red,

You asked:

quote:
Mars (in Scorpio) conjunct my MC- does anyone has the same position or has any interpretation?

Scorpio modifying Mars conjunct Midheaven
is
Scorpio (transformation, also power, control) modifying Mars (being, also action) conjunct Midheaven (outer world)

This indicates that you have an active need to be in control of your world, it also indicates a tendency to take a lot of actions in the outer world. As you indicate, these actions can also be used athletically (as in dancing and rollerskating).

Taking action,

Tim

Anyone wanna tell me about Jupiter (Cancer) conjunct MC (Gemini) means?

Haha, I'd love to know what kind of a career I should have.

Hi Red!

Yep, I have a stellium in my 10th house, haven't found a good interpretation of that either! I do love my new skates, maybe that is the mars connection -- LOL!
Do you skate outdoors or where?

Nove,

You asked:

quote:
Anyone wanna tell me about Jupiter (Cancer) conjunct MC (Gemini) means?

Cancer modifying Jupiter (expansion, also wisdom, traveling, law) conjunct (energy is combined with) Gemini (thinking, also writing) modifying Midheaven (outer world) indicates you like to be expansive out in the world, traveling, and perhaps are interested in legal matters, all the time writing and thinking about everything!

The answer-guy,

Tim

quote:
With Mars in H10 a person projects himself through his career and is likely to bring a competitive attitude to this area of his life. A person with Mars in H10 has to do things in his own way and is confident of his own abilities. He is happier therefore wielding authority than submitting to it, which probably accounts for the tense relationship a person with this placement so commonly has with both colleagues and superiors. Mars in H10 is frequently insubordinate. A person with this placement is likely to have experienced his Father as a forceful personality and learnt his own assertiveness, as much through resisting the Father’s regime, as by copying his example.

Mars in the 10th House: You give the best of yourself when you compete hard in the pitiless world of business where your ambition and combativeness work wonders.

(down here is an article from Moses Siregrar site, I don't have the link anymore)

The Midheaven has some very interesting elements to it, but the Midheaven and the 10th house are not necessarily synonymous. The Midheaven is the cusp of the 10th house in most, but not all, Western house systems. I'll discuss the Midheaven below as well.

The Essence:

Dedication to social responsibility and/or working hard as an individual has its rewards: success, fame, and recognition (though not necessarily money).

Here are some of the affairs of the 10th house:

Career: Simply, the 10th house can tell us a great deal about someone's career. Descriptively, it can tell us how we go about our work. Concretely, it can tell us how successful and stable we are likely to be in our careers. It can tell us about assets that we possess and the obstacles in our career paths.

Fame and Recognition: The 10th house does not tell us how much recognition our personality will tend to get in social situations (the 1st house tells us that), but it does tell us about the recognition that our work is likely to give us. It is possible to have a powerful social charisma (1st), but little fame (weak 10th). It is also possible to be meek as a mouse (weak 1st), but be incredibly famous (10th).

Transits to the 10th house will affect the above matters in hard or expansive ways, depending on the aspect involved, and the planets and signs involved. Transits through the 10th will mark times where independent hard work is highlighted. It is as if those times are times when we are fated to give back to our communities through hard work and service; however this hard work in the 10th normally also comes with a large share of social and public recognition.

The Midheaven signifies at least two very interesting things:

Moving: Time and time and time again I have seen moving related to the Midheaven more so than any other part of the chart (such as the 4th house). The planets involved will give a good sense of what the move is about, i.e., Jupiter could be moving to a fun, leisurely place or for these reasons; Saturn could be moving for career, work, or dutiful reasons. Another ingredient of the Midheaven is "where are you going in life?" and this of course fits in with this theme of moving.

Learning to have the Confidence to Project Certain Qualities to Others: The Midheaven can show us important evolutionary needs, particularly things that we are working on learning how to express comfortably to others socially with confidence or clarity.

Great info Alma-Noble
thanks!

quote:
...The Midheaven, and the location of its ruling planet, is usually thought to indicate the kind of vocation one will grow into. One might think that this would be true, since the Midheaven is the tenth house cusp, but I have not found this to be true with any worthwhile accuracy. I have found the M.C. to be one of the most misunderstood aspects of astrology. Rather than seeming to predict and relate to vocation, I have found the M.C. to be one of the major components of one's basic personal projection... I have also found that the M.C. represents qualities that we are learning to have the confidence to project to others. As such it indicates personal qualities and character traits that one must grow into during one's life...

Those responses are great and very interesting! I had read before that the 10th house has to do with career -- what does it mean when you have a lot of planets in #10?
I have Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto all conjuct my MC--........ I'm not sure how to put all of that together in any cohesive way!

I agree that the MC is misunderstood. Mine has Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto conjunct Virgo-and most interpretations don't tell me a thing.

Virgo is about sewing, and cutting. I draw, paint, hack, cut, and wash items and call it art. The more abstract the better the response-I also design for theatre sets, and a country western star recently hired me to design a set (in pink) for her video. I have no idea how she heard of me.

I take inspiration from old homes, workshops, other artists, museums, abandoned objects. People always trust me in regard to art objects, furniture, sheets, draperies, paintings anything.

So I take the trust seriously.

Jupiter does make me love fun cities, Paris, London, NYC, Boston, Los Angeles, I prefer to live in a large city, and travel as much as possible.

Uranus did get me to study programming, and I am good at math.

But Pluto must be the wild card, as I do have a hard time focusing.

Any other interpretations are welcome for Pluto.
I do want to go back to work for global services in banking, or for the court system while I go to law school part time. (I am interviewing now).

Another thing is my career sucks when I'm in love.

We have almost identical planets conjunct to the MC, mine is also Virgo! I also love art and traveling, as well. My trip to London last year is my favorite, if only I had endless money to travel there often! Same here, when in love -- career is in trouble.. I can only focus and obsess over one major area at a time........haha

Red, I have also been skating since I was a kid and I love it! I almost completed a degree in elem. education before I realised I didn't want to do that ..... so I have worked in the staffing industry but right now I am at a crossroads and want to take a different direction and do something meaningful I enjoy.......

Hi All!

Some people (if I can find the site again, I'll post it) believe that the MC is a facet of your character-what you are like.
For example, since my MC is in 00 Pisces, I appear more Piscean in character.

I think this is really interesting. I do appear this way to myself. For instance I have been at one time or another interestein psychology/counseling, music, art, acting, etc. In fact, I still am!

Anyway, I have PLuto and Mars trine the Midheaven.

Is this similar to having Mars or PLuto in the 10th house? Or similar to Mars being conjunct as the original poster asked??

Thanks!
