Topic: strange quirk

Hello! My very first post, have to admit, been lurking for far too long! Love to read everyones posts, very interesting. I have some strange "quirk" in my personality, which I am ready to seek some professional help on, and just thought i'd give it a whirl with all of you interesting astrologers! I can pinpoint things on other people, but when it comes to myself, i'm kind of blind!!! The strange quirk: I usually can't hold a friendship longer than a pint of ice cream in the freezer. (if you know me....isn't very long) The wierd part is, i'm usually fine with that, and I'm the one who stops calling, ignores the other person. It's not that I don't like/get along with them, it just that for some reason i'm not inclined to make it last. I make friends very easily, and I think people get dissapointed when I am not normal in this department! One of my favorite things to do is to go anywhere and start up a conversation with someone and it really doesn't bother me if I don't see them again. Even if it was a great time etc. I kind of look back and think..."wow, that was great, can't wait to talk to someone else next time.." It seems so aweful to put it into words, and I know it stems from possible childhood crapola, but wondering if it is planetary. I am not looking for something in my chart to blame this on.....I have learned a lot about astrology and would like to work with it on this one! I also have this avoidance thing going on that ties into it all, when someone calls, I kind of dread calling them back...all very wierd!! I love being alone!! Am I a closeted hermit???? The strangest part to me is with relationships, I am 100% involved with one person, always there, always answering the phone, not avoiding. And I kind of back myself into a "relationship corner" having no friends, but the "boyfriend".
I would love to post my chart, but can't figure it out!

Thank you for any responses! I am sorry to ask this question, but I thought I would give it a go! I am going to a shrink to help resolve this, it just seems to be getting in my way!
ps- I think pluto going direct may be helping me try to work on this!!!

I think its just all the Virgo in you, it makes you like change and therefore it doesn't bother if you meet and then lose them. Also having a Sco ascendant might want to keep things secret from others.Which house does your virgo planets fall in? That might have an impact as well. I've noticed that people with plenty of friends have a heavy emphasis of planets in the 11th house (naturally associate with Aqu). I am very similar too, I don't have many friends but have a stable partner. For me I think it is my Libran moon that allows me to have a partner. I'm Aqu sun which makes me distant to people and don't like people getting too close and Aries AC which gives me independence. IP: Logged |

Scorpio Ascendant means her Sun is likely in the 11th (Leo MC also implies this). Kind of an ironic placement for this quirk. I see the three pronged Cardinal Square, but I'm not sure that it signifies anything. I see Moon opposite Ascendant.

I've notices that you have your moon on the DC in Tau. I have this too except my moon and DC is in Lib. But still that should make you emotionally focused on one person.Strange how 11th house is Virgo and its ruler is in the 11th. I think again, it goes back to being a Virgo. It might have something to do with pluto as well, secretive as well. Your virgo sun/venus is in the 10th - directed towards career (again like me), so your ego isn't really focused on communities and friends. IP: Logged |

interesting! I guess these traits are common....as george Harrison said..."you know it don't come easy...."My sun and Venus are in the 10th and my Mercury is in the 11th. I have to be honest, i feel so self absorbed asking a question about myself!!! I don't know why, but thank you for replying! Scorpio's secretive streak rings true with me. I keep things hidden/unspoken until it's too late, and I practically have a panic attack!! It's been better, and I'm really working on it! A G- that's interesting, my sun in the 11th house, that's the house of social activities and friendships????? I have never had a hard time making a friend, it's just the keeping!

sky,With Libra (relationships) modifying Uranus (friends) at a "fate degree" (strong energy) conjunct (energy is combined with) Ascendant), you may find that you tend to want to have "friendly relationships"...close but not TOO close. You also have North node (the future) focused in the 1rst house (being), so you may tend to be working on yourself and who and what you want to be. Guessing, Tim IP: Logged |

thanks, huh, i never knew about that north node/1st house.....is that a permanent kind of thing or transiting....? I mean, I know, nothing is set in stone, or un-do able...but to think that I will always be working on myself....yeesh!It sounds like the work never gets done with that kind of thing....especially with over-analyzing virgo. i know some people like that. Marital type relationships.......(embarrasment) um, yes. Good call, I have had a 3 time string of them!!(lasting 1-3 years each!!) Just digging out now....I think Pluto is helping on that too!

Saturn in Cancer in the 9th house (structured intellectualism about personal space) is the apex of a T-square with the Jupiter-Uranus opposition. Uranus is also opposing the Moon. There are opposing forces of emotional conservatism and rebellious idealism. Maybe you have this "ideal" version of what a friend should be, and finding out that real people fall short of your expectations, you think, "Why bother connecting with them?" The way out of this 3-pointed tension is to cultivate the empty area opposite the apex planet Saturn, which is Capricorn-Aquarius in the 3rd house, which could translate into blending the conservative and innovative approach in communicating (written, verbal) with potential friends. People will just have to accept that you are unique in your approach to friendships, but a little adjustment on your part so that you'll seem more "accessible" won't hurt a bit. Hope this helps... and to paraphrase Tim (Wilsontc), you are the one who can truly make sense of the energies running through your own chart. kis-it is humbling to read your post, as it does describe the forces that are pulling/pushing with me. I have realized that being single lets me develop more of a friendship with those I feel do not take advantage of me. Being in a relationship however, at this stage of my life, has not worked. I focus directly on that person, who usually has a scad of problems, and I turn into caring/nursing/psychologist/mom type person. I will be looking into all that has been posted and delve into MY chart, instead of every one elses. Thanks!

I didn't find it strange.. It sounds familiar... although the reasoning behind it somewhat different...
You have a retrograde venus in Virgo along with Sun and Merc... me too.
You also have hard aspects between your moon and ASC & moon/uranus... me too.I agree with all the posts thus far... but I wanted to comment on this: ****"I focus directly on that person, who usually has a scad of problems, and I turn into caring/nursing/psychologist/mom type person.**** Its quite a balancing act between your need to serve/give and your need to be independent.. You attract chaos...the "lost cause" people...You can easily become an enabler to this type of person.. and more prone to being manipulated....or as you said,"taken advantage of"
I realized that I'd be better off wanting to be wanted vs. needing to be needed....
meeting that person whom you can be free of "administrative duties" a self- realized individual who does not need to be "fixed" will set your heart free...help you to redirect your retrograde venus energy outward so that your relationships don't feel that they come at a price... Just curious as to what sun signs you married? Its good to talk about it. We are here  Love and Light... Virgo/Aries/Capricorn
