I brought this topic up because of the topic, "I just had to share this- especially for the Pisces".... It made me think about certain signs I notice are afraid of getting old and some get better with age...

I am a Pisces and when I was very yougn I had this huge fear of one day I'll get old and die and my dad (Scorpio) said, "But we all do." and I never stressed over it anymore.

Over the years people try to look younger, stay younger because not of looking old but the fear of looking old then they will feel old and know they may die...

Like taureans for example: I notice they have this thing about trying to stay and look young and they fear getting old. Caps are better with age and enjoy life more.. I think they feel the more they enjoy life the healthier they will be, I don't think they start thinking this way till they get into there 30's. Virgos try and stay healthy at an old age so they live longer. Earth signs I notice are way more focused on looking and being younger because they are more of the material signs of the zodiac. Looks are so important to them! I think fire signs are too busy living in the moment to worry they are getting older. Air signs I think are just simply fascinated with the prossess of getting old.

Do any other Pisceans not worry about death?... I think about after life stuff but actually dieing doesn't scare me because we all go through it, we all die. I don't understand why there is a fear, if there is something after this life than there is, if there isn't then there isn't!!! It baffles me why people fear it so much!

After a friend of mine died it made me even more not afraid of death, but in some cases I think people that don't fear death can actually become bad to society if they don't actually care if they do die now and not when that time comes and end up being killers etc because they don't think death is bad or fear it. Thinking about not being afraid of death, that basically it is the ultimate fear right so then you wouldn't be afraid of anything really?..

I don't meet too many people unafraid of the unknown/death, it's my favorite part about life, the ride ... Do any other signs or Pisceans feel this way?

Hey Aquamarine,

I do think similar (maybe not to such an extent). I guess its just the understanding that everyone has to die someday that might remove the fear of dying.
I can't really say of others, whether they fear or not fear of death. Lot of people never think of it, so they may not be even aware of being afraid or otherwise.

Anyways what I noticed is your style of writing is so much similar to mine. I used to write (describe things) in similar style ...maybe few years ago and not now (how old are you ...just wondering if age changes writing styles, as maybe mine had changed a bit)

I think death appears to us in many masks throughout our lives, but we dont see death's face until the end. By then, I think, if we have lived well, the face of death will not frighten us. I think death has a lot to do with regret.

Even so, it is natural to fear the unknown, and, unless we have aquired (or been convinced of some) inside knowledge, death is likely to remain an unknown factor in our lives; a loose thread; a messy thing for which no clear place can be found. Hence, it is necessarily disturbing.

The reflection that it is something we all face does not satisfy me, and I dont know why this would comfort anyone. If I knew that Charles Manson was waiting at the end of everybody's life, to stab them in the neck and hack them up nice and slow-like, I dont think this would be a comfort to me.

On the other hand, the reflection that we can do nothing about it would be helpful. For some reason, we tend to abandon our panic, and conserve our energies, when it is clear that our fate is unavoidable. But, then, I dont have this luxury either, - I am haunted by the suspicion that I could "cheat" death, if only I studied up on it!

As for old age, I'm not that scared of it. I have always been out of shape, lol. And I have always had my mind on eternal, or, at least, impersonal, things, so, no change there. On the contrary, I look forward to the people around me getting old, and finally wanting to discuss the things which are of interest to me. Also, people will finally take my opinion seriously. They'll think its been formed over decades of experience, but it'll be the same intuitively inspired stuff I've been telling everyone from day one. Ha-ha!

One more day to complete my service
One more high to decay my nervous
Wondering how I'm gonna find a way
It's over

One more day to complete my service
One more time here to fade my servant
Wondering how I'm gonna find a way
Over

She seen through me and mine
And I know a later time
We could make it with you
We're the same

Old age
Old age
Old age

One more day to complain, my servant
One more doubt here to find a servant
Wondering how I'm gonna find
It's over

Wondering how I'm here date my cover
One more doubt here to save my never
Wondering how I'm gonna find a way
It's over

She seemed true me and mine
And I know a later time
We and we're you to you
Leave the soul

Old age

Just you need and read you free
Hmmm
And knew
You read
You flew
Ooo
Hmmmmm

One more day to complete my circuit
One more high here to find my nervous
Someday I'm gonna find a way
It's over

One more doubt here to claim my supper
I can have anything you wanted
Wondering how I'm gonna find a way
It's over

And I know we're out of time
Breathe away here with you
Dream the same on the dew
Breathe the same on her
Breathe to moan on a man
Breathe and shame on you
He's late

Aqua, interesting post!

Pisces sun here. Ever since I can remember, even as a little girl, I have not been afraid of "death." I have always seen it as a transition. I think "death" to be just as if not more natural than "birth!"

I am a RN in an ICU and deal with death frequently and when left to come in it's natural state is very peaceful, graceful.

I look forward to this transition when it is time for me. Until then I embrace life, but do not fear death.

I don't fear death, but I find the idea of "old age" -- my body breaking down -- extremely unpleasant.

I can't conceive of my consciousness ending. It obviously doesn't wear out or break down. It's intangible, non-physical -- therefore not subject to "age" or "entropy". I perceive no change in its vitality as "time" passes. So how could it end? Thus I have no fear of death as an ending.

The body is a different story. Having been programmed since birth, as we all are, to believe in the illusion of time as a concrete reality, and with the false assumption that our bodies are only meant to last seventy-or-so years, I worry that I'll succumb to these psychological forces and allow the premature destruction of my body. Then there's the matter of pollution, so ubiquitous in our self-poisoned environment, that works to prevent the proper maintenance of my human shell. The worst of which, no doubt, is that I still smoke these damned cigarettes. (That, I know I can change; I'm just procrastinating.) I don't want to be weak, or ugly, or unable to function here in the third dimension. I still enjoy it all too much. So, as the earth continues to revolve around the Sun, I'm getting more concerned with doing everything i can to combat these negative factors and maintain a good state of health. What else can I do?

When it's time for me to leave this world, however it may happen, I'm determined to go gracefully. But I'll avoid it as much as I possibly can. I still haven't done everything that I want to do here.

i am not a fellow Piscean but just another person who is afraid of old age... death is also scary to me ,leaving loved ones, breaking free from all the emotional attachments i have with loved ones in this life is too painful to even think about..i hav never experienced a death of a loved one maybe thats why..
old age is a fear inside my heart that i want to fight back..i want to reverse but i know it has to happen to everyone.. it is sad to think i wont have all this energy, this stamina,..this face... its really sad but i know i have to face it one day (right now,i dont know how?)
i wish i could be more like above it all..but im not ..i think too deeply abt getting old, 2 yrs back i was so sad that i didnt even want to celebrate my 23rd birthday!...
i dont think this has to do much with a persons sign..im an air sign,i think abt getting old every day..

Pisces Sun 8th house sextile Neptune trine Pluto.

Nope not afraid

Noticed those with charts heavy in Air [as in difficult for them to get out of their head] seem to have the biggest fear.

Having Capricorn on the 8th house cusp or Saturn in the 8th house can signify a fear of getting old and of dying.

I'm looking forward to death really in the way that a good pupil looks forward to exam time. I don't want any retakes mind, and i hope that following this latest 'test' i am finally 'qualified' for the spirit realm.
I have seen my grandad grow old and despite being comfortably off and successful as a younger man he goes through alot of pain and physical discomfort now. I don't want that. Finances are also a major concern when thinking about old age.

I'm not a Pisces, but I do have Neptune as a singleton, in the 12th house, in Scorpio.

When I was a kid, about 10 - I went through a phase that was all about pondering death, and I was terrified of the concept. I wasn't thinking of my own death, but the death of my parents, mainly my mom. When I first realized that everyone dies eventually, it occured to me that I would probably have to endure the death of my beloved mommy, and that was a reality that I just couldn't bare to embrace at the time (of course, I was only 10 and still needed my mommy for everything). Then, over time I got tired of worrying about it, and I was comforted by the probability that I wouldn't have to endure that any time soon. So, I pushed it to the back of my mind.

Now, from time to time, I realize that I'll shuffle off this mortal coil eventually, and what gives me pause is how heartbreaking my own death will be to those who love me - my daughter, my sisters, my spouse, my parents (though they'll likely go before me)- But, I don't fear making the journey. I quite look forward to it. I have so many questions about life that I'd like answered. I have a list of questions that I intend to bring up when I pass over, to see if the enlightended ones can help me answer them. I know they can.

I think if we live with an open heart, and always try to be good to each other, we'll have nothing to fear when we die. No regrets, no guilty conscience, no bad karma to absolve. The only sad part about it should be how much we'll be missed by those we leave behind.

As for our aging bodies - I'm trying hold that off as well as I can. I just don't want to be in pain. I want to be able to come and go as I please, and do whatever notion comes to mind. If I want to rock-climb when I'm 65, then I don't want a frail body to get it the way of that. If I want to frollick on the beach with my grandchildren, then I don't want artheritis of the joints to make that impossible. I also don't want to be disregarded as a stodgy, complaining old fossil - someone who everyone avoids.

As for laugh lines and worry lines - I'll earn every one of them honestly, so I'll accept them as they come. My beauty won't fade because it comes from the inside. Of course, I won't have much luck chasing young bucks around anymore lol...but if I find myself single when I'm old gal, I'm sure I'll still have some male suiters calling. They just better be able to keep up!

PS: My rising sign, Sagittarius - is known to have a youthful attitude throughout life, and it's ruler, Jupiter, for me is in the 9th house, in Virgo, squaring my ascendant, so I'm hoping that will keep me in line in terms of living a healthy lifestyle, and remaining youthful, regardless of my age. Thanks, Virgo Jupiter. You're alright by me.

PS: The only thing to fear about getting old is becoming boring. That's entirely optional.

My father is terrified of becoming old. Like my mom told me they used to get into extreme arguments because he would try and convince her that she was wrong and that he'd be the only person on earth who wouldn't get old...

He's a Taurus sun (10th house)..however, his Moon is in Leo as is his Uranus and both are in his first house.

I, too, afraid of getting old. I mean, I know that it must happen but I'm only 19 and I'm fretting about 20. Like really fretting. I was upset about turning a teenager when I was 11/12...I was mad about becoming a "double digit" when I turned 10. I don't obsess about it but it is in the back of my mind.

However, lately Saturn hitting all my personal planets is making me "get over it".

But I also have the Moon in Leo (10th house) and Sun in the 1st house, MC in Leo. ...My moon is a singleton too, so maybe it's a Leo thing or aspects to 10th house planets kind of thing.

I'm not afraid of death ( I am actually fascinated by it) it's just the whole growing old aspect of life but idk. Like I said, lately I've been getting over it.

Villy,

Someone once before asked about my sun sign etc. because this person thought we typed similar.

I have Rising Virgo, Sun Pisces, Chiron, Lilith, and Midheaven Gemini. So did this other person, we found it very interesting.

I noticed people that have the same Rising, Sun, and Chiron type/write similar.

Rising: Virgo
Sun: Pisces/ Aries Cusp
Moon: Cancer
Merc: Pisces
Venus: Aries
Mars: Sag

Wow, Saturn sat on my sun 2 years ago and I had the same attitude. It's gonna go in my eighth house soon too. I wonder if it will make even more aware that I'm just a mere mortal

But I'm a cappy rising, so you know what that means

Aquamarine..

I too am Pisces and my Biological dad is a Scorp..

When I was younger I use to fear death, I had no idea what it really consist of. It wasn't until I excepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior that I really began to understand. I am not afraid of death at all. I hurt more at the thought of someone else's death then of my own. I have a Pisces Son and he seems to be interested in death. I have to tell him all the time don't worry.

Also I know that I look atleat 10 years younger then I am so that would put me at about 28. And its nothing I try very hard at doing. I just age slowly.. I do not know if that is a Pisces thing or something in one's genes..

Mama Mia,

A lot of Piscean women have Scorpio fathers. I found that interesting.

Yeah, my dad was the only person could interest me about death rather than fear it when I was a child... Since I got over my fear, over the years I never really, really thought about ageing and or afraid of death but after a best friends death a few years back I realized we go when we are supposed to so there is no point in being afraid of dieing if it's your time.

Ageing and wrinkles in itself to me is just so natural so I actually look forward to one day going through all that getting old wrinkles and all. I honestly think I will be a crazy old women that laughs a lot!! I just always take whatever opportunity I have and make the most of it so I do agree with someone posted that fear of getting old does have a lot to do with regret.

I have read that Pisces people age badly... A lot of Pisceans are drinkers so could be the reason why but maybe the ones that are not so hooked on the bottle age well or even better than most?

I am pretty young so I am not sure about how that will go for me. lol!

Then I must be an exception – I have 5 planets in Air, 4 of them in Airy houses….. No I don’t fear death – I’m with mcm and lioneye about fearing pain and loss of financial support and being boring more than the actual shedding of the physical shell. I’ve read that being born is much harder on the spirit than dying…..

When I was several decades younger I used to fret about not getting everything done that I wanted to do. Now that astrology and related metaphysical studies have convinced me that we have had many lives and probably will come back again to SchoolRoom Earth, I don’t feel that constant urge to achieve a lot of goals and I’m happier and more serene in my daily life. Challenges don’t upset me and knock me for a loop like they did when I was younger…..

And I have experienced the deaths of a parent and friends. Perhaps that lends a certain perspective.

Mama and hippi ~ I got consistently carded in my 30’s too! People usually guess my age anywhere from 5-15 years less than I am chronologically

It isn't death that I fear but LOOKING old now that's a whole different ball park! I will fight it, even if I have to be the botox queen lol.
I know it sounds superficial but you asked for honesty and skin creams, lazer treatments, chemical peels, botox and nips and tucks wouldn't be bringing in millions of dollars if A LOT of women didn't feel the same way.
Anyway, with sun, moon, mercury and uranus all in libra (in the eleventh house, no less), I'm a whole lot of air and it is a HUGE issue to me.
Just being honest (don't stone me.......)
