!

It sounds as if you want to want to have some sort of "relationship guarantee"!  Unfortunately, there IS no guarantee with relationships. Astrology can help you find the relationships with the most promise for happiness, but it takes BOTH people working on the relationship to make it happen. And not everybody is interested in relationships! If you don't have energy focused in the 7th house (relationships) or have Uranus (friends, also independence) in aspect to Venus (relationships) you may not be interested in long-term relationships. If you have a lot of energy focused in the 5th house (self-expression, also dating), you may be more interested in dating than relating! And there are other examples. So the most important thing is to understand YOUR likes and dislikes FIRST and then, if you want to, find someone who is willing to put up with them! Relating, Tim ------------------

Hi Tim, thanks for the reply.
I'd like to stress that although I consider myself an amateur when you consider all there is to know and understand about astrology, I have studied my own chart, the charts of others, and have done a lot of basic synastry comparisons. I have a basic understanding of Uranus aspects and 7th house aspects etc, and I understand that astrology does not offer "guarantees."
I am interested in learning if there are computer programs or reputable astrologers who use these programs who are able to create charts based on favorable aspects without the time consuming and endless aspect comparisons. My own time consuming comparisons lead me to believe that I might have to look for someone much older or younger to avoid major conflicts, but I don't fully understand how to integrate all of the aspects and how to weigh each aspect, so I would like to look into getting a professional comparison. However, I won't waste my money or time on recieving a chart that I could make for myself.
I do appreciate your comments and insight and if you would like to add anything else, please do.  ------------------

Hello, and welcome, MysticMelodyI am not certain that I know of any method through which an astrologer creates an "ideal partner" chart for an individual. However- there may be astrologers out there who do this and the only way to know for certain is to look up astrologers in your area and ask them if they offer this service. The way I understood your post was that you are trying to get a sense of what kind of partner would be ideal for you. You mentioned that you think your chart may be "too conflicted for marriage"-
my thoughts on this are: perhaps it is possible for aspects to indicate that marriage would be difficult, but this does not mean that you can throw love out the window as well. Are you open to "unconventional" matches/relationships? Perhaps marriage is not for you- but do you think you would be happy in a different sort of arrangement? Back to your original question- as I mentioned, I don't know of a method through which to create an ideal partner chart, but there are countless indications in your birth chart of what kind of partner you want/need.
Any professional astrologer could give you this information, but I'm sure you could study it yourself.. but, I see that you've read many astrology books so I'm sure you have already looked into this. I'm not sure how much this will help you, but below is a link to a great astrology website with a lot of information on compatibility:

P.S. "negative" aspects can create some of the most powerful bonds...
this is the trouble with trying to find a mate based on favourable aspects. It seems to me that for some individuals, tensions are necessary before true love can happen, and for others, it's all about the smooth ride.
It's risky business when you take these matters into your own hands. I'm not saying that being passive is the answer, but it has always seemed to me that Life has a way of bringing individuals into our lives and that when we go out hunting for what we imagine is our ideal mate, we end up empty-handed,
or unhappy with a partner that we thought was ideal.love seems to happen in the strangest places sometimes, between individuals that matchmakers using traditional astrology would never think to put together. Maybe that is why I like astrology so much-
it can show me where the tensions may arise and this helps me be more patient and understanding, working through the difficulties. I would rather have a ton of squares and oppositions with my partner and build a love that is genuine.. though it may have taken battles to get there..
than have an easy ride with somebody that I am compatible with, but not crazy about
"fond but not in love" ugh..
P.P.S. And I'm not saying that love can't happen between individuals with great astrological compatibility..

WhiteRabbit, you said just the thing I needed to hear. Of course, you are right... what was I thinking? I want someone strong enough to grow with me, not an easy and dull relationship... but all growth all the time is pretty rough on the soul as well. How about just enough favorable aspects to have a chance to grow together!? hehe
I just get frustrated when I finally find a few good aspects and then discover that the very energy that aspects my Sun and Venus well, then negatively aspects my Moon, Asc and usually my Mercury.
Back in the day when I picked up Love Signs and read what Linda had to say, I thought, well who needs a Trine! I don't want "dull" but years later after the wear and tear of non-dull, I am ready for at least a little dull. Still, what you said is really vibrating well within me. I think your little push put me back on track.
