How do you frame the difference between a Transit to a Natal Chart, vs. a Progession to a Natal Chart? Both can be cast for the same day, so how do you do that in your mind? Thanks.

Astro,

Personally I think of transits as things that happen in the "outer world" and only look at transits of the slow moving planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). I think of (secondary) progressions as things that happen in my "inner world" and only use the faster planets and points (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Ascendant, and Midheaven). Because the progressions take a LONG time to move, I tend to recognize their energy more easily and so don't focus on them as much. I focus more on the transits, particularly transits which conjunct the major points in the chart (Ascendant, Nadir, Descendant, and Midheaven).

Framing,

Tim
