This can happen for many reasons, including a hiccup in the server, to human error. It's happened to me when I type out my well-thought response, and for some reason I've typed in my password incorrectly. The post will not go through and while you are forwarded to a page which tells you what happened, the post is sort of lingering in another dimension until, and if, you retrieve it. Think of it as being held on a temporary clipboard by a little troll. Depending on your own harddrive and the settings you have either accepted or chosen, your post will be lost for sure, or, you may have a chance to grab that troll by the ears and retrieve it. If your computer is set to save it's cache (history of pages visited), you have a better chance of retrieving if you hold your breath, close your eyes and click your heels. If your computer's cache doesn't seem to understand what you want, none of that mumbo jumbo will work no matter what you do. My suggestion, and what I try to remember to do myself, is if you are building a post where you're putting a lot of realtime thought into it, save it to your "clipboard" for insurance. Any problems with the Web site itself should be addressed to the Webmaster, and they can be reached by clicking on the CONTACT US link. But that's the basic explanation. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

Every paragraph I write, I go back and highlight everything writen so far and ctrl+ c it. At worst you lose a paragraph. As extra back up, open up a simple word document (word pad) and ctrl+ v the response and save replies as a file, in case something happens. two seconds of effort, and it works like a charm and saves you the pain, cursing and annoyance of retyping long well thought out replies and posts. Heya AJ ,I'm doing well. I haven't travelled far from home this year, and probably won't be until next year. My new job is keeping me very busy these days. I really like it. Aside from travel and work, life is starting to begin for me. Amy IP: Logged |
