I think maybe the moon sign, since it's the part of our personality that's usually hidden. Most things will tell me my moon sign is Taurus, but sometimes a chart will tell me it's Gemini, so I guess I fall on the cusp. I know when I'm drunk, all I want to do is talk to people.IP: Logged |

I don't think it's the moon. I am a moon in aries but I am a very chill drunk. I use to be loud like most people when they first start drinking (and don't know how to handle the state) but settled down after a few experiences. People usually have a tough time telling when I am drunk and mistake me for being sober, even when I have half a bottle of jack daniels in 45-60 minutes....thats like 17 shots. I observe and sometimes crack jokes. I like to play card games, put on some good tunes and chill with a small group of good, easy going people. I think my scorpio sun maintains when I am drunk as well as my cap ascendent (the sometimes serious/quiet nature I give off even when drunk). but my moon in aries does not appear very much...maybe my scorp/sag cusp mercury and sag venus appear a little more than the moon cause I get philosophical sometimes when drunk..especially a few hours into being drunk when I have finished actual drinking but that drunk feeling lingers. so I rank these as most apparent when drunk: 1. cap asc
2. scorp sun
3. sag venus
4. scorp/sag cusp mercury after that, who knows. my cap mars/jupiter probably add to the serious nature I sometimes maintain when I am drunk and with strangers. I refuse to act goofy. but with good friends maybe those cap influences compete with that aries moon and I am not afraid to be a little more humourous and outspoken. overall though, I am not the typical ******* 20-something college drunk..I am still a complicated person even when drunk and am different each time I drink, but usually have a good time and laugh and find it most important to be laid back and have good vibes. I think it depends on the substance..
I find alcohol emphasizes the ascendant and weed brings out the moon. But that is just a personal observation.
It's odd because they say "in vino, veritas"- that people speak the truth when they are drunk but I find this to be false. People speak more truth when they're high than when they're drunk.
I act very Libran when I'm tipsy..flirtatious and much girlier than I am in ordinary life. And I love to argue politely.
On the other hand, when I'm high I show a lot of Leo qualities- I always end up entertaining people or doing something artistic and I feel like there is a spotlight on me.. I've always felt that when I'm high..And whereas some people get anti-social I become a lot more social when I blaze a joint.
However, alcohol may also bring out Mars qualities.. for mine is in Scorpio and I always become very sexual and "forward", aggressive.. although that may be the universal side-effect of drinking, across the zodiac.
Interesting topic, I think about this a lot actually!

Sun in Taurus... when I am tipsy I'm usually more talkative and giggly like my Sag ascendent, and in the past it's also made me more flirtatious like my Venus in Gemini.  At times though it has brought out my jealous side, like my Scorpio moon. I don't like that and when it's happened I've felt like I can't control it... it's occasions like that that put me off drinking. And I'm not big on drugs, but on the couple of occasions I've been a bit stoned, I feel like my mind is more open and I get better ideas and I talk a lot more; also, the last time, I was seeing auras without even trying. I've only been drunk twice when I was very young so I won't really comment on how that makes me...but I have suffered from severe migraines and taken my share of pain killers (for pain only!) so I can comment on what I'm like when "high" My sag comes out SOOO MUCH!(Sag rising) I just feel so in tune with joyful expression, and I feel like tomorrow's promises are endless and that I am full of love a joy...and very bouyently philosophical. The funny thing is I can access these feelings without a narcotic, though it takes more mental focus (sun and moon in cancer, nep, uranus, and sat in cap, jup and mercury in gem, and mars and venus in leo) IP: Logged |

I would say the asc. comes out from my experience...I know a Libra guy w/ Cancer ascendent and when he's drunk he gets kind of mean (you know how cancer guys can be- they use meaness as a shield a lot of times), sensitive, & quiet like a cancer.
Also I know a scorpio, pisces rising guy who gets a LOT nicer & quiet when he's high or drunk.
I know a Capricorn sun/ sag rising guy who is normally kind of reserved, but when he's drunk it all hangs out  I would say that your rising sign powers get multiplied.. I don't like to drink. It makes me feel bad & I don't know where I am and then I look dumb. It doesn't have the right effect on me, I guess... Weed is better in my opinion; since you're not COMPLETELY out of it and "people" won't take advantage of you. ------------------

I've just realised that my moon (Scorpio) comes out when I'm really tired - I get jealous, paranoid and emotional... This also makes a difference to how alcohol effects me. If I'm not tired, my Sag. ascdendent comes out, but if I'm tired and I drink, then I get all 'Scorpio'... Anyone else's moon become more pronounced when they're tired?IP: Logged |

I think, the Ascendant (Leo) because I tend to become quite obnoxious and show off-ish. Thankfully, it takes A LOT of alcohol to get me into this state. I am not sure if it's because of Moon in Libra or russian heritage...lol. I came across some info which supposed to apply to women in general. I am wondering if any particular traits are more or less common for certain signs WHEN WE GIRLS DRINK TOO MUCH............
1. WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHERE OUR PURSE IS.
2. WE BELIEVE THAT DANCING WITH OUR ARMS OVERHEAD AND WIGGLING OUR BUTT WHILE YELLING "WOO-HOO!" IS TRULY THE SEXIEST DANCE MOVE AROUND. 3. WE'VE SUDDENLY DECIDED THAT WE WANT TO KICK SOMEONE'S ASS AND HONESTLY BELIEVE WE COULD DO IT TOO. 4. IN OUR LAST TRIP TO PEE, WE REALIZE THAT WE NOW LOOK MORE LIKE A HOMELESS HOOKER THAN THE GODDESS WE WERE JUST FOUR HOURS AGO 5.WE START CRYING AND TELLING EVERYONE WE SEE THAT WE LOVE THEM SOOOOO MUCH. 6. WE GET EXTREMELY EXCITED AND JUMP UP AND DOWN EVERY TIME A NEW SONG PLAY'S BECAUSE "OH MY GOD! I LOVE THIS SONG!" 7. WE'VE FOUND A DEEPER/SPIRITUAL SIDE TO THE GEEK SITTING NEXT TO US. 8 . WE'VE SUDDENLY TAKEN UP SMOKING AND BECOME REALLY GOOD AT IT. 9. WE YELL AT THE BARTENDER, WHO WE BELIEVE CHEATED US BY GIVING US JUST LEMONADE, BUT THAT'S JUST BECAUSE WE CAN NO LONGER TASTE THE GIN. 10. WE THINK WE ARE IN BED, BUT OUR PILLOW FEELS STRANGELY LIKE THE KITCHEN FLOOR (or the mop?) 11. WE FAIL TO NOTICE THAT THE TOILET LID'S DOWN WHEN WE SIT ON IT. 12. WE TAKE OUR SHOES OFF BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IT'S THEIR FAULT THAT WE'RE HAVING PROBLEMS WALKING STRAIGHT. I have a pretty good idea of what happens when GUYS drink too much but I thought it might be better to hear it coming from the source IP: Logged |

Kamilla, I've got the leo ascendant, and I totally get that too. The night starts off with me being supersocial and confident and show-offy, but then later on, my cancer/12th house sun gets the best of me and i'll be found crouched up in a ball a corner crying, grasping the whiskey bottle for dear life...IP: Logged |

or
Should statements, professions and the like not be trusted when under the influence of anything stronger than grape juice?
