When we say " my north node conjucts his sun" or something similar, what does it mean?
Does it mean that if my north node is in Cap. his sun is/can be in Virgo or Cappy or Taurus?

I don't really get those things..

I am sorry for asking something so silly

Hello, when a planet or cusp is in conjunction, it is within 5 degrees ( 9 when dealing with the sun, moon or asc.)of another planet or cusp. My moon is 6 degrees aries and my jupiter is 10 degrees aries so they are in conjunction. My mars is 22 degrees leo and my Fathers' sun is 26 dgrees leo so, for synastry purposes, my mars and his sun are conjunct.

It usually means that when you look at a birth chart...the planets are relatively next to each other.

For example, ur first in line, mother is after u, and ur father is after ur mom. So, ur conjunct ur mom. ur father is conjunct ur mom. BUT, ur mom is conjunct both u and ur dad b/c she's next to both of u. Obviously, u guys have to be really close in order for u to have conjunctions.

In terms of degrees and what not... cindy told u what it is.

Hope it makes sense

Green,

You asked:

quote:
..." my north node conjucts his sun"...Does it mean that if my north node is in Cap. his sun is/can be [conjunct] in Virgo or Cappy or Taurus?...

A conjunction by degree (the commmon meaning of "conjunction) between two planets or points can ONLY take place if the two planets or points are close to each other (within 10 degrees, according to the measurements I use). Using your example and making up some degrees, Capricorn modifying North node 28 degrees IS conjunct Aquarius modifying Sun 4 degrees (within 10 degrees of each other). But Capricorn modifying North node 28 degrees Capricorn is NOT conjunct Sagittarius modifying Sun 2 degrees (NOT within 10 degrees of each other).

Conjunctions can be seen in composite charts and in all other astrological charts which have planets or points (such as birth charts, transit charts, synastry, etc.).

Conjunction junction redux,

Tim

It has been explained very well, and i will try to further clarify.
In terms of your own chart first, go to www.astro.com and type in your birth information...A visual aid would be helpful.....
It is not the progression of signs through the zodiac that determines a conjunction, a conjunction means a planet/point is within applicable degrees of another planet... in fluctuating terms, depending upon your own interpretation of conjunction... so this means usually, that a planet ( Say, Sun) in Cancer, at 4 degrees, is what you see on your chart, then next to it, in the same house, (usually, in this case, I will speculate that it is),let's say Mercury is at Cancer, 8 degrees. These planets, Sun and Mercury are conjunct, as in.. close together in their chart positions, making the influence of those planets stronger, in relation to what they represent. They work together in a sense. They are separated by four degrees..... but still clustere together in energy in your birth chart.

Planets that are apart by signs are, depending on the positions, categorized differently. The natural progression of the zodiac is always read counter clockwise, starting from the ascendant, and follows the natural order.. ( Aries first, then Taurus, then Gemini, Cancer, etc.. but depending on where your Ascendant is, it starts in that order.)

Trines are signs of the same element ( fire-aries/leo/sagittarius, etc....) Roughly four signs apart. But they can also be trined by degree, in out of element signs, depending upon the measurement and position.. but when you are learning, focus on what makes sense at first, deal with the calculations later.

Sextiles are signs that are roughly two apart ( but in complimentary elements.. Air and fire/water and earth.. but the same rule of degree applies to all chart connections.

Squares are roughly three signs apart, and oppositions are six signs apart ( th opposite on the zodiac wheel.)

When we talk about conjunctions, we talk about PLANETS being close together. For example, venus conjunct mars.

Now when they talk about signs, it's usually indicating where the planets are in the birth chart. For example, venus in leo.

In terms of conjunctions, you could say that venus is at 12 o'clock, while mars is 12:01-12:05. Two planets should be that close to each other in order to be called conjunctions.

Conjunctions are in all types of charts: natal, synastry, and composite charts. Just remember, conjunctions tell you how two planets are related to each other in terms of distance (which in this case, they would be close to each other).

THe other aspects, like squares, trines, etc... are other ways of defining where the planets are in relation to each other. For example, if venus is square mars, that means that venus is 90 degrees to mars. Venus could be at 12 o clock, while mars is at 3 or 9 o'clock.

I hope it made sense. The other websites provided for you by others should tell you the other aspects if you want to know more.

GF ~

Of course you can Have you set yourself up at www.astro.com ? Here is a picture of a natal chart. There are 3 conjunctions in this chart.....

Mercury at 28 Gemini to Mars at 3 Cancer = approx 5 degrees orb
Uranus at 25 Cancer to Jupiter at 27 Cancer = approx 2 degrees orb
Moon at 17 Libra to Neptune at 25 Libra = approx 8 degrees orb

You may note there is a short red line drawn between the planets. Blue is used at astro.com to indicate a "soft" or harmonious aspect. Red us used to indicate a "hard" or challenging aspect.
