Hi guys

My good Aquarius friend has his birthday coming up, and I don't know what to get him as a gift.
One thing I have ruled out is NOT to buy him a bottle of alcohol.
I don't want to ask him, as he will then feel obliged OR he will try to talk me out of it.I want it as a surprise.
He is turning 52.

Any ideas?

I would say video games, but I'm not so sure at 52.

I'd say, books on science or philosophy. A really awesome sci-fi movie. Some sort of novelty item.

good reply lynx. my aqu man is 56, in the medical field and loves science, Star Trek, Star Wars, gadgets, computers, anything to do with high tech. my wierd wacky ways also intrigue him, like my love of astrology, the occult, star gazing, the planets in general. all he wears is green and blue. there you go yang. the aquarians i have known are into all of the above, although some may not admit it! good luck!

What is he interested in? What does he do when he's not working? Fitness? Hobbies? Art? What subjects does he like to read?

Most Aquas I know are really into computers, and movies. Well-traveled.

Where is his moon? The moon represents your needs, what you seek for fulfillment.

Aquas like astrology because it helps them probe people objectively without even having to know them. I'd say get him a really cool book that deals with how to 'read' people or something, maybe handwriting analysis or something like reading body language or something. Or some 'hot' scientific subject, like chaos theory or biological engineering or a subscription to a science magazine or something. Maybe a good biography of a noted scientist? I don't know, is he the type of aqua who spends hours alone in his room trying to split the atom, or a socialite type of aqua who likes to goof off and go crazy with his friends or both? An artist or a mechanic? It all depends.

You'll probably be chuckling to yourself when you carry home your silly Aquarian present- but mark my word's; they'll love it.
Aquarius Astrogifts: Any gadget no matter how silly. A digital watch. A telescope (many astrologers are Aquarians). A portable TV (and ditto, many Aquarians work in the media). A writing set. (They love to communicate). Anything bought from organisations such as Oxfam or the World-wide Fund for Nature (Aquarians are humanitarians and Eco-warriors)

Try gift ideas they offer there:

What is he obsessed with?

(I ask this because it seems that Uranians are usually obsessed with at least one thing - for mine, it's VW Bugs and the Ramones. Don't mistake one of their "crushes" - something that they make it their life's mission to learn everything about, learn about it, and then having mastered it let it fall into the background - for their obsession.)

Play to his obsession, no matter how idiosyncratic it is.

Failing that, some gadget's always a good bet.

I once gave an Aquarius man a little brass statue of a unicorn. I told him its name was Oberon and that each day at dawn it runs into the waves of the sea and the currents wash away its age, allowing it to remain perpetually young. I told him as long as he held Oberon's story in his heart, the waves and the unicorn would help him stay young at heart and as joyous as a child. That was well over 20 years ago and he still has it. He keeps it beside his bed so he will see it first thing when he wakes and remember to stay young for another day.

Its not a gadget, but it worked.

You know what I realize about Aqua men is that they love things that are not ordinary for gifts. I gave an ex of mine whose an Aqua, I gave him a fleece blanket, but you could roll it up like a sleeping bag it came with two clips and a handle so you could carry it. It was very odd I must admit it too, but he loved it. Even later he was still thanking me telling me that he liked it.
I think bc it was so different is why he liked it so much. Now I see those blankets all the time, back then they had just came out...

So anything unique, like what fishkitten described was unique..And if he has placements like Sag moon or Sag Asc or maybe Sag in Mars he will have it forever..

That settles it, thanks guys, I am going to buy him a book. And I have narrowed it down to two genres: reference-typebook or a book on the English language. He LOVES English.
I was thinking of buying him a photography book but then realised how expensive they are. ANd definitely NOT a dig.camera
Peri He DOES work in the media.

My aqua hubby had his birthday on Saturday and I got him a subscription to an aviation magazine. He looooved it. Perfect for an aqua with a saggie moon training to be a pilot!

But yes, like others have said, play up to what they are obsessed with. There is always something!

How about this flying machine...

So he can drive around this city ...

And lock in on the GPS location of this fully automated, coin-operated ...

Before heading out to his therapy session with ...

So he can go on his date with ...

Glad you have it figured out, Yang.

I'd like to add for future reference that clothing and jewelry isn't a good idea.

When people buy me jewelry, 99% of the time, they get it wrong. I like weird jewelry and I have my own idea of what that is. And with clothing, if it's not a good color or it's not my style, I hate it but feel obligated to wear it. Then I feel like the outfit is clashing with my identity.

Sorry to tag on the tail coat of this thread so to speak, but any ideas what to get an Aqua man for Valentine's Day? One with a retrograde Venus in Aqua not to mention Sun, Moon and Mars there too!
Any ideas gratefully received!

I'm an Aqua with a retro Venus in Aqua conjunct my Sun, Cardinal. Take into account what I've said and what we've all said.

Of course, I'm not a male Aquarian, so I'm not sure what men want but I know what Aquarians want.

If ya want to see a romantic movie, I'd recommend Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. By far my favorite. It's romantic, meaningful, unique, scientific and cerebral. Also? Jim Carrey in a romantic role is quite a sight to see. LOL.

Nighttime boat trip where we can look at the stars or observe the water.

Wierd food n a wierd place.

Trip to the aquarium to see the dolphins. Any museum is great. Technology expo.

Alien abductions. Coffee enemas. Good stuff.

When the Aquarius and I were together, I have him his favorite men's cologne that had been discontinued and the only place that had it was someone on Ebay...it meant a lot to him since he loves the scent and is really hard to find...

This Aqua also likes ANYTHING related to the latest technology - he owns a GPS that he can connect up in his car, he was one of the first to buy an iPOD when they came out in colors, PDA, you name it, he has it. It doesn't help that he's in sales with a degree in electronics engineering. He's a genius but hides it with usual Aqua style.

.....and tell him how much you value his friendship and if you are able, tell him how much you love him...

Isnt that worth far more than any material object now?

For me
All I need is for my friends and family to be around.
Gifts are great an' all that but not necessary
The fact that someone thought of me is enuff

Sun=Aqua
Asc- Pisces
Moon- Cap

For Valentines CardinalGal I seriously doubt he will be bothered, hes probably too busy wondering how to spoil you...

If someone really feels the need to buy me a present I always say BOOKS! We love to read and consume knowledge
