hey i wanted to know which sign or what makes someone unapproachable....is it the ascendant?
like i have an aquarius asc and a cancer sun.. so ppl think i m a snob... but actually i m not? any other signs...feel this way????

When I get in my solitude state of being ppl tend to think the same about me. I just want to be quiet and still for a little while.I am no where near close to being a snob, I feel I am very down to earth..I too am Aqua Asc.. Pisces Sun IP: Logged |

I have a capricorn ascendant and cancer sun and people often think the same thing about me. I'm too aloof for them.It's just that I like to keep to myself sometimes, I'm nowhere near being snobbish.IP: Logged |

I can be a bit 'stand-off-ish', or 'aloof' some may say. It's just that I'm not always in the mood to merge, so to speak. Sometimes I just want my own head-space.I think Leos do tend to be aloof at times, and my Aquarius moon just wants to detach from the group and gather it's own independant impressions. I think that's how Aquarians manage to remain objective and rational. IP: Logged |

My sister is a Leo with Cappy ascendant and Scorp moon. She admits to being difficult to approach and cool.My mother is a Cappy and she also is aloof. My Father is an Aries and very very friendly and easy to approach, so am I (Scorpio Sun, Aries Asc, Taurus Moon).

I'm very friendly but some people think I'm a snob when they first meet me for some reason.. I can be quiet at times. (virgo sun, scorpio moon, sag ascendant)My mom is one of the friendliest people I know, and she has Capricorn sun and aquarius moon.. not sure about her ascendant, though. IP: Logged |

The thing that came to mind for me is planet in house positions..one would think that an aries with gemini rising would be extraverted and approachable - until you look at my chart. Mars in Cappy in the 8th opposite my Cancer Moon by sign. Mercury and Saturn in the 12th in Taurus.Most of the time I have a poker face and people find it hard to read me. Emotiuons are well controlled and to some it seems like I wear a mask to hide myself. I can be very enigmatic with a leave me alone impression. With Merc in the 12th - nobody evers knows what I think about stuff. There are many hidden things about me that people will never know. That is my 2 cents on signs difficult to approach. Hmmm..... I'm not sure that it would be the Ascendant alone. Both my best friend and I have Scorpio Ascendants but everyone feels free to approach me. Strangers talk to me all the time...... I'm the person people go up to in Walmart and ask where so and so is found (instead of asking the people who work there, lol)....... I have Libra Sun and Moon but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.My best friend is a Sag/Capricorn moon and she is actually friendly when you get to know her but often gives the impression of being aloof. Trust me, strangers do not approach her! She actually just lives in her head sometimes and has a larger "space bubble" than I do. IP: Logged |

hard to approach seems to be how im described pretty often. im an aquarius with an aries asc and a leo moon. i dont know what it is that makes me so unapprochable, im just shy. and people take it the wrong wayIP: Logged |

Cap moon and Cap Asc... people dislike me and think I'm a snob constantly. Aqua Mars also makes it hard to "be like" everyone else. I try to get along, but people mostly look at me like I am an alien.
When the Libra sun is shining people like me at first, and then begin to become suspicious of my friendliness. They assume anyone that honest or friendly must have an evil agenda. Some just think I'm a ditz, "legally blonde".
So I just sit here on the Island of Misfit Toys.... Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah
hehehe My daughter loves me... oh whatever will I do when she becomes a teenager!?

i am extremely a big no! no! to approach..lol
thats what most of the guys tell me when they finally managed to break the ice!
i am sure its because of my rising in virgo..or maybe even because of cancer in mercury,someone told me that mercury stands for how open we are at communication with others... who knows.. but i can tell you its no fun being like this

ya actually... i find more aquarians,leos,virgos and capricorns who come across as snobs to others even though they may be actually shy....me too i think ppl find me serius,dedicated in my work,not having a smiley face,not over dressed,and i find guys staring at me as if i m an alien.....IP: Logged |

I am a Libra sun,Scorpio moon,Aquarius ascendant.Many people have said they find it hard to approach me,I think it may be that Aquarius ascendant,like others have posted already.Maybe because there is a detached look about us or something,but a few boyfriends have told me once we started dating that they thought I was a snob until they really got to know me.I couldnt believe it because I feel so far from a snob,I used to have really low self-esteem,but lately Ive been realized the good things.Peace and Love, Eliza ps.I get that "alien stare" also,but I never know if its me,or the fact that I have "unusual hair"(dreadlocks).But it definately makes me wonder. I have a Virgo Rising. I never get good first impressions. After people actually get to know me, they always say that they're surprised, because they thought I was snobby, arrogant, self-obsessed, etc, etc, etc.IP: Logged |

Hey,
Just wanted to back up the aquarius ascendent theory. I get this all the time, with people thinking that I am a bit stand-offish when I am really just shy or off wondering in my head. I think any major aqua influence in general can give off this detached vibe. Also the fact that a lot of aqua's can be easily misunderstood because they live in a world quite unlike anyone elses. People take a look and think. "hmmm..... that's different..." and anything different can potentially scare them a bit. IP: Logged |

I've been told the same, that I seem like I don't want to be approached [even though that isn't the case]. Also, I've been told I don't smile enough .... But I always thought I smiled all the time. well…….I find Gemini, Virgo & Aquarians hard to approach. The reason being they’re too observant…and it’s kind of weird meeting someone as observant as me…I notice EVERYTHING - unless I’m in my weird mood. Once I meet them, it’s like a showdown…who can outstare the other  or who glances at the other the most Weirdness…otherwise I love them three  IP: Logged |

cute crab -That's a good question. I'm surprised there are so many of the same Signs mentioned here. I'm wondering if these people experience that reaction from people all the time. How long does that seem to last before you either walk out the door or break the ice? Does anyone know someone who TRIES to come off snobbish cuz it's part of there defensive M.O.? Do you think they are not fooling anyone? BlueEyes24 - I don't know if you know who Beyonce Knowles is, but I remember an interview a few years back, or a docu or something -- anyways, that when she was growing up she had the same stuff happen to her, and that it became a very painful thing that she's constantly trying to avoid ... She is a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon too. I was trying to find her mother's astro info, but couldn't. Beyonce is extremely fond of her mother too. Hints on the reasons are that Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon tends to want to implement what they know to be right. Realize you just MAY BE right, but that your Virgo Sun is being underestimated by your Scorpio Moon. It may not even be part of your logic, or what's going on with you internally, but it's all about how those around you are being affected. This is a difficult lesson, and I'm going to start a thread about Virgo vs. Scorpio energies cuz I've noticed something. Personally, I think that in their relationship, Beyonce will NEVER fully know herself until her mother has passed on. They've probably talked about death a lot, and continually prepare themselves spiritually for the possibility. It has strengthened them. ------------------

Hi Astro, of course I know who Beyonce is!  That's neat that she has the same sun & moon sign as me. I used to be extremely shy when I was younger, but I'm very outgoing now. I have a Sag ascendant, and lots of jupiter aspects in my natal chart. Virgo/Scorpio is a very hard combo to deal with. I used to have trouble in my personal relationships, because I would have all these feelings that I kept inside, (i.e. jealousy), but I would never want to verbalize them, because of my Virgo sun. But I have gotten a lot better with that now. I have also found that all through my life, I have always tried very hard to be liked by EVERYONE. A lot of times, I put the needs of other before my own needs, which isn't good sometimes. Maybe this is because my moon and venus are in the 11th house?IP: Logged |
