What Venus Aspects in a Composite have you seen working well, in your own, or others? Thanks.

Venus in trine/sextile with Mars or with Pluto, a sign of great attraction. Any square in these aspects and it will be a little difficult, but not impossible.
But, in my experience, Sun sign are VERY important for getting along.

How about Venus SEMI-SEXTILE Mar? Would it be less significant?

I guess trines are better, then sextiles and then semi-sextiles. But you should look also other aspectations and the houses they are in. Saturn tells about the seriousness of the relationship. A very beautiful aspect is the trine between Jupiter and the Moon...

AJ,

I bought Robert Hand's planets in composite recently and it's a really good read (although if you have used astro's astro*click partner, you'll recognize most of the interpretations).

Most composite interpretations seem to agree on:

- Venus/Mars as helper aspects to spice things up
- soft Venus/Uranus aspects encourage thinking outside the box and keeping things 'fresh'
- Venus/Jupiter aspects make love "happier" and induce mutual forgiveness
- Moon (hard aspect to) Venus get people together in the beginning
- Venus/Pluto adds depth and makes the relationship irresistable or "major"
- personal planets to Jupiter add a positive outlook
- Venus/Saturn plays an important role in attraction, most can't agree on specifics of this
- Mercury/Jupiter makes more rationalization that leads to solutions to a problem; works even better along with sun/mercury
- Sun/Mercury helps relationship problems be settled by talking instead of fighting
- At least a third of both harmonious and inharmonius aspects to keep the relationship alive and give a sense of fulfillment
- Sun and Moon/Saturn aspects tend to indicate marriage partner

...and many more but I'm getting tired..

You are very kind to write down the list here. Appreciated!

- In real life, I have venus conjunct saturn in composite. The book from John Townley said that "...you will find that it will be difficult to get what you want in this relationship, especially the short run." I find that it is true. I have been waiting for 3 years to turn friendship into romantic relationship. So tired, anyway. "Important role in attraction"? Does the book say what role it plays?
- I agree with sun/mercury.
- We have moon trine saturn. I am quite happy if it indicate marriage partner Hope that it is true.

Do you use ASC midpoint method?

Have anyone here ever use Davidson method? Can we use the same interpretation for the aspects?

I found out that Davidson chart can forecast your relationship. I use solar arc method.

Hello jkxx,

Can you please tell me what orbs Robert Hand uses in composites?
I looked up my and someone's composite on astro.com, and the orbs are up to 10 degrees. According to this, we have 6 planets in conjunction in composite (Venus, Pluto, Mercury, Sun, Moon, and Uranus) and Mars makes trines to all of these planets.
Actually, the only planet not conjuct in this bundle is Saturn, which is conjunct the ascendant, and Neptune, which is square moon. Everything else is conjunct, plus Mars trines. I have to say, I have never seen composite like this, so I am confused.
But some of these orbs are 9 degree orbs, and some very tight (1 degree), so I wonder what he says in his book. Thanks a lot, Selena.

P.S.
To answer to Astro Junkie, well we have this Venus trine Mars aspect, combined with synastric Venus opposition Mars (exact), and the attraction is overwhelming.
But I don't know if this is due to Venus/Mars, or Venus Pluto conjunction in composite plus Venus Pluto square in synastry (also exact, less than a degree). It is hard to tell sometimes what aspects are predominant, but I think Venus/Mars are more instant and urgent, and Venus/Pluto more deep and slow burning....

Thank you for your responses. If anyone else wants to add more Composite Aspects, whether or not includes Venus, feel free to ...

jkxx -

Thank you for that consolidated version, very nice.

Saturn represents authorities in astrology. A prominent saturn in a composite can give both individuals
this power of "authority" in a personal manner if they are willing to make the effort. This is only half-baked guesswork though
since I haven't had experience to prove or disprove it. Anyway, if true, it could be attractive if both are mature
enough to realize their potential and then take pleasure in actually doing it in reality.

Selena -

Rob Hand tends to use astro's orbs in most cases, check them out at astro.com (forget where the exact table is).

Personally I agree with Tim that you should give wider orbs to the disharmonious aspects and tighter ones to the harmonious
ones. Also check out my post about orb attenuation since that's not linear either. Another point to make is that aspect
powers are not static or evenly distributed in a chart. Said another way, that means that a square off by 4 degrees
in one chart will not be like an identical square (orb-wise) in another chart.

AJ -

np at all. I just wish others would post their ideas on this here.

Thanks a lot, JKXX

I have many books on astrology, and everyone uses different orbs, it is one of those things...
It seems R. Hand goes up to 10 degree, at least that is what is shown on astro.com.
Thank you for your reply, Regards, S.

I have a closely orbed Mars/venus opp with someone in a composite and that is pretty overwhelming too, It is like however much your head says no it won't win. Very Magnetic.

In my most cherished relationships, a common theme is Venus conjunctions with major planets and angles like the Sun Moon, Ascendant... it makes the feeling of love overpowering, reassuring. I've never doubted the feelings of the other person with these aspects. I've always known where I stood.

Hope that helps!!

Come to think of it, that same Opp might have a similar effect in Synastry... (my darn Neptune/Venus Aspects)...

Hi Astro Junkie~

My boyfriend and I (been together for 5+ yrs now) have a stellium in the 4th house: Sun, Mercury, Uranus, and Venus, all in Scorpio in our composite chart. I think that this makes us intense and very focused on our home/inner lives (we both also have 4th house suns natally too). I have read that a lot of 4th house focus in a composite chart works very well for marriage.

`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

Although I'm not an expert in the composite chart, I would suppose that Venus conjunct Sun and Venus conjunct Moon would be especially great for the relationship. Does anyone know more about these two aspects in the composite? I would love to find out more.
