I know this may seem like kind of a stupid question but......What exactly does the planet Jupiter do for a person? My Jupiter is in Cancer, but that's the case with pretty much everyone who was born around the same time as me, and we all definitely don't have the same personality. Does it depend on other planets? For example, if a person had Jupiter in Cancer along with Venus, would it enhance the qualities of Venus? I don't have any other planets in Cancer, but I do have a planet in the 8th house. Would my Jupiter do anything for me in that case? Just wondering..... ------------------

Hi daydream32,
Jupiter, Saturn, and the outer planets are more significant by house than sign placement.
Jupiter is where you have luck and a gift, and where you are likely to learn or teach a great deal, but it also gives a tendency to exaggerate, or place blind faith in something. Again, the house is more personal than the sign, although the sign is important, and, all the people born around that time/year will deal with similar issues. In Cancer, unless the Moon is in hard aspect to something, it is very likely that you have/had a very nurturing, supportive mother figure; perhaps she was especially optimistic, spiritual, or a teacher of some sort. If Jupiter is in hard aspect, there could be problems, but not big ones. The 8th house is a water house, but it is ruled by Scorpio, not Cancer. IP: Logged |

haha yeah...I know it's not. I was just using an example because my Jupiter is in Cancer.My Jupiter is in the 8th house by the way. Just figured that out from a report....not quite sure what it does for me though.

I have Jupiter in Scorp, in my 9th house. I suppose that makes Jupiter more prominent in my chart, being in its ruling house. It's square my sun, however, so that could be an issue.Jupiter in 8th would mean that it's in the house of Scorpio.
