I've often read that the sun to moon aspect is very important between 2 people; ALL the long lasting relationships amongst my friends and family have this aspect - BUT at the expense of favourible sun to sun aspects. For example: can sun, aries moon - gem sun, taurus moon.In a case like this you cant have both; if it was can sun aries moon - taur sun gem moon they would have compatible suns, but no sun to moon connection. WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT? IP: Logged |

Both can be helpful in relationships. But one couple might have their suns in harmony, but not many other "good" aspects in the synastry. I think moon-moon contacts are actually more important than sun-sun contacts, imo. My boyfriend and I have opposite suns (me virgo, him pisces) but our moons are trined (me scorpio, him cancer). I know many couples who have squared suns, but they have many other wonderful aspects in their synastry.IP: Logged |

squares or oppositions can be energizing and/or magnetizing aspects IP: Logged |

jason, I honestly think that when you can engage the sun with the moon, particularly in a conjunction, you're getting a "heart & soul" mix, and it's such a non-competitive, natural blending of energy. It's like the sun says "wow, someone really gets me!" and the moon says "I get you, cuz I feel the same way, deep down"The moon person feels freed by having the sun person to embody the way they feel. They tend to live vicariously through them, and "feel" where their coming from. The sun person feels substantiated by the moon person's subliminal support. I have this with my Virgo. I'm a Leo. Our sun sign combo is not typically considered a harmonius blend, Leo-Virgo. On a side note, more and more, I'm noticing signs next to each other on the Zodiac as couples. Hmm. Linda talked about this. We progress through the signs in the order of the zodiac, so we have much to learn from the sign in front of us. That's where we need to go next! We have considerable tolerance for the foibles of the sign previous to our own. We just learned that stuff! IP: Logged |

Hmmmmm I have Sun conjunct Sun and Sun conjunct moon with my guy. One is in Synastry and one is in the composite. We often have communication with out words, I get him right away and vise versa.Even when we are not together I can still lfeel him..I just know way to much sometimes.. IP: Logged |

For me I always thought that this depends on the individual person and their individual sun moon combination. I'm a Virgo with an Aries moon and I have a neat little variety of friends some Gemini, an Aries, Scorpio, Leo... but either our sun or moons are compatable. Actually, nuts to what I do because I tend to go for people whose suns go with my sun and whose moons go with my moon but the suns and moons clash!
Hmmmm I'd say the sun moon relationship is almost stronger cos then you have that emotional link too.... but only if this is two-way. IP: Logged |

I agree with Lioneye. There's a natural inborn empathy for people who's Sun sign matches your Moon sign -- even if that Sun sign doesn't go well with your Sun.IP: Logged |

Just to be a pain, I say asc plays a role..and how all three interact with each other is important! scorp sun, aries moon, cap asc with taurus sun, virgo moon, leo asc girlsun are opposites, water/earth. sun/moon is water to earth. my moon/her asc is fire to fire, her moon to my asc is earth to earth. Another in agreement with Lioneye. I've got sun in Cap, moon in Pis, and asc in Leo. I've found that although I'm very physically attracted to other earth signs, and I can converse with them with ease, I never have my emotional needs fulfilled - even when their moon is in a water sign. By contrast, I do really well with those who have their sun in a water sign and either a lot of earth or fire in the rest of their chart. I'm currently with a Scorp sun, Leo moon, Taurus asc. There's a deep connection there on all levels. IP: Logged |

So I guess the general concensus is that moon to sun makes more of a difference than sun to sun, in a love relationship.Ive noticed that most of the guys Ive gone for have been the sun to moon deal, but my friends tend to be sun to sun. I always wonder 'if I had a good sun to sun with a lover: would it be easier.' However, so far I just dont seem to go for them. Maybe as I grow up, and dont need such emotional support, I can be free to have a pure sun to sun, or maybe thats just my harsh, un-emotional, headmistress virgo moon talking!!? Oh and lioneye: both of my biggies were on either side of me! (sag)1st scorp; 2nd cap - and gee did I learn from the cap - and I think I taught the scorp a thing or two: even though he was way older! Funny thing is that the learner, him 1st and me 2nd, took the end the hardest - no one wants to lose their teacher, I guess! IP: Logged | |
