One of my degrees is in Criminology and so I was looking through a few websites for prisoners (mostly in the U.S.) who are searching for penpals.

Most of the websites have the prisoner's birthdates listed in their personal ads. I found it interesting that most of the male prisoners tended to be either Cancer, Libra (many on the cusp of Scorpio), Taurus or Capricorn.

Now, this was just from perusing ads, but I did look at dozens.

I know sun sign astrology is not indicative of whether one goes to prison or not, but I still thought this was interesting.

Especially since I'm a Cancer Sun/Taurus Moon/Cancer Ascendant! LOL

Love

*Edit ~ Most Taureans on these sites are born between May 3 -10

* Edit ~ Fewest? Virgos!

Okay, so here is the break down for one site:

From most prisoners to least ~

Libra/Capricorn ~ tied for first place
Taurus (a VERY close second)
Cancer
Pisces
Aquarius (most likely born during the first week of February)
Leo
Sagittarius
Gemini
Aries
Scorpio (most likely to be born near the 12th of November)
Virgo (dead last)

I must add that these are the observations of an insomniac so take it all with a grain of salt.

Bob Marks has done extensive research, mostly on murderers thougth.

I believe Pidaua also had some good info on this subject and offered us another site. I'll try and look for it.

Fascinating subject.

That's a very interesting research, Love. My ex-bf used to be in and out of prison, sometimes kind of perplexed me since I thought Cancerians are supposed to be "soft." He does have Moon in Scorpio though, not too sure about his ascendant.

You must not know OJ Simpson and Mike Tyson.

OJ Simpson has Sun,Mercury, and Venus in Cancer with Moon in Pisces.

Mike Tyson has Sun in Cancer.

I would be interested to see the list of birthdates. My guess is that it's not just the sun sign that's causing the problem, but some really poor aspect.

It's interesting that in this test that the more "firey/ masculine planets" are at the bottom of the list (except Virgo) perhaps because they are used to handling their anger. while men who are of feminine sun signs and more emotional in nature are more strongly affected by poor upbringing and are less skilled at dealing with their emotional natures and are then more prone to unskilled behavior.
Cancerians don't surprise me, if they have a poor foundation in life early on... watch out. Water can heal, but it can turn into a raging hurricane and kill.

I agree, I'm not really shocked about cancer either. Were not always soft, we have a shell for a reason you know. I also agree that the reason for this may be the childhood background.

Of course this is definitely not scientific research by any means, just the ramblings of a partially exhausted gal - but yeah the Cancer/water sign thing doesn't surprise me either. If you're super emotional then you have more room for extreme behaviour, no?

Okay, I'm still too tired to respond properly. Did this make sense? Wow. I need a nap.

He has Capricorn Sun, Pisces Moon which is disposited by stationary retrograde Neptune.

Yeah, eh... to think about it he didn't exactly have the best upbringing... I was like his anchor in life. I just didn't think he would be the type to hit me (no, he never hit me). He was kind, but really contradictory.

Ah jeez. Memories

I am not convinced.

These look like the stats on prisoners who are looking for pen pals, not the stats of the general prison population. Maybe only certain types of prisoners want pen pals, particularly those prisoners who feel lonely and need emotional connection. That the top of the line would be Libra is not surprising as Libras do not like to be alone. That Scorpio and Virgo would be dead last is not surprising as Scorpio and Virgos generally do well with being alone.

I would need to look at statistical data for the general prison population before I can ascertain astrological trends.

Belage ~ as I said, this was just for interest's sake. There's NO statistical validity whatsoever. And you made some good points there.

Dulce ~ All things aside, that EXACT thought crossed my mind too! LMAO!!!!!!

Love -

I studied criminology in college too (not degree'd with it though cz I was too green) ...

But the way I boxed this stuff was, here are the Sun Signs of males who made it all the way to prison time, who were really intent on reaching someone out there in the real world via the multiple advantages of the Internet ... hope you caught that subtlety.

I very much appreciate your interest, time and posts, and has given me a lot to think about for sure.

One aspect that can show prison is
Pluto (bondage) square the
Ruler of the Ascendant (self)
from the 9th (justice) to the 12th (Prison)

What about people who work in prisons?
I knew three our four, (Cancers and Leos).

I agree that Libra, Taurus, Cancer-love socializing. Could be why more write to pen pals.

That's interesting, and I can see the Pluto Square Ruler of Asc > & 12th (Prison)

But I wasn't seeing the 9th being Justice... in my world, that's Libra/7th House. How do you figure ...

Hi AJ
Justice is not really a good word but I was blocked
Court of Law or or our judiciary system fits much better.

Oh ...

Do you like the way the House Rulers are spread out in the link below? Is this what you mean? I'm still stuck on the 7th, but I'm seeing what you mean in terms of an overall system, although it's not fully hitting me yet ... and then I keep thinking of the 8th as having to do with psychiatry or psychiatric institutions, but the following link doesn't really say that either :::

www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/houses.htm

(I mention this link cz I happen to like the way it has laid out each House)

Hi AJ,
The 7th house would be getting arrested and
the 9th would be going to court and sentencing.
Justice covers the 9th house but wasn't the right word for this example
because not everybody who goes to jail is guilty. So justice isn't being served.
Justice was off but Court isn't
I'll check out that link

Hi Again,
I read it, good website, its accurate.
I think I know where you are stuck.
If you take 9th house matters you don't think of Sagitarius as being a judge, you think of Libra and the scales.
But courts are a 9th house issue. Because the 9th rules higher institutions.
