thought i'd start a sex thread since i'm bored. so what do you guys think has a greater influence, mars or venus? i tend to think of venus as bait and mars as how we go after the bait, if that makes any sense. say you have venus in scorpio, you would lure by being mysterious and a mars in leo would make grand gestures in conquering his/her object of affections/desire. whar are your placements and how do you guys use them? or what are your s.o.'s placements and how you responded to each of them?IP: Logged |

Yummy... hehe I'm Cap. venus and Pisces mars, which rather sucks! I want love and commitment, and I'm darn serious about my love affairs, and then when I actually get around to wanting sex, I can't get together the direction and focus to go after it (pisces mars)! LOL This guy I'm hot-hot for has Cap. mars and Pisces venus, and when he's come at me with the confident, self-assured Capricorn approach, I am immediately turned on. When we first met, it kind of seemed that he was acting more Piscean and that just wasn't working as well, and was not appealing to my Cap. venus as much. Interesting topic! Look forward to hearing others' comments.

From Magi Astrology:"VENUS has dominion over intimacy and sexual enery and desire in woman..." "Venus rules seduction, the act of making love, female sexuality and sexual energy in the woman..." "MARS represents...the sex drive (especially in men)..." "Mars is associated with pure physical attraction of the body, as distinguished from emotional and even sexual attraction. Venus rules female sexuality, but Mars is the ruler of male sexuality." "PLUTO is the ruler of sexuality, lust, obsessive desires, and the sex organs. (This overlaps in some ways with Mars, which symbolizes pure physical attraction, but there is a difference.)" Also, Pluto is ruler of the actual sex act, as opposed to lovemaking and seduction, which are ruled by Venus. Venus seduces you; Pluto simple throws you on the bed and says, “Take off your clothes.” "It is NEPTUNE that rules act of procreation and reproduction; as opposed to Venus, which rules the act of making love and seduction. Neptune is also different than Pluto, which rules the sex act itself." ------------------ `Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll

From cafeastrology: http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/lovesexastrology.html Venus, the goddess of love, reveals much about the way we approach relationships, romance, and love. Its placement by sign, house, and aspect shows how and where we go about expressing love. Mars rules our animal instincts for aggression, anger, and survival. Our sexual desires come under the rule of Mars. Whereas Venus rules romantic attraction, Mars is most associated with basic body attraction. This is the planet of action rather than reaction. With Mars, there is no contemplation before action. The drive associated with Mars differs from that of the Sun in that it is self-assertion rather than assertion of the will; it is raw energy rather than creative energy. http://www.cafeastrology.com/pluto.html Pluto, God of the Underworld, is the ruler of Scorpio. (In Greek mythology, the corresponding god was Hades). In Astrology, the energies of Pluto are transforming. Pluto represents subconscious forces, ruling all that is "below the surface". On the up side, Pluto is associated with renewal and rebirth. It represents endings and new beginnings, as well as spiritual growth and rebirth. Negative expression of Pluto is an obsessive desire for power and control and general destructiveness. IP: Logged |

These people can be provocative in a quiet way. Their need for balance and perfection in their relationships may manifest itself at all the wrong moments. In bed, these lovers want things to be balanced. They love working on getting things right, and are especially turned on by role-playing sex games. They have a strong need for change and growth in their sexual expression. They are givers in bed, but they fully expect you to give equally in return. Although they can be pushed around for a time, their lovers must be aware that the best way to keep Libra lovers happy is to keep everything fair. These lovers can be a little picky when it comes to mood and atmosphere while making love (Virgo is all too often assigned this trait, but our experience suggests that Libra is the pickiest of lovers). Make them happy, however, and you have a lover who is going to think about you and your needs. These lovers can charm the birds out of the trees when they want to.
When Venus or Mars is in Scorpio, the sexual nature can be quite complex. These lovers generally share a common intensity and depth in their sexual desires, but they vary in expression depending on their level of development. Some enjoy power and are attracted to breaking taboos. These lovers are willing to do almost anything, and they enjoy full-body pleasures. Others express their need for control by being unavailable and abstaining for long periods of time, giving in only when they feel their partner is deserving. Whatever their nature, they have a way that promises commitment and intensity in bed. They are provocative but private. Most will never kiss and tell. Sex is intimate and personal for Scorpio, but their fantasies are full-ranging. When Venus or Mars is in Aquarius, there is a "take it or leave it" style that can be sexy or maddening, depending on the audience. They don't have a reputation for warmth in sex, although they may think the other way around because, at least in theory, they are open-minded. They give off an air of being savvy and cool in bed. Sex from a distance (when you are not actually there physically), or in theory, is often where they shine. That is why cyber or phone sex, or affairs that don't break up marriages, can be especially attractive to these folks. They are most turned on when you are not, as detachment can be a real turn-on for them. And, again, the idea of sex is generally more exciting to these lovers than the actual act. Their fantasies often involve getting caught having sex, and they are attracted to people who are a little offbeat or odd. IP: Logged |

thank you everyone for replying, i appreciate all of your comments...so keep them coming! i'm with you Girl of the Water, pluto's approach is very, shall i say ravishing? hey CapGirl, i was once in the same boat as you, i was really attracted to a male that had venus in leo and mars in virgo (i have mars in leo and venus in virgo), i know what you're talking about, although i think it was the virgo trait that kept getting in our way, virgos like to retreat once they're interested in someone and we took turns doing that and i'm sure his leo placement was just as frustrated as mine! so sadly, nothing more happened. For a Man:His Sun determines the percentage energy of his life alloted to sex in boosting his ego. His Moon determines the emotional state needed to cause arousal. His Mercury determines the intellectual satisfaction derived from sex. His Venus determines what foreplay he needs and the choice of setting for sex. His Mars rules the speed of erection and quality of the erection. His Eros determines how long he will last. His Jupiter determines the enthusiasm he will have for sex. His Saturn determines his excuses for not having sex. Uranus determines the kinky moves, sudden sex in unexpected situations and exotic positions. His Neptune will determine the spiritual arousal for the soul of his partner with whom he decides to become one. Also the time devoted to sexual fantasy. His Pluto rules the actual power and psychology during the sex act. How much pleasure does he want to give? How much pleasure must he extract? What must she think? How will he control what she thinks during the act? Should he prove to her who is the boss? How? and How many times?

Hexxie, Great post. I think too often people get stuck in the "perceived" influences of various planets and also into the negative interpretations. Capgirl, You are neglecting to see how Venus really manifests in your life - you have Venus Conjunt Sun, which also lends to a attractive person along with being very charming. For you to concentrate on the negative aspects of Venus in Capricorn / Mars in Pisces, is not healthy. I have Mars in Pisces and I have never seen it manifest as a "wishy washy" energy that doesn't know which path to following when finally deciding to have sex LOL.... That is an archaic interpretation, no doubt invented by someone that doesn't care for those with Mars in Pisces. I prefer to see the positive influences in that yes, we do take sex a bit more seriously on that emotional level- we live to "merge" meaning, body and soul - not just a romp. But, if negatively aspected, we may look to merge with anyone. That's when we need to have a nice planet in a strict sign. For me, it's Saturn in Taurus in the 8th. Acting like big daddy saying "no, no, no... you really don't want to merge with that one". If not for Saturn, my Venus in Sag and Mars in Pisces may have had too much fun **** I should also add, like what Pixie said, it is the OVERALL chart that makes a person.
For example, my honey has Moon in Pisces and Venus in Virgo. According to some interpretations he would need a battalion of candles, soft music and possibly some type of aphrodesiac to get him going (Pisces moon) he would also be predispositioned to having a homely, natural girl with an understated charm (Venus in Virgo).... Funny..because his engines are always revving, with or without music and candles (although we love both). I am not an understated woman (Hee hee.. Saggies are known as the Tawny Texan's of the Zodiac) Here's the catch - he is a Full Leo Sun in all his glory along with a Leo rising (putting his Sun right in that First house) he also has Mars in Taurus (Taurus loves fine things / beauty). With his Merc in Leo and Neptune in Sagittarius he has even more fire to his persona. So... make sure you check it ALL out instead of focusing on one thing separate from the others. IP: Logged |

Wow, Tameem, that is serious.......now we ladies will be checking out the charts of all potential men! When you talk about the man's sun are you saying certain signs would be more focused on sex or is by house, aspect or what? If we (women) are looking at our own charts, can you give a list of meanings? Very interesting!IP: Logged |

Hi Azalaksh~ Magi Astrology dosen't look at Juno in the book that I have (The Key to Success in Love and Money). They only look at Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, Uranus, and Chiron. ~~~ Not all of the following really are about sex per se, but the things that sort of surround sex itself. I put some of my own thoughts into the following in () :"The Benefic planet JUPITER symbolizes fulfillment... dreams coming true (LOL I'm pretty sure this isn't exactly what they mean but I thought it was funny)... generosity, the act of giving...Jupiter symbolizes elevated levels of whatever is ruled by the planet that Jupiter makes an aspect with." "MOON has rulership of uncontrollable urges, illogical actions (affairs maybe?)...maternal instinct, and is sub-ruler of procreation (ruled by Neptune)... it's not sexual, but because it is maternal, the Moon influences a woman's desire for conception and children" (and to get these you need sex hehe) "MERCURY governs...the mind, expression, teaching... it also represents exploring and exploration...it prefers the mind games..." (cyber sex? teehehee) "URANUS is representative of excitement and thrill seeking... detached and flirtatious, difficult to satisfy... coy, teasing, changeable... always a challenge" "SATURN is the planet of control and dominance, and the desire for control and dominance over others... and signifies temptation and succumbing to temptation... disipline and being diciplined" (ok this sounds either like S & M -OR- maybe the discpline of Tantra which are total opposites) "CHIRON is the planet that has rulership over emotional ties, marriages... It governs fertility and pregnancies... marital and romantic instinct and desire of romance, as well as romance itself..." ------------------ `Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Hi MysticalDream, I was not thinking very deeply when I wrote this, just some impulsive Aries Asc and Mercury in Gemini outline stuff written here We have to consider 8th house, 2nd house, 5th house, 7th house aspects as well to get the overall picture. Many negative aspects can indicate sado-masochism and so on. Throw in asteroids like Lust, Juno, Vesta, Psyche, Eros, Aphordite and Pan , it gets more interesting! Volumes and volumes can be written on sex and astrology. <<When you talk about the man's sun are you saying certain signs would be more focused on sex or is by house, aspect or what?>> EVerything will have to be considered together. Let me try to clarify. Virgo Sun: Wont devote more than 10% of his mind to sex. Virgo Sun in 8th House: Wont devote more than 10% of his mind to HIS sex acts. 80% of the mind space could be brilliantly psychoanalayzing sex in all forms. Virgo Sun with Mars in Aries: Wont devote more than 10% of his mind to sex, but when sex is on his mind, the erection would be at rocket speed. Sun Scorpio or Leo, Pluto conj Venus in Scorpio, Moon in Libra, Venus in Sag, Mars in Aries 8th House or 1st house and Eros in Taurus : One of the perfect Male charts with respect to sex just for the sake of sex.

Wow. I'm liking this topic indeed.Iqhunk- Nice analogies! They made pretty good sense especially considering you came up with them off the top of your head! I'm very impressed and will shortly be busy trying to psychoanalyse all the men I know to guess if it rings true or not! (Well, I have Virgo Sun in 8th house ) Although I am a little disappointed you don't seem to think your definitions extend to women, or that you haven't made up some guidelines for the girls' planets! Can I just apply the men's rules? Interestingly enough, I have always been pretty interested in psychology (along with astrology) and especially sex! So, do you think I could ask you a big favour to please disregard the fact I'm a mere few months away from being 16 and give me a clean (if you wish) interpretation of what my placements tell you? Seriously, I'd love you forever! I could ask Randall nicely to give you my email or you could give me yours if you feel it's rude to hijack someone's thread like this! IP: Logged |

Hi MNF,<<Although I am a little disappointed you don't seem to think your definitions extend to women, or that you haven't made up some guidelines for the girls' planets! Can I just apply the men's rules>> I am a Man. Inspite of astrology, all men are functionally the same. Hence it is easy for me to quickly correlate a planet-sign-house to sex from a man's angle. For a woman, every 1/2 degree change in the Moon produces a complete change in a complex nth order polynomial mathematical equation on sex. A woman has about 15-20 erogenous zones whose arousals and feelings change according to the Moon's position. [This is a big Yogic/Tantrik secret.] Imagine applying this to the whole chart. About 2000 different thesis can be written. So, I decided not to say anything...... Ok, my email is tsaied@rediffmail.com; Alternatively, why not post your birth details on a separate string, and let many other knowflakes add their views to whatever I find. That way you will get a more holistic picture of your chart. IP: Logged |

Hi 1Scorp, As I said to MNF, guessing the sexual talents of ladies ysing astrology is fraught with risks. However, being an Aries Asc, I will go ahead, whats a few million brickbats?<<2nd house - uranus, venus, mercury, mars>> 2nd House is about possessions. You would just love to be touched physically in multifarious ways during sex. [Uranus sparks the need for kinky sensual variety in the touching.] Luxurious furnishings would add stimulus. Mentally being very possessive of the partner can be a turn on. Mars in second house means you take a little bit of time to get aroused but once aroused, would enjoy a longer duration of sex than average. Second Interpretation: Well, since 8th house represents sex with a partner, the opposite holds for second house. [Not my discovery, found it on Eric Francis' site in some reading] So second house represents the house of sex with self or self stimulations. Uranus, Venus, Mercury and Mars in second house means that if you choose to, you can have a jolly great time with yourself!

Haha fair point Iqhunk... don't think I could start a thread on myself, I'd be too embarrassed. Plus, my Cap Ascendant would never give my Aries Moon that satisfaction! Thanks for your email... It would be great if you coudl just roughly do what you did for 1Scorp. I'm not expecting you to guess Moon transits by degree! I'm just interested in your take on interpretating it. EDIT: Actually, I'm a little aprehensive about emailing since my email gives away my full name so I'll probably start a thread on Free For All if I pluck up the arrogance!
