Pluto is smack in the middle of my natal Sagg 4th house. How do you figure which parent represents 4th/10th?? My IC is Sagg and my MC is Gemini.

My father is a handsome, charming, selfish opportunistic narcissist and cross-country traveler. I stopped talking to him over two years ago after he was too busy to visit my 12 year old who had just broken BOTH arms. It was the last straw. He's been sick for a while - enlarged heart, COPD - but the family joke is he'll probably outlive all of us. He's Cancer Sun/Taurus Moon/Cancer Asc(?).

My mom on the other hand is a hairdresser, very pretty, honest, hard-working, self-sacrificing, and generous. She immigrated here from Europe as a young child. She's LeoSun/SagMoon/VirAsc. Her own mother died around the time Pluto was transiting her 4th house, conj her n. Moon I think.

I can't figure out which parent is represented by which house. Suffice it to say, I DO NOT want my mother to die anytime soon...

My Moon is 7 deg Cancer 10th house. I'm wondering if my dad's death might occur during Pluto's transit of my 4th house and/or around the opposition of t. Pluto to my n. Moon. Just how long will it take for that opposition to occur anyway???

I should also say that my home was ravaged by TWO hurricanes in 2004, thank you very much Pluto!

Can only give my experience here: Pluto was transiting my mother's 3rd house when she passed on, as well as transiting my 4th [tho she died when she/I was quite young, so it had not yet made it to the 5th (natally its conjunct my IC)].

However, I have heard a lot about Jupiter being active in transits near death, and interestingly enough it was making 6 aspects that day: trine her Sun and Saturn, squared her Moon, opposed her Mars, squared her Pluto and trine her North Node. Her natal Jupiter was conj transiting Mercury, trine Neptune and Uranus, and sextile Pluto.

I personally wouldnt take Pluto transiting the 4th so literally. My 2 pennies.

--------

Edit:
Pluto will be 7 Capricorn in March 2011 direct motion

My husband has the same chart set up, Sag in the 4th, Gemini on the MC... I have been dreading and worrying about one of his parents dieing.. His father is an extremely unhealthy, jerk in my opinion and his mother although a pain in my butt.. I wouldn't want to see anything happen to her.. his father is in his 50's, smokes 3 packs a day, has had numerous back surgeries and in general wouldn't see him making it to 60.. but as you say he'll probably outlive us! LOL Thanks for posting this. I know you shouldn't worry but I can't help it either! I do hope it's not the case for you.

Arnicka -

I'm so sorry to know you were so young when you lost your mom. I can't even imagine. Thanks for the feedback and the heads up on that Pluto transit coming in 2011. I'm not betting on the Pluto thing, however I recall reading about others who lost a parent during a Pluto transit to the 4th and I can't help but be curious.

SilverFairy -

Wow, same sorta set-up there, huh! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Y'know my dad is STILL smoking in spite of his COPD & heart condition!!! He always seems to be well enough to do the things HE is interested in doing, but when someone else's needs arise, well, then he's awfully sick... blah, blah, blah.

Yeah his father is a Pisces and is very over indulgent.. has a lot of traits that annoys me... I just wish he would do more with himself.. and be more respectful. He has a good life, wife and son. anyway I have already been to 2 funerals this past year (my uncle and grandmother) So i don't really want to attend another. My father isn't much of one either, I haven't seen him since I was 11.. so I understand the difficulty. He only speaks to my younger brother.. and he had 6kids with my mother. (plus another son with his new wife) I am his only daughter. Oh well. lol What can you do.

I have heard of people having a loss of a family member with pluto in certain houses.. but I agree it's more then just pluto being in a house. Other things are usually going on.

Oh thank you Maire, very kind and for future reference [intended with kindness] not too many seasoned astrologers like to speculate on transits/aspects/natals and a future death in a public forum... tho maybe most of 'em wonder just like the rest of us.

Take care!

I have this in my forecast
Pluto conjunction IC: Dramatic changes

Mid January 2007 until mid November 2008: This is a time of great change in your personal and family life and a time of great inner psychological change. The effects of this influence can vary greatly, but it is always a very important one.

On the psychological level, you may encounter certain psychological effects from your past - your childhood and early home life, your relationship with your parents, your hometown or even something from the more distant past of your family or heredity. Psychologists know that the experiences of early life have a strong conditioning affect upon adult behavior, and it is essential to understand the psychological mechanisms created by this experience in order to free yourself from neurotic problems that arise in adulthood. During this period you can gain such understanding, because the forces within you are much more powerful and near the surface, where they can be observed in action.

On a less profound level, this influence can signify that your personal life will go through great changes as certain things pass away and new things come into existence. Obviously this happens all the time, but the changes are much more dramatic now. There may be great changes within your family, such as divorce, a major change of residence or the need for major repairs on a building, to name a few of the changes signified by this influence. The main point is that at some level your personal and domestic life needs to be overhauled so that it can be reconstructed along new lines. Often you need to be liberated from the past, not only at the psychological level but in your everyday practical life as well. This is the time to build a new order in your personal life. However, people often attempt to resist such change, with unpleasant results. The energies merely build up to such a point that they are released through a dramatic or unfortunate incident, such as the breakup of a marriage, sudden damage to property or the like. And resisting the energies of change is a waste of an opportunity to totally regenerate your life from its very roots.
---------------------------------------
I think, it is already active. And i was so naive to think, that after Pluto square Sun(active till December) , i will regenerate. No way! One smash after another- that's my life.
