Hi everyone!
I am a beginner in astrology and I am trying to calculate my synastry, I´ve learnt the basics but I have a doubt, what is the relationship between a quincux and a semisextil?
I mean, my venus quincux his pluto, and his venus semisextil my pluto. It is this a double whammy opposition? I never know how to interprete quincux and semisextiles, you can get a lot of info about conjunctions, oppositions, squares...but how should I understand these aversion charts?
Thank you!

Ingrid,

You asked:

A "double whammy" is when an aspect is repeated between two people. For example if A's Venus trines another B's Pluto at the same time that B's Venus trined A's Pluto, that would be a "double whammy". Since you are comparing a "quincunx" to a "semisextile" (two different aspects), there can be no "double whammy".

Another name for the "quincunx" is the "inconjunct". The quincunx is an aspect of "adjustment". I don't use the semisextile, but one site describes it as being "mildly easy".

I have never heard the term "aversion chart" before. What is an "aversion chart"?

Whamming,

Tim

Hi!

I saw the term "aversion" in this website,in "synastry introduction" at the very end:
http://www.astrology-x-files.com/synastry/

It is kind of weird because aversion in spanish means hatred...

Thank you for your info! And what happen in these cases? why there is no info about these charts, it doesn´t mean anything?
I couldn´t find it! Could you give me your opinion about these chart or there is nothing to say about it because it is not square or trine or any other?

Thank you again!

Ingrid,

Astrology x-files is about ancient astrology tends to take a "good/bad" approach to chart interpretation: your aspects are either good or bad, there is no "gray area". An example is "aversion charts" which are bad according to this approach to astrology. A modern approach is to look at the development potential of the more challenging aspects. So a "quincunx" is an aspect, not of "aversion" (i.e., bad) but instead of "adjustment": there is a need to make some type of adjustment between the two energies. Looked at in this way, a quincunx forces the two energies to "get along" with each other.

Looking at your Venus (relationships) quincunx (energy needs to be adjusted by) his Pluto (transformation, also power), indicates that you need to make power adjustments in the relationship. Usually this indicates he (the Pluto person) needs to be careful about "overpowering" you.

Quincunxing,

Tim

In Magi Society web, they said that quincunx is as important as trine. They do not consider semisextile either.

Anyway, My Venus qunicunx His Sun. Can you explain the forcing energy here?

Thanks

Ingrid,

If you have spent a lot of time on Astrology X-files and you are getting something out of it, great! I, also, spent a lot of time on ancient astrology, but it only confused me and didn't seem appropriate to constructive self-empowerment and personal growth, so I gave it up. But there are many astrologers who use it successfully so...it's just a matter of what works best for you!

Focusing on the new,

Tim

Alisa,

Magi astrology is another type of astrology that I have tried...and then gave up on. Too much emphasis on how astrology controls our lives for me! My thoughts on:
Your Venus (relationships) quincunx (energy needs to be adjusted by his Sun (self-expression, also dating). This could indicate the need to make some adjustments between the way what you feel is appropriate in a relationship and the way he wants to date.

Guessing,

Tim
