hey AJ,i've had experience with this placement, both in my friendships and in my romantic relationships.
in my last relationship, my jupiter fell into my partner's (G) 1st house. i culled some information on the internet about this placement:
You stimulate each other’s interest in philosophy, religion and spirituality, education, law, travel and foreign cultures. The mutual respect between you bolsters your self-confidence and helps heal your mind, body and soul. If you share a household, you’ll work together to create a home environment that promotes harmony and cooperation among family members. Jupiter will be protective of and generous toward the 1st house person. The 1st house person greatly respects Jupiter and encourages Jupiter to put his/her beliefs into everyday practice. If Jupiter is heavily afflicted in the natal chart, the Jupiter person may demand more than the 1st house person can provide.
my girlfriend from college (A) and i share this placement mutually (my jupiter falls in her 1st house and vice versa). i think we are extremely supportive of each other, exceptionally so. i always kind of thought jupiter had something to do with this. i have this other girlfriend (N) who i see on a more frequent basis (A is a very busy woman so we see each other infrequently), and we don't share any outstanding jupiter contacts. i don't think our relationship is nearly as supportive as my relationship with A, and we (N & i) even share some outstanding synastry -- my sun conjuncts her moon and vice versa; my AC conjuncts her NN and vice versa. in fact, even though my relationship with N is very vital and dynamic, there's a certain amount of friction that would probably be abated if we had some strong jupiter stuff going on.
my relationship with A is filled with fun and light. i always told A she was like a "balm to my soul", and as cheesy as that sounds, i really mean it. she concurs.
my synastry with A would probably be called challenging too, as opposed to what i share with N (astrologers usually spaz out over mutual sun conjunct moon & mutual AC conjunct NN). i shared very similar synastry with the partner i mentioned above, G. A & G both have virgo suns which oppose my pisces sun (and fall on my 12th house pluto, in G's case, exactly on my pluto). G had a gemini moon which opposes my sag moon by sign (it didn't oppose by degree, our moons were actually 165° apart). A has a leo moon which opposes my aqua venus.
i digress though, i just meant to make a point about how ive discovered what is considered near perfect synastry definitely doesn't have anything on strong jupiter contacts -- i think they help build relationships that are built on support, encouragement, maturity, growth, expansion, love.
(i guess i should mention here i had other really strong, reinforcing jupiter contacts with A & G, not just the 1st house placements. for instance, with G i had a venus-jupiter conjunction among a few others and with A i have a moon-jupiter trine.)
i really hope this helps!
sincerely,
chrissy
