Hello everyone!

I am wondering if people who are cusp signs have anything interesting to contribute to the topic? I am a Gemini-Cancer cusp girl (june 23) and I have always found that despite being a Cancer through and through (my ascendant and venus are also in Cancer) the fact that I am so close to the cusp has influenced me...or at least that's what I think. The other point is that I have a friend who is quite a good astrologer and he maintains that there is no such thing as a cusp personality. We've had many friendly debates over this and so I wondered about the opinions of others regarding this astrological idea. What are your experiences, thoughts, ideas and arguments to support (or negate) this?

I don't believe in cusps. I think the reason why cuspies believe they get both sign characteristics is because they usually have some inner planets from the other sign as well.

I'm an Aquarius-Pisces cusp (Feb 21) with Aqua Venus and Ascending.

I definitely feel like I connect mostly with my sun and my Libra moon. "Peace, love and understanding is my motto."

As for the cusp stuff, my Aquarius comes out in a high level social consciousness and causes. I'd save every stray animal if I could; regularly volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. And, I'm artistic and like to express my "uniqueness" in that way.

But, the cusp question is hard for me to answer, since I was raised by two Aqua parents (though my mom has never seemed very Aquarian to me). Quite simply, I may have picked up some Aqua traits by conditioning (even though it's on my cusp)... so, I don't know if it's inherent or environmental (for me, at least).

by the by, those with cuspal Suns are said to be drawn to other cuspal Suns, but especially those with complementary elements.

until science advances to the point where the planets' effects on the organism can be verified and quantified, many questions are simply unable to be answered objectively.

As with the debate between geocentric vs. sidereal astrology, the answer is unlikely to be at either extreme of the argument.

Here's one way to think of it. If you are "on the cusp" of Gemini-Cancer and have the Sun at 29 degrees 12 minutes Gemini (i.e., VERY close to Cancer), you may have Cancer tendencies but you are trying hard to STAY a Gemini. On the other hand, same situation but with the Sun at 0 degrees 48 minutes Cancer, you may have Gemini tendencies but you want to BECOME a Cancer. Of course, as it gets closer and closer to the "cut-off" point between one sign and another, it gets more confusing. However, while people can FOCUS on two different things (such as if someone's planets are between two houses), they tend to only use one ENERGY at a time (such as when someone's planets are between two signs). This is why planets at 29 degrees or 0 degrees of a sign are sometimes called "fate degrees"...because of the intensity of the person's expression of that planet's energy.

I'm a Capricorn/Aquarius cusp and there's no way in hell I wanna be a Cappie. No, no, no.

Of course, I have a lot in Aquarius and my south node is Cappie, so good riddens. :P

Love, I do believe in cusps, I have Venus at 29 Pisces and with a strong Pisces sun, both in the 4th I usually behave in a Venus in Pisces way, however, when an issue having to do with Venus things, love, romance, emotions, things of beauty is presented to me in an Arien way ie; impuslive, agressive, etc. I tend to react quite like the Venus in Aries. I amlost always "catch" myself and realize what is going on and go back to my watery venus ways quite naturally!

I think that people that are cusps would only know and can speak for themselves.

I am june 19 and know many gemini/cancer cusps. I also have many cusps of all types in my life.

You definitely see both qualities there.

I am July 19th-cusp of Cancer/Leo. 27 degrees of Cancer. Although my Venus is also in Leo ive always at times felt that Leo influence quite strongly. I do believe in cusps and seem to find that most of my GOOD friends are/have always been on the cusp... ie. March20th(bestfriend) .. NOv20th, Dec.23. etc...

tbone... my soon to be ex.. is a Cancer/Leo cusp also.. he is 29:58 of Cancer. July 22.
He is very Leo in some ways.. but he is definitely a cancer... its funny, but i am a Virgo/Leo cusp...8/24 and my best freind is a Pisces/Aries cusp... 3/19... so i agree that cusps attract.. but do believe that if the sun is in cancer.... you are a cancer...

i am DEFINATLEY cancer..thru and thru. ?With my Merc in Cancer and Moon In pisces- im a daydreamer, hopeless romantic, very intuitive/ emotional overly sensitive, homeloving, etc.. But do at times have quite a fe w Leo attributes.. dramatic, romantic, .etc. **So does anyone else believe that cusps attract cusps??? ???

LOL I'm a Cap/Aqu Sun cusp too, and not excited about the cap part either. There was a thread here talking about how this is an anaretic (sp?) position making the person having it feel that they're running out of time in the style of the sign the Sun is about to exit and maybe trying to get ahead by means of the next sign. That's at least in part true for me.

My mom's born on the 22nd of June and has her Sun at 0 degrees Cancer. She has all the Cancer traits but also loves reading books and making small talk a lot more than would be usual for a Cancer, so there's some Gem influence there (she has mercury conjunct venus in Gem as well).

I have Sag sun at 29 degrees conjuct Neptune and Jupiter.I definately feel conflicted at most times either to behave responsibly (cap way) or impulsively(sag way).

Most people I meet assume I am Scorpio though ,which I find funny.My ascendant is allso Aries/Taurus cusp opposite my Pluto libra/Scorpio and Chiron is allso on Taurus/Gemini.

I click very well with all people but sparks always fly with Sag for long term prospects. I have had many sexual encounters with Gemini and establish a beautiful friendship with Aquarius.It seems throughout my life these 3 signs are the only ones I am excessively exposed to.
