Has anyone of you Uranus in the 5th House in their natal? What are your personal experiences with this particular placing?

I remember reading somewhere that Uranus in the 5th would make a person prone to (extramartial) love affairs and generally indicates a somewhat unstable love life. Do you think that those interpretations are accurate?

Yes...it's possible that Uranus in 5th can be unstable love life. After all, Uranus is the planet of instability. It's the planet of the unexpected, unpredictability, innovation, excitement, liberation
the unconventional,liberation,flashes of insight,surprises,detachment
and the 5th house is the house of self expression, creativity, romance, and children. There are numerous possibilities that Uranus in 5th can manifest as.

There can be unusual way of expression self,a high level creativity, unconventional romances which can include interethnic romances, unplanned pregnancies......so many possible manifestations that fit with symbolisms of Uranus in 5th.

Here is an interpretation from Kepler program

Uranus in 5th
You are uninhibited and have an outrageous, crazy sense of humor. You love to get loose and you're often impulsive or "wild". Even if you appear conventional, you are attracted to highly eccentric, creative, or unusual companions. In romance, you are happiest when there is an element of surprise, unpredictability, and adventure. You may choose unstable love partners.

Never married, but I do have this placement, as Uranus is the ruler of my Aqua DSC I guess it stands out even more, and its square to my Sun..In actuality I have no desire to get hitched, never even as a little girl.

5th house is romance plus play and children, creativity.

I tend to attract/be attracted to those who exhibit some of the "Uranus" qualities. Mine is in Sagittarius so theyre quite talkative, energetic, stubborn..

I can be those qualities as well in the dating world....I can say that all of the romantic relationships I have been in have sudden endings and beginnings which typical of this position.

Apparently children will be quite rebellious and take a lot of energy from the parent as they'll have a gazillion interests and 10 tons of energy [meaning children of the native who has uranus in the 5th]. Interesting because my daughter has Aqua rising with Uranus in the 1st. Funny how that works out.

Have you studied your parents' 5th house as regarding your strong Astro placements?? My father for example has Scorp ruling his empty 5th house with pluto in the 1st. I have an 8th house Sun being the ruler of my Leo asc, plus an angular Pluto. If you have kids this would be fun to check out!

Im curious to what other people have to say.

I have uranus in the fifth in scorpio.
I do tend towards unconventional relationships. The latest thing seems to be younger men, lol. It used to be weird arty/muso types when I was younger.
I had 2 unplanned pregnancies (best surprises ever, I love my babies!)
Never been married, the thought of it makes me sweat. Although I was with my ex for 7 LONG years.
I would love to be married, but as I only want to be married once the thought of making a mistake terrifies me so I probably won't ever get married.

Yea Tea thats right. For your kids you might look for these:

* Angular Jupiter, Nept, Uranus
* Jupiter Neptune Uranus in the 1st, even if away from ASC
* Jup, Nept, Uranus conjunct either Sun or Moon
* Sagittarius Sun Moon ASC
* Jupiter in the 9th, Neptune in the 12th, Uranus in the 11th

I have Uranus in 5th and yes my love life has been on the unusual side. Before I met my current boyfriend(the Scorpio), there would be times I would meet a guy and the attraction was like wham...suddenly were in a relationship just out of nowhere, living together, doing things together, etc...and than just as it started it would end just out of nowhere...It sucks because you never know whats going to happen always on your toes about relationships.

I have this placement and also as a Singleton. The Kepler interpretation is spot-on. I sometimes surprise myself with things I do or say and wonder where it came from. As for love affairs, I shocked a lot of people including my family with the relationship I got into 5 years ago but I'm still in this relationship and I think people (after the initial) shock got over it. This placement is definitely in contrast to my Sun sign which is in Capricorn.

Interpretation from Bobmarksastrologer.com

Uranus in the Fifth House:

Let’s say that you go to a party and there’s twenty people in the room. Nineteen of them have regular office jobs and the twentieth is an alien from a UFO Guess which one you would want to get involved with.Teenagers with this one usually bring home dates who have shock value to Mommy and Daddy. "Look who I’m dating. Its’ name is Og and it comes from another galaxy!" This placement can be highly creative, but always in new and innovative ways. Those love affairs will continue to shock other people even after one is past the teen years. The first child will also tend to be either a genius or an eccentric, but children will be accident prone with this one, so be extra careful.

My mother has something similar

She has Neptune in 5th square the conjunction of Uranus,Mercury and her 5th house ruler Venus.

She had accidental pregnancies alright. She had my half brother when she was 15 1/2 years old,and her step first cousin was the father of the child. The child was given up for adoption against her will. She ran off to San Francisco, and she met my father. He was black, and she is white. Therefore it was an interethnic relationship. She had me at 17 years old,and my father was almost 31 at the time. I wasn't a planned pregnancy. I was born 2 weeks early. My mom even told me that it was even 1 month early. I didn't fit the stereotype of a premie for I was 7 lbs,15 ounces at 21 1/2 inches long. I also was born after a 23 hour labor, and I didn't even cry when I came out. They had to poke me,and then I cried. I also fell right to asleep when they put me down, and I was curled up in the fetus position. My mother told me that I was the only one that did that. There was significant age difference between the two. Technically,my father could have been statutory raped and even lynched by whites in the south if he lived in the 60's for messing with a white women. My mother described my father as an unusual man who apparently had Dyslexic,Dyspraxic characteristics, was erratic, unconventional, had spent time in jail for selling drugs for his uncle, and was diagnosed schizophrenic by prison psychiatrist. My father was out of our lives forever when I was 1 yr old because he got back using drugs.

My mom definitely has a Uranian child in me:

I am an unusual person with my history of Dyslexia,Dyspraxia, and being in special education. So I have a history of being unusual in the way I process information and was put in a class for unusual people which made me feel like an inferior freak. I didn't fit in the box no kind of way..especially didn't fit the male stereotype which often mistaken me for being gay. People did see me as weird and oddball for some reason, and I wasn't even trying to be that way. Maybe it was my strong feminine traits and my talking like Michael Jackson. My abnormal speech problems connected to my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia got me misdiagnosed as having a psychotic disorder. I was vindicated years later when neurologists confirmed that I didn't have psychotic disorder but neurological issues connected to my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia.

I am definitely an unconventional person with liberal beliefs including believing in gay marriage. I have a history of a rebellious streak with my parents and in the navy. I was a telecommunications operator in the navy.

I don't believe in organized religion at all. I am too much of a free spirit to be part of any organization and group. I am a member of International Dyslexia Association and Dyspraxia USA organization. I have the spirt of an activist. I help raise awareness about learning disabilities/neurodivergent conditions..even write astrological posts about it. I have angered people who believe in psychiatry because I pointed out the misdiagnoses of learning disabled/neurodivergent and minorities and racism that has been going on in psychiatry. A lot of people dislike me because I have views that go against the mainstream.

I am into occult, metaphysical subjects. I am definitely into Astrology. I do Astrology readings for others since summer of 1999...mainly online in irc(internet relay channel) on Undernet server. I definitely think outside the box,and that has definitely helped as an astrologer.

I spend a lot of time on the internet...always reading about stuff. I chat a lot on irc. I have a history of having a lot of online friends. I definitely had online romances/relationships.

my own Uranus stuff
unaspected Uranus in Libra in 2nd
Noel Tyl says that unaspected planets run away with the horoscope and drive themselves into prominence
Mars in Aquarius
Moon sesquiquadrate Uranus
Mercury,Mars,Saturn,Uranus,Ascendant in 11th harmonic syndrome - looks like a long horned pentagram(great for scaring off Christians....heheheheehe)
Uranus conj Mercury/Ascendant midpoint
Uranus oppose Mars/Saturn midpoint

My Moon is in the constellation of Aquarius in occultation(conjunct and parallel)with Ancha star in Aquarius and in alignment(conjunct in ecliptic longitude)with Sadalmelik, another star of Aquarius.
That would suggest that I am very Aquarian even though my Moon is in tropical sign of Pisces.

I definitely fit my mother's Uranus-5th house influence

I've Uranus conjunct Venus in Scorpio in the 5th (also conj my N Node). This dynamic duo is the focal point in a t-square also (squared my saturn/moon opposition)

I have posted this before, but I love strange and unusual people as I am also strange and unusual. I don't look it though, it's a secret shhh LOL. I'm more like the normal lookin Marilyn Munster (you just know she's weird hehe).

I like Glaucus' interp! I see art differently than lots of people. I do make-up and special effects stuff. Love it! I also make art out of random things which I s'pose could be considered innovative.

Unstable love partners LOL...my honey is a Sagi enough said We have a lot of fun galloping hither and yon!

Sorry off track a bit there... Uranus in the 5th makin people prone to x.tramarital love affairs... In my younger, high school days I'd say yes. But i've grown out of that stage! I would never do that kind of thing anymore and I attribute it to the spiritual path I travel. I do not need any x.tra cords of energy attached to me, unless they're invited of course. Also the good ol' Saturn Return helps in that respect too.

I'm pretty sure that I won't have kids. I make sure that I am careful so that I do not get any surprises either!

Not sure if i'll ever get married either (and i'm a Libra Sun can you believe it!?).

So if I look to see what house cusp Aquarius is, it's on the 9th house cusp. But I have 1/2 Aqua in the 8th and the other half in the 9th. I have an 8th house Aqua Moon that squares my Uranus/Venus in Scorp in the 5th.

I have a friend who has Uranus in the 5th accompanied with an Aquarius Moon. She's kinda kooky in a way. She's always striving to be different, even if it doesn't fit her image (which always changes btw). But she's tons of of fun to be around.

Just another example of how astrological placements can create similar results when like energies are at work. There are two interps here for a Uranus in the 5th which I can apply to myself by having a Leo Uranus Singleton, Leo being Ruled by the 5th House.

quote:
Uranus in 5th
You are uninhibited and have an outrageous, crazy sense of humor. You love to get loose and you're often impulsive or "wild". Even if you appear conventional, you are attracted to highly eccentric, creative, or unusual companions. In romance, you are happiest when there is an element of surprise, unpredictability, and adventure. You may choose unstable love partners.

And

quote:

My Leo Uranus Singleton is in the 4th House, so a lot is still similar because it has to do with relationships and security. Also, family expectations. (FUN!!!)

Checked my natal chart just now to see where my Uranus is, and found out i have it in Libra in the 5th H.

TRUE: unstable love life, prone to love affairs. I seem to have a magnet for unavailable guys and i find out they're not available only when i'm already feeling attached to them. Never been married.

I believe i am highly creative, and i'm attracted to guys who are " highly eccentric, creative, or unusual".

Well, l am all of the above and l just finished weeks of chart rectification and l find that Uranus is in the 5th H along with pluto and jupiter.

I am totally a product of high creativity, wild, eccentric, uninhibited, crazy sense of humour and the rest of it. I chose totally nutty partners and they are very unstable.

I am at least 10 years ahead of my competition in my field of work which is interior design and architecture and everything for me starts sudden and ends with a huge BANG!

hi, i am also a 5th house uranus(in cancer conjunct mars in 6th!) and it is my ruling planet too...all the above descriptions fit to a certain degree - i am one of the secret loons, don't go around being zany in public but my friends know who i am! and apparently less uranian types find me bizarre in the extreme..many uranian relationships and creatively ahead of my time (which can create a lot of frustration since many don't "get it" till i've lost interest!). since i had my daughter the crazy, disrupted relationships have largely subsided, she is a great hook for my fifth house uranus, having sun AND moon in a grand trine w/uranus/jupiter...but interestingly now that she is fullgrown i have had a bizarre and very uranian encounter with a man i last met 41 yrs ago when uranus was exactly opposite its present neighbourhood! the list goes on, but i won't bore you with more specifics...

I have uranus in scorpio in the 5th and it's square my venus which is the ruler of my 5th. As uranus also rules most of my 8th house I guess it's all significant for my relationship/romantic behaviour/preferences. It counterbalances all my capricorn seriousness and generally people are very surprised by my off-beat sense of humour and creativity when they get to know me. Aat first sight it's all that striaght faced, capricorness and then suddenly wham, hello my uranus in the 5th hits them. Most of my closest friends happen to be aquarius, so obviously that uranian energy is fun (5th) for me. Also some of my strongest attractions have been for aqua men with a bit of capricorn in their chart. They've been, as some of yuo have already mentioned, anything but mainstream. Creative and brilliant, different and unpredictable, but also plain weird and unbelievably hard to pin down.So basically not really relationship material, at least not in a traditional sense. And I have to admit that although I want a stable longterm relationship, I could easily imagine some alternative forms, i.e. would actually not mind being married but to have separate bedrooms or my own space in some way, maybe even live in different flats. And that MUST be my uranus in 5th, definitely not something you would expect from a triple capricorn (sun, mercury, venus) in the 7th house, with saturn in the 1st.

I was also wondering, isnt the 5th house also about 'self-expression'? So in a way it's a bit like a second ascendant. So whatever ascendant you have, with uranus in the 5th, you'd have some aquarius personality traits? What do you think?

My boyfriend had uranus in the 5th i had alot of fun reading all of this by the way. i always wondered what was wrong with him.

Hes a taurus with aqua moon and cancer rising..

On the outside everyone loves him hes very respectful and normal looking even but....

He has all these strange thoughts and interests and trys to think differently or do things differenty and it just doesnt mesh with his taurus sun. uranus in 5th and wild relationships (that would be me) weve been on/off for 9 years now and have broken up a million times and had an unstable relationship but somehow his taurus sun and my cancer sun have kept us together depsite everything else. Were probably not in love but just used to each other and somehow just stuck to each other. We both know were still around even after 3 - 6 months of breaking up we see each other laugh have sex and its back on. His mum hates me she thinks im that oga alien who doesnt have muslim beliefs and is too crazy for her son. But little does she know im way more screwed on and that her son who doesnt even believe in god or religion who believes theres aliens out there.
Yeh though theres these possibilities and there may be aliens and ufos or whatever but he talks about these more frequently than most and is interested in all uranian type things. I hate this about him i wish he was normal!

His best friend also had an aqua moon like himself and they sit there talking about there weird thoughts all the time.

About marriage and children for some reason hes not very keen about either, he says he wont marry me because im unpredictable and not likely to stay married but hes worse than me.

About babies.. hes the guy ive been trying to have a baby with but we found out recently he has a low sperm count so its going to be very hard for him to conceive so i doubt there would be any suprises there.. ITS NOT EVEN HAPPENING lol

Weve discussed how he would raise his children and he has an unusual way of wanting to raise them and wants to raise his child as a genius and only cares about how the childs mind will think and evolve and i cant really explain it but real stupid stuff like why would you care about this ( i wish some other aqu 5th would explain )
I have saturn as the ruler of my 5th house and we are so different though some people say theyre both rules by uranus i only think i would care about love and building a good relationship though i would love my child to be smart and all the rest of the stuff everyone else wants he seems to see a child as an object or an experiment. He doesnt want to teach his children religion and says he doesnt want to limit his childs mind but does anyone here think this is normal? Or even good for a child? Do other people with uranus in 5th think like this?

Anyways enough said lol ive worked myself up now i feel like ringing him and yelling at him hahahahaaah lol

he's probably most concerned with broadening the kid's mind so that at whatever time in their life they want to choose any religion or interest they will have the freedom to do that. we want our kids to have absolute mental freedom. no imposing ideologies/mental restrictions. also he's likely afraid that the child will end up like every other kid [from his pt of view] and he wants very much for his to be seen as ahead of their time and "original" - whatever that would mean to him. for the experiment bit: well it is a fascinating transformation to be around 24/7; and aquarius is the scientist so thats not too hard to fig out.

btw i have uranus in 5th and i think like this but im not expecting my child to be a genius - just to have the knowledge to choose what she wants when she wants. tell him in those moods to not get into a fuss. more often than not the 1st child is very strongly described by the parent's 5th house. and, haha, with uranus there and if he has a child - he's most likely going to get more of a personality than he bargained for.

My last love interest had Uranus in the 5th. He definitely liked to "get wild." I got fed up with him because he'd choose to go to parties and get drunk and get HICKEYS over me. Plus he always talked about the "element of surprise" in relationships and dumb stupid stuff like that.
