Hello all,

since I`ve started learning astrology, I`ve been interested in finding out the signs of unrequited love in a chart.

Do you think you can read in a chart, who will probably be more attracted to the other person?
And if you can read it in a chart, which aspects or placements or constellation hint at unrequited feelings?

Thank you.

Heck, I'd be interested in this myself. A lot has to do with the person's free will, but I would bet there's something to what you are wondering.

Hmmmm... Maybe one person's planets falling in the others personal houses?

Example: A female's planets all fall in the male's 4th, 8th, 7th, & 12th houses.. but his planets fall into her more "social" houses, such as the 3rd and 11th house.

I'm not sure though.. I'm just guessing.

I really wish I had this certain guy's birthdate, because he's a classic example of this. He was madly in love with my close friend and she just looked at him as crazy and obsessed. I know he is a Scorpio, though.

Oh, and I have known 2 guys with Venus in Virgo (their venus conjuncts my Sun in Virgo) who were very attracted to me, but the feeling wasn't mutual. So maybe that could be one of the aspects? Just realized they were both Leos too, weird.

I've met guys who's personal planets have conjunct my venus, and I felt very strong love for them and it wasnt always mutual.
Uranus aspects made it all go away very fast though lol. Thank God.
I realise now it was just "venus"
It was in my 8 house though, his mars on my venus one time, and I thought about him sexually day and night, I couldnt sleep and was about to lose my mind because of it, so it must have been the 8 houses fault too.
I never felt anything as strong as that.
We had many other aspects too, my sun on his north node, and the attraction was STRONG both ways.

I agree with BlueEyes about the house and planets in positions. But also I've encountered looking at synastry charts where you'll have one persons Venus heavily aspected while the other person doesn't have any Venus aspected(naturally the Venus person feels the attraction more). Or for another example a mans Moon is hit hard by the womans planets but there are no contacts what so ever to the womans Moons. It could be onesided in that kind of way.

In a natal chart it may be:

- unaspected Moon and/or Venus;

- hard aspects to Venus from Pluto, Saturn, Chiron;

- Venus conj any malefic fixed star;

- Venus at anaretic degree;

My Venus doesn't aspect my gal's planets, and I am very attracted to her. Her Venus is trine my Ascendant with only 3 minutes of arc,and she is very attracted to me. I think the strong mutual attraction is probably our Ascendants in opposition with 16 minutes of arc. That means our Descendants conjunct each other's Ascendant. Therefore, we view each other as natural partners.

I also feel that 8th house is factor. It's the house of sex.

My Scorpio Sun,Mercury, and Venus in her 8th house. Her Aries Sun,Mercury, and Mars in my 8th house.
even our 8th house rulers,Mars sextile each other. My Mars is in Aquarius.
Her 5th house ruler,Moon in Scorpio conjuncts my Sun and trine my Moon.

you can check the synastry if you want.

Glaucus, wow I didn't know that, but then you probably have other strong contacts with her. Venus was only one example, I think you've posted somewhere before on the board the aspects you and your girlfriend have. Your Moons touch(one of the best to have). This is going to hurt, but I am going to use it in an example/test. What kind of attraction does this combo have? It's me and a guy that broke my heart long time ago, and I could never figure out why? This is a really good example of lack of or one sided attraction.

librachoice,

I did mention the ascendant oppose ascendant(ascendant conjunct descendant both ways) as factors as well as strong 8th house synastry both ways.

I will check out the synastry of you and that guy.

See...you lucky guy! There are plenty love factors there to override the Venus thingy. That's one thing that got me into astrology, the attraction between people and I used to work for a dating service a few years back, but they never really used astrology or charts to look at compatibility. I think their success rate would have been better if they would have intergrated it into the program

Honestly I don't think that it had anything to do with the synastry.

That dude has Venus square Uranus with 1'31 orb. That indicates that he has a highly unstable, erratic love nature. That makes it very challenging to settle down in a relationship. Independence and love can Yconflict with each other.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of unrequited love situations involved a challenging Venus-Uranus aspect in a natal chart of the one that wasn't attracted.
could be challenging Sun-Uranus and challenging Mars-Uranus in a female's chart who doesn't return the love. challenging Moon-Uranus,Venus-Uranus in male's chart who doesn't return the love.

He also has Moon square Saturn which can indicate possible restrictions, limitations when it comes to relationships with women. He could be pessimistic when it comes to women.

Sun-Mercury square stationary Neptune seems like a person that is very confusing, hard to pin down, illusive, and possibly deceptive. He can be confused and have a hard time finding himself. Stationary Neptune sesquiquadrate Midheaven adds to that. Those things can make a relationship difficult.

His Venus square Chiron in 7th with 1'43 orb indicates that there can be a sense of inadequacy in love and relationships due to being hurt, wounded in relationships.

His Venus is square the Chiron-Uranus opposition for a t-square. That puts a lot of emphasis on the stresses of unpredictability, instability, pain, wounds, inadequacy
when it comes to love and relationships.

Not being involved with this guy is a good thing. He could have suddenly, unpredictable changes in how he feels about and could have decided to be with somebody else. If his independence was threatened,he would have broken away. A restlessness in him that could make it hard for him to fully commit himself to one person for a long time.

It's always important to check natal aspects to see if there is possible issues that a person has that make it difficult for the person to be in a relationship.

another thing

You have Venus square Neptune with 1'33 orb. That indicates a highly idealitic, romantic love nature that can be very confusing, hard to pin down, illusive, and possibly deceptive. You can be confused and have a hard time finding yourself when it comes to love and relationships.

Challenging Venus-Neptune aspects are common in people who fall in love and are constantly desiring a soulmate that they can merge with. They could possibibly overlook flaws in their partner. This could set them up for deception. All of this can lead to disillusionment.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of unrequited love situations involve a challenging Venus-Neptune aspect in a natal chart.

I also believe it can be challenging Sun-Neptune and challenging Mars-Neptune aspect in a female's chart if she has an unrequited love. challenging Moon-Neptune and challenging Venus-Neptune aspect in a male's chart if he has an unrequited love.

Very interesting...and you said, "may be"

So, would then someone with Venus 29'Libra
sqaure Saturn 0' Capricorn be the one on the receiving end of unrequited love or the opposite?

I would say the person with such placement is not necessarily 'the one on the receiving end of unrequited love' but someone who 'may never feel loved enough'(even if they are loved) because this person needs much more affection than others and his/her requirements as for 'the quality' of intimate relationships are much more higher than average; or the native may have self-acceptance issues when he or she actually projects their problems onto others or this person just does not know how to accept love. Sometimes stressful aspects from any slow planet, IMO, are indicative of some heavy karmic debts the native will have to pay in this incarnation.

PERI!

What you just said to Stargazer really strikes a chord with me. I feel like that a lot, like there's never that quality i am looking for, never enough love?...maybe it's karmic debt, like you say.

Glaucus, does that possibly mean that it would work out with someone with similiar aspects(a man with a Venus/Neptune aspect)or would that just lead to more disillusion where we would never see each others flaws. Could it work at all?

Thank you Peri

This person, not me btw, has issues.. thats for sure....I think all of what you wrote applies....in some way.. especially the projection part... My SN conjuncts his Venus exact at that 29'... He just out of the blue one day told me that he was changing and that he was soooo unhappy and that the reason was me... ouch!

librachoice,

That's a hard question to answer. I think that it could go either way. The guy could be a very romantic type who wants to wine and dine you and write poetry to you. That same aspect could indicate that he thinks of his lovers as goddesses and can be disillusioned after he realizes that they are just mortals. Falling in love with love can set him up for disapointment. They could deceive themselves and/or others in love and relationships. So many possibilities that fit Venus-Neptune.

Venus-outer planet aspects are very complexed .

Here is something from Ruth Brummond's Rulebook. It lists possible positives and negatives for astrological configurations. It doesn't matter the aspect. Ruth Brummond is a uranian astrologer. uranian astrology and cosmobiology only use the hard aspects(conjunction, opposition, square, semisequare, and sesquiquadrate)because they are considered event-oriented aspects.

VE.NE.*
+ intuitive. empathic. sentimental. longing. daydreams. visionary. has unusual ideas about love. future-oriented. musically inclined. appreciates metaphysical realities. Prophetic person. Futuristic hobbies. Ambiguity about feelings or preferences. Love of water. Mild breeze. Pleasurable relaxation. Glands. Glandular secretions.
- has cravings. deluded. gushing. uncongenial. illusory. insincere. uncertain. wily. easily swayed. easily imposed upon. unfeeling. indifferent.
Uncertainty in love. Deceit in love. Unhappiness. Disharmony. Hopelessness. Indifference. Loss of sympathy. Sacrifice of or due to love.

Glaucus,

You said:

quote:
My Venus doesn't aspect my gal's planets, and I am very attracted to her.

In looking at your relationship (synastry) charts the thing that indicates your "connection" to me is that your Sun and Moon aspect each other (Sun-Sun and Sun-Moon). This indicates a "connection" between you, no matter what the lack of Venus connections to you may indicate. But this ALSO shows that ANY relationship is a CHOICE by the two people and, no matter what their astrological contacts, they can work out their relationship issues TOGETHER...if they really want to!

Relating,

Tim

wilson,

I agree

They were talking about Venus aspects, and so I pointed out that my Venus doesn't aspect her chart. I know that we have other connections. I feel our Ascendant oppose Ascendant is the main one because our ascendant conjunct each other's Descendant which is the relationship angle. Her Venus is trining my Ascendant with only 3 minutes of arc,and that's our most narrow orbed major aspect in our synastry.

As for the Sun-Sun contact,

Are you using a wide orb for quincunx?
I am just curious.
They are also in triseptile with 23 minutes of arc.

I actually have Sun septile Ascendant with 28 minutes of arc, and her Sun triseptiles my Ascendant with 4 minutes of arc and her Sun triseptile my Ascendant. It forms a 7th harmonic triangle. That means her Sun opposes my Sun/Ascendant midpoint with 10 minutes of arc.

I pay a lot of attention to the geometry in Astrology. Very fascinating stuff.

She has a Mercury-Venus semisextile, and her Pluto quindeciles those planets. It forms a skinny isosceles triangle. It is also Pluto oppose her Mercury/Venus midpoint.

I have been influenced by studies in Cosmobiology and Uranian Astrology, and so I look at midpoints a lot.

I agree with Glaucus that in a Synastry chart, Venus square Uranus makes for unrequited love, or at the very least, a love affair that will end up abruptly to everyone's surprise. I have seen that happen quite often.
