I have heard a few people refered to as an old soul when looking at their chart. I have even heard someone here refer to themselves that way (sorry can't remember who) Does anyone have any info on this?I was wondering how one would be determined an old soul or a young soul when looking at a chart.

What exactly does retrograde mean? I've got mars, saturn and pluto retrograde.Jupiter is marked as Sd Uranus as Sr I have no idea what that means either! Nothing in the 12th house though. IP: Logged |

Retograde means that the planets seem to be moving backwards (for example: a retograde planet moves from Sagittarius to Scorpio). SD means "stationary" I think; and those are the days, when the planet changes direction again, and starts to move forwards again (from scorpio to sagittarius).IP: Logged |

Both the Capricorn Moon and having Cancer-Capricorn Intercepted translate to "Old Soul." Other than this, the assessment is largely an intuitive one.------------------ You are a blessing and you are blessed. Rev. Alice www.lifeprintastrology.com IP: Logged |

Interesting subject I have always wondered if you can see if you are an old soul or not in the birth chart. I will have to check my books to see if I can find anything.Shining Ray IP: Logged |

Welcome Shining RayWould welcome any information you find. I think there is a whole lot more wiggle room for "old soul" types. By first looking at the order the Signs are in, and what they mean as a natural progression/evolution/carnation. For example, just because someone is a Pisces, does NOT mean they are mature. Yet, they may have an "old soul" to them. Also, I DO think that if someone has their Saturn in Capricorn in the 10th House, that would give them an "old soul" quality as well. The Chart may be perfectly aware of that "old soul" personae, and interact with it. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

I found this article very interesting. I would be in life cycle 3.... Western Astrology
Sun-Moon Angle The Sun-Moon angle provides a perspective about your ascendancy and life lesson. In your reincarnation cycles you physically incarnate with the same ascendant or rising sign for 7 sequential lifetimes.
Each lifetime of the ascendancy cycle has a general tendency. The first lifetime finds you feeling disoriented as you attempt to remember that you are in a new cycle of ascendancy(i.e. moving from a Pisces to an Aries ascendant). You are not easily in tune with the world’s rhythms. The 2nd and 3rd lifetimes will be more manageable as you get to understand your new ascendant. Lifetimes 1,2,3 correspond to the young soul concept(Reincarnation Features Link). The 4th lifetime in any ascendancy is the most difficult. In this lifetime one generally is the most desirous of the physical world. The 5th lifetime finds you settling in to the world and understanding your goals. People in this lifetime have a good sense of their roles, even though they may not be completely content with the roles. The 4th and 5th lifetimes correspond to the middle-aged soul category. Lifetimes 6 and 7 are equivalent to the old soul category. On the negative side, you may be bored and/or irritable. Overall, however, you are finishing comfortably the ascendant’s life lessons. Method to figure the Sun-Moon angle’s lifetime Find your Sun. Move counterclockwise to the Moon. How many degrees is that? Divide that number by 51.5. Round to the whole number(do not round up). Add 1 to that number. That number is your lifetime in your ascendancy. Example 1. Sun-Moon angle=151 degree 2. 151 divided by 51.5=2.9 Round to 2 3. 2+1=3 3rd lifetime in that ascendancy edit to add: http://www.angelfire.com/biz2/metaphysician/astrology.html
