I've been through a few tough years and just looking at my transits, Saturn has been in opposition to almost all my personal planets and some outer planets for at least the last 5 years.

Right now it's conjunct Jupiter and opposed the Sun and Mars. once i get through this, there will be no more oppositions for many years to come (phew!!!).

This time last year it was opposed my Moon, and 2 - 3 years ago it was opposed my Venus and Neptune.

Am I wrong to feel like maybe my trials and tribulations are going to be over for a long while?

I'm new to transits, so I'm just wondering if this is an incorrect assesment. Thanks!

Venus,

Don't forget about the transits of the other challenging outer planets (i.e., Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto)! Uranus in conjunction, square or opposition to personal planets can cause rebellious feelings; Neptune in conjunction, square, or opposition to personal planets can cause confusion; and Pluto in conjunction, square, or opposition can cause challenging transformations to occur. However, it sounds like you are correct about SATURN "trials and tribulations" being over for awhile!

Reminding about the rest of the solar system,

Tim

Hi Venus De Milo do you have Aqua Sun conjunct Mars opposite Jupiter in Leo too?

I dont know how this Saturn opposition is manifesting for me. I started teaching this year, and saturn is in my 4th house. I've also been feeling angry too and wish I had more freedom to do what I wanted to do. Not bad...just paranoid about getting into arguements...and losing my job or something.

Right now I've also got tUranus conjuncting my Moon, opposing my Saturn/true node, and squaring my Neptune. Worried how things will get once Saturn also moves in my 5th to conjunct my Saturn/North node, oppose my Moon and square my Neptune...at the same time!

Not sure how the Uranus transit is working...I dont really have much time to think.

I do indeed! Were you born in late January of 1979 also?

I'm not too scared of Uranus and the other outer planets. the majority of my planets are in my 3rd - 5th houses with my Sun/Mars in the early part of the fifth.

I;ve gone through marriage problems, soulsearching, feeling suicidal, losing ALL of what I thought would be my lifelong friends, questioning my self-worth and talents, completely rebuilding EVERYTHING... etc...

And it's funny, I felt so light and optimistic lately anyway... maybe my higher self is well aware that we've gotten through the hard stuff and is looking forward to sailing through gentler waters I just happened to look through my transits yeaterday and realized the spectre of having Saturn steadily opposing EVERYTHING was finally abating.

I think Uranus cnjucting your moon will not bode well in relationships for you. I'm just learning about transits, but I imagine that you would be very inconsistent in your feelings, very changeable. It's probably not a good time to think about commitment... or if you are already commited, I would try to "ride the wave" to my advantage and travel and try different things together to avoid the restlessness/stagnance you might feel if you didn't use the energy well.

Saturn opposing your moon and Neptune in the mix sounds like a recipe for a lot of angst and confusion and maybe some decisions/strife not based on actual facts (Neptune).

I hope it's much gentler on you than it sounds!

Yup, I was also born in late January of 1979! January 30th to be exact. How about you? And what's your Ascendant?

I shouldn't be too worried about Uranus. It is an Aquarian planet, and well so was Saturn.

Sounds like you've been through a lot

quote:

You know what, I feel the same way.

Well I already have Uranus trine Moon in my chart, so I dont think Uranus conjuncting my moon will be that different. My emotions do change often, with each moon phase, possibly because my moon is in Pisces. I'm more concerned about the tense aspects it's forming with my Saturn, True node and Neptune. You should have these tense aspects as well. And in about two years you will also have your Saturn return, which will square your Neptune at the same time as the transiting Uranus aspects.

I kind of have an idea of what this may be like, so Im just going to focus on other aspects of my life that aren't influenced by the houses the transits are in.

Here's some info on Uranus and Saturn, if you havent come across them already on your search for these transits...

These are the transits we have, which I got from astro.com (Have you been on that site?)

quote:
Saturn opposition Sun: A twenty-nine-year low

Beginning of October 2005 until beginning of July 2006: This may be a very discouraging time. Your vital energies are at a twenty-nine-year low, and you may feel quite incapable of dealing with the adversities that often accompany this influence.

These adversities may come from a number of sources. First of all, other people, particularly employers and other persons in authority, may oppose your plans in several areas. This is not usually a good time for successfully attaining your goals.

You may feel physically tired, as if the burdens of your life are too much for you. Quite commonly during this time people feel old, even if they are in fact young, and there is a profound sense of world-weariness. Avoid excessive strains on your health, because that can lead to a major health breakdown, particularly if you are older. Be careful of your health and conserve your energies.

Your ambitions may also be thwarted by circumstances or by other people. Even though you and your associates have the best intentions for your future, something seems to block you.

It is possible that you may be caught in some kind of relationship, for example, a bad marriage or love affair, that limits your self-expression. Quite frequently this influence brings such relationships to an end.

This period is best dealt with by understanding that it is part of a natural cycle in your life. Nothing is gained by fighting it; instead you must learn to flow with it. This influence represents a period of endings which will be followed by new beginnings. The problem is to avoid being discouraged and frustrated by the endings. Soon you will have the opportunity to begin new projects that will build up to new peaks of achievement in about fourteen years.

quote:
Saturn opposition Mars: The middle way

Beginning of September 2005 until mid June 2006: This can be an extremely difficult period, because you feel that everything you try to do is blocked by circumstances or opposed by others. You may feel angry, but you have no obvious outlet for your anger, so you are left boiling over inside and seething with frustration. And there is no doubt that your actions are very closely circumscribed at this time. People who are important in directing your life - parents, employers, officials - may be a serious source of trouble at this time.

You may feel tempted to lash out against the forces that seem to be conspiring against you, but this is probably not a good idea. They will probably prove too strong for you. Instead of rebelling and fighting, it would be better to wait and in the meantime find some outlet for your pent-up energy. Hard work, physical activity, and concentrated effort will help dispel the energy build-up that may accompany this influence. However, take reasonable precautions in whatever you do along these lines. Accidents can occur now, because the pent-up energy is hard to control, and if it comes out in a sudden uncontrolled burst it can cause an accident. Be especially careful with sharp objects and anything made of metal.

It is not a good idea simply to hold in your feelings, even though it seems futile to let them out. The stored-up energy within you provokes responses from others and from your environment in very subtle ways, which can lead to even greater problems. You can conceivably become the victim of your own violent feelings, and this can happen in very subtle, unconscious ways. So you have to find the middle road between lashing out violently and holding all your anger in.

quote:
Uranus opposition Saturn: Uneasiness

Mid March 2006 until mid February 2007: During this time the structures that you have built up in your life will more than ever be challenged by circumstances. Areas of your life that you think are reliable and dependable may cease to be, and you will be forced to make a lot of changes. It is likely that you will feel a strong sense of uneasiness, because you don't know quite what to expect next.

What is happening is that all the hidden tensions in your world are being released. They may be released in a relationship, even to the point that one of you suddenly breaks it off, or in business, where a problem suddenly surfaces between you and your employer, or even in your body, where tensions that have long been hidden and ignored cause serious nervous problems.

During this time you may discover that you actually don't know what you thought you knew. This influence reveals aspects of life that you haven't considered at all, usually by creating a sudden event that does not fit into the pattern of your life. This is happening now, largely through encounters with others in close relationships or with enemies.

The physical tension that this influence can give rise to one of its more difficult manifestations. The tension can become so great that you develop a psychosomatic illness such as colitis or ulcers or simply a bad case of nerves. To avoid this, try to get in touch with the problem that is causing the tension and release it. You are much better off in many respects if the manifestations of this influence are not in your body but in the outer world, because there you can deal with the source of the tension. Bodily tension is only a response to the tensions you feel in dealing with the outer world.

But you are not being "hurt" pointlessly. This influence is letting you know that you don't have all the answers about reality and that there is still room to grow. Look at the situation that way and assimilate what you are shown. The more you resist and try to deny what happens now, the more difficult this time will be.

So what do you think of these interpretations? Mostly true? Or do they sound more upbeat or more depressing than it's really like?

Hi Daydreamer!

Wow, those interpretations ring eerily true. I was born on the 26th and I have Libra rising.

I actually have Robert Hand's book, Planet's In Transit in front of me. I bought last year, but I haven't really delved into it.

Today, Saturn is exactly opposing my Mars (and likely yours!) and in the next month or so it will exactly conjunct my Sun (@ 5 of Aqua) and then... WE'RE FREE!!! Hahaha

Those interpretations really ring true. I've felt really inhibited and unhappy since... wow... exactly October!!! There was something that happened at that time that changed things a lot for me. I just feel really isolated and lonely and... impotent... in every way. I've had a lot of conflicts with others where I just felt powerless to really speak my mind and stand up for myself.

I'm really glad it's almost over though! Phew!

I think those interpretations are really spot on, personally, what about you?

Just to add, this is really spot on. I am a personal trainer and, although motivation always comes in ebbs and flows, and everyone has moments where they don't feel like training... I have gained about 15 pounds since October and I have to motivate myself to even do a half-a$$ed work out 3 or 4 times a week. can't stick to a healthy diet for the life of me either (i should check for negative pesky Jupiter transits to blame for that, lol).

I usually need to remind myself to take a day off per week and worry about OVER-TRAINING... in the 5 years I have been serious about fitness, I've never felt so low and listless!

29-year energy low INDEED!!!

Hi Venus De Milo,

Born on the 26th would mean your moon is in Capricorn? What house? And do you have Pluto in your 1st house?

Ok I suppose those transits I posted are in Robert Hand's book because his interpretations are posted on astro.com. I'll have to look for that book...was it worth the purchase? I bought a few used astrology books this weekend. If I have time I may post some stuff later on.

Ohhhh I can't wait for Saturn to get out of the way hehehe. I still feel its impact on my Mercury which is @3'38 deg Aqua. My Mars is actually at 7'51, and Sun at 10'15. In a way you're lucky that Saturn is exactly opposite your sun and mars...it can only get better from here on!

I dont want to jinx myself, but so far I can't agree that this period has been the lowest in 29 years. Parts of my childhood were much worse. God forbid anything happens from now on that makes that so.

My main issues are with other people who oppose me. I really have to play dumb most of the time and just keep quiet because I dont need anymore people against me than I have now. I dont think I'm anymore tired than Ive been in the past. But I do have alot more responsibilties and burdens. The kids I teach do find me to be pretty strict, and that surprises me when they tell me that because I don't realize it...I dont really think Im strict enough. Im not happy with how organized I am, and I feel Im too lenient. And I find myself controlling, well trying to control my temper often. Not happy with how Im controlling that either...there have been a few days, where Ive had my foot in my mouth, and Im surprised by the impact my words have on others.

I'm just trying to be as invisible as possible, for a 10th house sun/mars/mercury. The Saturn opposition Mars rings more true for me.

You have Saturn in your 11th house so I can see how it would make you feel lonely. I have it in my 4th of home and family, and oddly enough I dont feel restricted in those areas. Except there has been some changes to my Jupiter ruled father...he's working less, and is sorta sick. (He's also got Pluto conjunct his sun, so should be undergoing dramatic transformations).

As for Jupiter in your chart...It was actually square our Sun That explains the weight gain. I've gained a few as well. I dont have time to workout, or play sports. I cant be bothered stressing myself out to make the time...but I really need to so that I can ease the strains of the Saturn/Mars opposition. Are you just not motivated, or just too tired to get your butt to the gym?

Venus, I noticed you mentioned

quote:

- yeah, Saturn transits are bad (going through saturn square pluto right now, no fun), but Tim's right that the outer planets can be much worse. Of uranus, neptune, and pluto, the worst transits come from neptune to the sun, moon and the angles. A hard neptune/MC transit can be a whole lot more threatening than anything saturn can throw at you since there's no clear way out with neptune. That said, congrats, no saturn transits is something positive to look forward to.

JKXX, hey I'm sure I'll still encounter challenges and hardship in life, but I'm just skeptical that it could be so monotonous... set back after disppointment and hardship and setback again.

I have Uranus in the 2nd, Venus and Sag exactly conjunct in the 3rd, Mercury & my Moon in the 4th and the Sun and Mars in the 5th! So, for a very long time, Saturn has opposed one thing after another... and it's been very trying to say the least.

One or two squares and oppositions at a time are CAKE compared to what I just got through, lol.

Daydreamer, I do have Pluto in the 1st... as far as the weight gain... I'm an emotional eater... and I've been severely lacking motivation. Plus, I had a relative visiting for TWO MONTHS... who seemed to LOVE rubbing my nose in family problems and parental issues... under the guise of commiserating. But it was actually really draining and depressing for me. I don't see a point in dwelling in things that are so long past and unchangable, but it was next to impossible to get this person to focus elsewhere. That contributed A LOT to my weight gain and emotional eating.

Exercise is actually a huge stress reliever, I really don't know what the hell my problem was getting my a$$ in gear these last few months, lol. I just felt immobilized.

i also don't think this last 6 months have been the worst EVER in life, but this energy slump has been very pronounced. The worst time in my life was about 2 years ago when Saturn was opposed my Moon. I'll be dreading dealing with another transit like that next spin around the wheel, ugh!!!

I'm just so happy that this seemingly endless string of Saturn oppositions are almost over!!! Yippeeeee!!!

Venus,

No, you are not imagining the Saturn effect. I think people like you and I (Pluto in the first - or anyone with strong Pluto in their chart) can deal with the Plutonian energy. I have T. Pluto conjuncting my Sun, Squaring my natal Pluto and Ascendant. It is also conjuncting my IC while opposing my MC... I barely feel it.

But SATURN? That sucker beat me during my return (Taurus) and tried to kill me when it opposed my Sun / Venus (while squaring Pluto / Ascendant) I felt like I was the swiss cheese in the cosmic sandwich between Saturn in Gemini and Pluto in Sag.

THEN.. the darn thing just HAD to go into Cancer and complete my T-square. IT was non-stop for about 6 years. But, we get through it. Saturn teaches and I needed to learn a few lessons about how to play the game in the world of business (meaning, I have always been so upfront, above board and outspoken when I see something wrong. Now I know there are quieter ways to go about it and still achieve the same result).

Pluto in turn (once it sat on my Sun / IC) welcomed me to the world of 1) breaking things off with a dead-beat ex, 2) Losing my job 3) signing a lease and saying OMG how will I pay...

Again.. you just have to go with it and still felt the Plutonian energies were so much more comfortable.

I am sorry you have to deal with family issues right now on top of everything else. Just remember, there is a lesson to be learned through all of this. Soon, Saturn will move into Virgo and quit causing so many problems.

Keep your chin up

Venus, what was that relative's problem? Try not to take other people's sh!t and criticisms personally...that's what I've learned the hard way, and still working on. When people get too emotionally draing, I'm sorry but I just have to cut things off, and I'll be blunt about it. More sooner than later I would have kicked the relative out of my house.

I'm an emotional eater too. My problem is I'm always emotional, hahah . Thank God for NOW I wear my weight well. My problem also is that I like food too much. Maybe it's the Jupiter oppositions?

Totally, exercise for me too makes me feel good. And when I don't I'm cranky and too aggressive. Saturn has an odd way of slowing us down...and making us feel "immobilized." Personally I can't find the time...time just seems to be running out too quickly to fit all that I need to get done in a day. Ive been going to bed late, waking up late, even running late for work and my appointments. It's crazy and I feel like it's out of my control.

Urgh Saturn opposite Moon can be a pain in the emotional, and esteem butt. How was that for you? It's in my natal chart, so I had to deal with it growing up, and now have a better handle on it. Can make me seem cold, critical and pessimistic at times, but Ive got more control over my mood swings.

Let's throw a party once Saturn leaves Aquarius
