If a person were to have an abundance of planets in the first house or conj. the Ascendant (like more than 2). Would this hint at a ounce of self obsession. Not necessarily in a bad way. But I mean..The first house has to deal with the self/personality, right? Well if an abundance of planets are in the first house or near the ascendant, doesn't that just draw more energy to that house in general? So in one of the worst case scenarios could it lead to a form of complete selfishness and self obsession? Regardless of what planets are there? I mean with the Sun there it could be more obvious than say, Neptune there but overall would the potential still remain? I was just wondering because I've got Sun, Venus and Pluto in my first house. As well as some ASC conjunctions. And a lot of times, I get called selfish, self obsessed, and self centered, when in my mind I don't mean to be, it's just that I tend to be more "me" focused than other people. That doesn't mean I don't care about anyone else of course, it just means that I look out for my best interest as well as everyone elses. Sort of...instead of putting everyone before myself, I make sure we're lined up together. I mean, is this normal of someone with a lot of 1st house focus or am I just letting my sun get to me?

I have wondered the same thing...I have both Mars and the sun in the 1st house as well as 3 conjunctions sun/mars/and asc are all in cancer. I have been called self absorbed, self centered...and what ever else you want to add. I like being in the center of attention, along with the fact that I am pretty much the only child (my sister was 14 years older than me)...so it has always been about what I want. But yeah I think people with a big 1st house influence are more "me" centered than say someone with a 7th house influence. IP: Logged |

Iam a Aries sun, with a cancer Asc. and the moon in cancer in my first house cusp.Pluto in the first house can alter the asc. and give more scorpio qualities. IP: Logged |

i know sun in the 1st is self centered but I mean like..if you had saturn, jupiter, mars and say neptune in the 1st house for instance. even though by nature all of those planets in the 1st house wouldnt make you typically "self-centered"- would all that 1st house influence as a whole make you more "me" driven which in turn to other people would make you seem more self centered?
it's kind of like saying if someone had a ton of planets in the 7th house, would they seem as if their life experiences/problems revolve around relationships? would they seem as if that's all they talk about? would they appear very libran even if their Sun or the signs their planets are in aren't in Libra at all?

I have Neptune in Sagittarius in the first, along with my Scorpio Moon, with the Ascendant. It does make me very very focused on myself, but more subconciously with these placements. I would say yes the energy becomes centered on onself, but the expression of that doesn't always have to lead to selfishness. That is a choice. Swerve IP: Logged |

I focus so much on myself it’s terrible. But I’m not bad, or selfish. I care deeply…and hide it well and I’m also very giving with my time and energy. I do favours for everyone. From babysitting, animal sitting, chauffeur when they‘re drunk and lost , appointment reminder, appointment maker sometimes, personal shopper, personal stylist, personal hair stylist no one wants me for their make-up artist because I’m bad at it I barely wear make-up anyway…and that’s my excuse. I’ve dropped kids off at school for family friends, I’m usually the first person that’s called when someone need to go to the hospital. And I do all this without complaining IP: Logged |

I know someone that has Uranus and pluto in the 1st... also True node Leo and is Leo rising... he is very selfish at times.. and admits it but...like you alanabelle, he is a Scorpio.. so it is also that self-preservation thing....All his planets fall in houses 1-6.... He often complains of his lack of friends... but that is sometimes a Scorp thing too IP: Logged |

What would you conclude about someone with a 1st House Aries Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and North Node, but Libra Moon in the 7th? If it's of relevance, his Moon Sign trines Mars by a 3 degree orb and squares Uranus by 4. IP: Logged |

Is it true that Cancer Rising natives with Moon in the 1st House are against marriage and having kids? IP: Logged |

I'm very curious about people who have opposing energies in their charts. Is a Moon Sign on its own strong enough to "dominate" or "equalize" a house stellium? How's your Aries Moon aspected? Which house is it in? Also, is it true that those with 7th House signatures can't live without being in a relationship? Or is your Aries Moon strong enough to cancel that Libran trait out? My 1st House Mars dominates my 1st House Venus and makes me quite self-focused indeed. IP: Logged |

Leo-Cancer98, I remember during my childhood how my sister kept saying she will not marry and does not want to have children. She is in her late forties and did not get marry and does not have any children. I checked her chart and see The Moon conjunct Saturn in the 1st house. My daughter keeps saying the same thing from an early age like my sister . My daughter's Ascendant Cancer and the Moon in Scorpio ( 4th house ), Sun in 0Ari12'25"(9th house ). Sun conjunct Mercury( Mercury29Pis29'4"). Interesting ! L.G.

I know someone with a Sun in the 1st house. To be fair to the guy, I don't think he is aware of how much he is in love with himself, lol. You know that Shakespearean phrase all the world's a stage? He is the protagonist, the tragic hero, the one who has to overcome all odds to get to where he is now, ad nauseum. We dated for a short while and after he called it off, he said sadly while staring out of the window, "I think I will be alone for the rest of my life." 6 months later, he got into a relationship ("she is the love of my life"), but they couldn't be together because of religious reasons and it was "tearing us apart, PurpleBebe, I don't know what to do [stares out of the window]". Again, ad nauseum. People with Venus in 1st house delight me, though. They are beautiful and I enjoy telling them how beautiful they are, which they seem to accept gracefully and become more beautiful thereafter, for some reason. I am very enamored by them. My guy has that. He gets all shy and coy when I praise him and show him off, and my Moon in Aries - which loves all cute things in an aggressive way - can't stop getting worked up. IP: Logged |

I'm a Sag rising with Cap Sun conjunct Venus in 1st house. Never heard I'm beautiful. And I didn't own a mirror for some years. Only bought one bc it's easier to shave if you can see what you are doing.IP: Logged |

I have a bit of a stellium in my first house in Libra and am a bit obsessed with my self and self development. For me it's an obsession with how I interact with the world and how the world responds to me. I don't think I am selfish though -more self aware and introspective. I have Mars, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter (although Jupiter is in the 2nd) All in Rx.....le sigh
