anyway I have Virgo ASC along with my Sun and Mercury in Virgo....hehe I can be really picky, and hard on myself and most people see me as cold but I'm actually very warm and intensely loyal

I have a Virgo Ascendant, too.

I don't know. My Virgo Ascendant seems to outshine everything else. I'm very picky (even to the point where I can't eat my food if it touches). I'm very organized, and I like to clean other people's things. But I'm a bit of a slob, really. I practice good hygeine, but I can't be bothered to pick up towels off the floor, or keep papers in a nice little stack. They go everywhere.

People tend to see me as cold, stuck-up, arrogant, and just plain mean before they meet me.

I have a Gemini Rising and I am always friendly to people. I cannot help it, unless somebody was unking for some reason, I could then turn a bit cold. Generally I like talking to people and can be so so chatty and can make people feel at ease. I find I can do two things at the one time; cannot help it. Hope this helps.

I have Sagittarius rising!
I am extremely, extremely clumsy. I bump into things constantly
I have very long, well shaped legs. I am a ballet dancer and my strong legs serve me well.
I spend four to seven hours a day dancing and if i'm not dancing around I have very nervous energy.
I am very enthusiastic. I usually find myself saying ce la vie or something like that. My optimism is a good thing because I have a cancer sun and moon.
I LOVE being outside (especially in the mountains)
I love animals..especially dogs.

i love this and i hate this...
it creates a huge personality conflict.
i am a cancer with sun & moon in the 12th house so i really consider myself a very emotional and kind of closed off and extremely insecure person. but my leo rising makes people think i am fiery, confident and happy. which is not my true self. it is rather decieving.
it also makes me incredibly attention-seeking. i hate this. my cancer & 12th house influence makes me want to retreat and be alone, but my leo makes me want to be in the spotlight. so when i am alone, a part of me is itching to be with people, and when i am with people, i am itching to be alone.

I ask a lot of questions, always curious and never take anything at face value. Tend to have more restless, nervous energy than most people I know...and it's not helped by the Aquarius in my chart. With me people never know who they're going to meet. One day I can be as meek as a mouse you won't know Im there. The next I can be a rabble rousing punk, or the sweetest thing since sugar.

I also have leo rising and am a cancer, 11th house. I don't feel the personality conflict that much, but it struck me when you said you want to want to be alone when among others and then want to be around others when alone. I do that ALOT.

The thing I do like about the Leo rising is that it gives me the ability to at least SEEM confident around others, and in my line of work that's very important.

I was thinking about this the other day and wondered where that little daring leo was when I was a child because I was SUCH a lone and quiet cancer baby. Then read on another thread here that you kind of grow into your rising sign, which made sense to me. I see my rising sign as an incredibly useful tool in negotiating my day to day life.

I have pisces ascendent, and I don't like it much. The only good points are that it adds beauty & spirituality.

Plus, pisceans are usually very nice, so it helps me be nice to everyone. Sometimes too nice

The only thing is that I get the confusion and lack of remembering traits...

I don't like my cancer rising. With my sun and moon, its like being bound up and gagged from the inside. Quiet ascendant, loud sun and moon. It makes me awkward, but then again it gives me my ascendant/neptune opposition, which is good if channeled properly.

Mine is Sagittarius (Sun, Mars & Jupiter too, so I'm pretty fiery, but come across as reserved - must be my Mercury in Scorpio watching and waiting).

I'm also the first to introduce myself if no one else is
I'm clumsy, I can trip over an imaginary crack in the sidewalk, but also athletic and with long legs
My hips are my weak spot and have probs w/my sciatic nerve a lot
I look like a Sag...usually smiling with an alert expression, I never miss anything
Always have to be moving in some way, physically or mentally

One thing - I'm not as blunt as I used to be and actually think before I speak.

I have my Sun in Aries, Moon in Sagittarius, and then to top it off - my Ascendant in Virgo.

It can be pretty stifling sometimes. I feel guilty when I express my Sag. or Arian traits.

Or maybe that's my Sun Sq. Neptune/Saturn.

Yah cappy rising, which usually means I take things too seriously, or worry about what others may think. I am a hard person to read and takes a lot for people to get to know me.
It gives me good attention to detail, and balances the over emotions of my aries sun and pices moon conjunct mars!
so in the end a much needed aspect to my chart.
It gives me good persistance, and the ability to take on many challenges, and desire to take control... and be over controlling until Pisces kicks in!!!!

I totally relate to some of the sentiment, as well as downright confusion,shared here.
I'm a basically shy and sensitive Cancer with an Aquarius Rising and Sagittarius Moon who also happens to have Leo in Venus and North Node in Scorpio
Guess that's okay outwardly, but somewhat scary for my inner crab self ! Makes me want to crawl back into my shell sometimes!
But you know, I do enjoy basking in the sun with rest of humanity,too...
