Saturn is meant to be the sign of the father/parents.. In mythology Saturn (Cronus) was Jupiter's father, and Jupiter (Zeus) overthrew him.

I noticed something interesting. In my chart and two of my friends' charts, one or both of their parents' Saturn is conjunct their natal Jupiter. In my case it's both my parents, because they're born 6 months apart, but I guess with some people it would only be one parent.. Since usually there's a bigger age gap.

Has anyone else noticed this? I thought three people having this (all close by degree) was a bit much to put it down to coincidence.

Actually, in Modern Astrology, The person Saturn represents is simply The Authority Figure--meaning the finally authority. This can be either parent, occaisonally a grandparent or even "the church."

Saturn in good aspect to Jupiter in synastry [conj sextile trine] helps much to cross the --age gap-- and is actually one of the best aspects to have for a true solid friendship cos Jupiter encourages Saturn beyond their imposed limits and Saturn treats Jupiter with respect rather than restriction/control.

Also an excellent aspect for a business partnership!

I like one interpretation of Saturn being the "church".. No wonder I have it opposite my Mercury (by 4 degrees) and Sun (by 6) haha...... I've never read that before.

I didn't know that Alice. Thanks! I always thought Jupiter was more about religious beliefs/churches..

Thank you for that Arnika. I've never felt the age gap with my mum.. so that rings true! And yes we are friends. The conjunction is in Pisces so all the more friendlier.

When Saturn is in the 9th or in Sagittarius, the final authority might be the church and/or your beliefs will limit you.

Saturn's boundaries are meant for protection. As you mature, they should move outward. Our first boundary is a crib, then a room, a house, a yard, a neighborhood..........and so on. And when we are fully matured, we are meant to become our own authority figure.
