I'm Taurus sun/Scorpio moon/Sag ascendant. For a while I seemed to like blonde hair and 'Leo'-looking men. But overall, since I was a teenager until now, I've now realised that I have a 'type' - dark hair of a semi-long length, dark eyes, smallish build, not too overtly masculine. Examples of my major crushes who fit this description:

* Keanu Reeves (although, he is bigger in his body type than what I'd normally go for). I love him the most in 'River's Edge'.
* Julian Casablancas of the Strokes
* Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme and the Dramagods
* Diesel aka Mark Lizotte
* Johnny Depp

My bf also relatively fits this description, as well as my two major high school crushes. It's as though each one is a variation of the same theme!

I'll need to look up their signs to see if there are any similarities, but I wondered if there is anything in my sun/moon/ascendant that would draw me towards these types?!

I've also just realised that most of these men are of varied ethnicities - Keanu = Chinese Hawaiian/English, Julian = Spanish, Nuno = Portuguese, Diesel = Italian Australian... even my bf has a mixed background. I wonder if my Sag ascendant likes the idea of 'international'-type men?! I also really like Alessandro Nesta who plays for AC Milan!

Always 'gone for' the kind of artistic, sporty type. It was all about the blond surfy, muso type for the longest time! My ex was dark haired with piercing blue eyes who played in a band and was kind of an all round sportsmen but pretty hopeless (although he thought he was king of the jungle- leos!)

Last guy I liked had dark hair and blue eyes too and played sport all year round. He wasn't terribly artistic in any way though unless you count the patterns he'd make when he drank too much with the boys and spewed everywhere. SHUDDER I'm so glad I'm over that one!

This new one seems to be me back to my old ways, he's blond and very outdoorsy. A lot of his hobbies involve restoring things which is creative I guess.

actually Johnny Depp kind of fits that Virgo-thing, too. Even though he has a Gemini-sun, he`s also got a Mars-Uranus-Pluto conjunction in Virgo; so the other male Planet falls into virgo.
I can understand you well.
I`ve had some crushes with the blonde, and blue-grey-eyed types, but they mostly were on the surface.
The deeper crushes were always with men, who were medium-tall to tall, slim, darkhaired with really dark eyes.

Let me count just a few:
° Keanu Reeves (here, too)
° Johnny Depp
° Kyle MacLachlan
° Orlando Bloom (*sighs*)
and many more I`m certain I`m forgetting here
oh yes, and three of my highschool classes (the ones, that made me cry myself into sleep some nights. lol) fit the pattern, too.

Astrologically speaking, I think those men are at least partially Mercurian-types, mixed with Virgo or Capricorn-influences; Moons are often in Scorpio.
Keanu having Sun and AC in virgo.
Johnny having a Gemini-sun, a Capricorn-moon, Mars in virgo.
Kyle having a Gemini-Mars.
Orlando having Sun and Mars in capricorn; Moon in Scorpio. And event hough he doesn`t have any placements in Virgo or Gemini, his Mars is conjunct MErcury and MErcury is the ruler of his 4th and 7th house.
My highschool-crushes had Sun / Moon in scorpio, virgo or capricorn.

It`s interesting, cause according to my Sun-Moon-Ascendant-combination (Sagittarius-Aquarius-sagittarius) I shouldn`t fall for these qualities, except the MErcurian.
But Scorpio, Capricorn, Virgo aren`t really known to get along well with Sagittarius-aquarius.
I guess it must be my Venus in Capricorn square Pluto and maybe my Sun-Moon-midpoint in Capricorn or my Vertex in Cancer causing that attraction.

Well, I think Sagittarius-ascendants are very open to mixed backgrounds, always curious to learn something new.
But I think for attractions I primarily look to the seventh house, the ruler of the seventh house, maybe also the 5th house and Venus-placements. Oh yes, and i almost forgot the 8th house for that magical, compulsive sexual attraction or should I say, obsessions?
I know that most astrologers say women should also look to the mars-sign and aspect. But it doesn`t work in my case.
I have Mars conjunct Neptune in Sagittarius, and I have never felt drawn to Sagittarius or Pisces-types, unless they had the female planets Moon or Venus there.
But no Sagittarius and Pisces- suns, ascendants or Mars`s for me. They feel too familiar, too much like brothers.

Interestingly, me and my Gemini bf (who thinks that Gemini's are God's gift to the world... lol!) were watching a video of Extreme a few months ago - and when he saw Nuno, his question was "is he a Gemini?" and I said, "why?", and he said "he's the good-looking one." And I was, "well, no - he's a Virgo. But you did get the mercurial quality right. Nuno is very mercurial!"

It seems like my and your Sag qualities do contribute to liking men from different backgrounds. When I hear for example, that Keanu is Chinese Hawaiian and born in Lebanon, I'm all "ooh! Exciting!!" When I was a teenage fan of Nuno Bettencourt, I learned about Portugal and even looked at the Portuguese language.

that little crush I have developed with Orlando gets a little bit ridiculous I suppose. I have dreamed the 3rd night in a row of him, and well let`s just say that much; those dreams were very apt to illustrate the astrological fact that his Mars is conjunct and very tightly parallel my Venus, and that my Mars is square his Venus. Nuff said, before I turn to red here.

Yes, the sign of the 7th house seems to be a good hint. I have the 7th house in Gemini myself, so I understand you, even though it`s interesting, I never fell for Gemini-suns, as I should have according to that placement. Mostly those men I feel attracted to have other placements in Gemini, preferably Mars or strong Mercury-aspects to Sun and Mars. Oh yes, and it seems to work even with Virgos, even though they are so different from Geminis.
But maybe that`s the common ground of my Venus in capricorn and Mercury-sign on the seventh house cusp. Capricorn and Gemini doesn`t really go well together. But Virgo and Capricorn are both Earth-signs, my missing element (except for the Venus). Maybe that`s the reason I`m also attracted to Virgo-types.

the 8th house:
it`s a difficult house I think. I also have had my problems with too much Cancer, even though there`s Cancer on the 8th housecusp. But I have Saturn in the 8th house as singleton, and Capricorns are such a major turn-on to me, especially with Sun and Mars there. lol

But probably it`s not enought to just look at one or two houses, but to see the pattern.
In my case the Saturn in 8th house gives a good hint at to what type I am attracted to.
But I also have Venus in Capricorn; Saturn is singleton. So I guess there are several hints towards Saturn in my horoscope.
On the other hand in other horoscopes the Mars sign may give a good hint, but it doesn`t in mine. Maybe this is because Mars is conjunct my Ascendant, and therefor very much a part of my own persona. Also, I must admit, I am drawn to men with Venus in 1st house, preferably in aspect with Neptune or in Pisces.
That would be a little bit like a Mars-Venus-attraction.
my Mars in connection to Neptune and 1st house reacts strongly to a Venus in connection to NEptune and 1st house.
Just a thought.

I've always liked athletic looking guys, which is why so many of my celebrity crushes are famous Soccer players...and some baseball. I basically like guys who look like they've been fed...none of that cadaverous ishh. But I don't like the football-linerbacker-hulk look either, that's too much.

I'm a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon/Sagittarius ASC/Scorpio Venus/Capricorn Mars.

I don't think I've ever been attracted to a guy with blonde hair...I always go for guys with darker hair or brown hair. Though I will admit that Paul Walker is gorgeous. I don't really like "pretty" boys...the bad boy type appeals to me more. Leonardo DiCaprio is my biggest celebrity "crush"....okay, obsession. He has tons of Scorpio placements, which is probably why I'm so attracted. I tend to like guys with Scorprio/Pluto aspects in their natal chart. My Boyfriend is a Pisces Sun/Cancer Moon/Scorpio ASC/Aquarius Venus/Scorpio Mars...Pluto is also conjunct his ASC.

Looking at attraction the other way around, I always seem to attract Aquarians. I have Uranus in my 1st house, a few Uranus aspects, and Moon & Venus in my 11th house..Maybe that's why.

I`m kinda relieved, that I`m not the only one, who doesn`t feel that attracted to their mars-signs.

Johnny Depp:
well, I put him on my list. But I`m not so much physically attracted to him, but feel a deep admiration for him. I really adore this man.

Jude Law:
I`ve had a thing for him for the last 1,5 years. But again, not really physically attracted. And according to my Mars-sign I should have. My Mars in sagittarius is loosely conjunct his Ascendant in sagittarius. My Venus is also conjunct his Sun, and again I admired him to a certain degree, well his acting at least, not the way he messed up his relationships though. lol

I think with a Venus in Scorpio (especially, since the Moon is also there) and Gemini on the seventh house cusp, the Mercurian, Plutonian people could be very attractive to you.
Your boyfriend seems to reflect a lot of that Scorpio / Pluto-influence. Well, an astrologer once wrote, that your significant other has to have those connections, you have in 7th house (or Venus), as a strong part of his personality.
For example: someone with Gemini on the seventh housecusp could be attracted to men with Sun, Moon, Mars in Gemini, third house, strong Mercury-aspects or Mercury in the 1st house.
You also reflect your bf`s needs in relationships.

mmh, well, I do believe that astrology reflects the personality of a person. So, if someone has Sagittarian-qualities, there should be also astrological indications of that. Those indications could be strong Jupiter signs, strong 9th house emphasis or planets in sagittarius.
But even though I think sagittarians or simply philosophical, playful, tolerant people are fun to be around and make me feel completely at ease, I don`t fall for them.
Even though I must say, that I´ve been pursued by some sagittarian-men. That was an unpleasant situation, for I only could see them as friends. In one case my Sagittarius-mars was also closely conjunct his Sun. So, he reflected my Mars-position almost perfectly (he also had a Sagittarius-ascendant), but I just didn`t feel attracted to him. It became quite unpleasant actually, because he wouldn`t simply accept a `No`.
I had to be really rude to him (something I hate to do), and even that wouldn`t stop him; in the end my Gemini-friend (just a friend) solved the problem, by telling that Sagittarius-person that he should stay away from me or he would beat him up. Of course I didn`t want this (I hate violence of any kind), but my Gemini - friend said, that it probably was the only way to stop him pursuing me. And he was right.

I tend to go for the smiley eyes, face kind of round, green eyes, blonde to lt brown hair, even better if they're bald. (No, I'm not bald) Oh, now I'm making myself laugh...ahem...so...

I also tend to end up with sagittarians, and I think they often have that round open face, friendly features, laughing eyes, etc. Also usually laughing out loud. Can't resist it.

I have very airy skewed chart with a bit of fire. (Lib Moon, Merc Aqu, Jup/Asc Aries, Asc Sag) I notice that this limits my choices and personality a lot. I never tend to find anyone on the fem side of the chart attractive. I have a mars in Gem and am love those babyfaces; I think young John Taylor is the best looking guy I have ever seen. He reminds me of my partner who is a Gem.

Otherwise, I adore:
Nick Rhodes (probably more so for his personality) (Gem)
Donnie Wahlberg (leo with libra moon that is really conj my moon)

Even though I wonder, if astrology really works, shouldn`t there be also astrological hints in the birthchart?
I mean, you`re right that not every athlete has a strong Aries-influence, but what about Marsß
Didn`t the Gauquelin do a study, where they researched the "Mars-effect" and found out that almost all athletes had a strong Mars?
Well, I`m a little bit attracted to foreign men, that`s true. But not physically. It might happen or not. But me, being physically attracted, has nothing to do with someone`s background; I can fall for people from my own homecountry as well.
But I think Mars might actually give a hint to the looks of men I am attracted to. And it has a lot to do with the shape of ones face.
I happen to feel attracted to men with very open, slightly round (but not too much) faces, sparkling eyes, rather straight eyebrows, high cheekbones, and men who are communicative (it`s hard to say if this is because of Gemini at the 7th cusp or Mars in sagittarius), who have good humour and who love to laugh, mostly loudly. Men who are natural, warmhearted, goodnatured, at ease with themselves, but still thoughtful.
*sighs* I guess Orlando Bloom is really my personified animus. lol
However, that could be sagittarian-traits, don`t you agree? I guess, maybe there`s more to the mars-sign-theory than I thought. But then again, the ruler of my 7th house is placed in sagittarius. So, I can`t decide.
But if we`re talking about pure physical attraction, you know being attracted by the looks of someone, shouldn`t the man`s ascendant or 1st house reflect parts of our mars-sign then, because the ascendant and 1st house symbolize the outward appearance?
Let`s say, it`s true: I`m attracted to sagittarian types after all, just in regard to their looks.
I suppose, in such a case Sagittarius-ascendant or a strong Juptier-aspect to the ascendant could indicate, that this man has this look I`m attracted to.

Yes, this could be a reflection of your mars placement. But also, look to aspects to mars too. I think yes, you may be attracted to a sag asc because of their looks, and in your case...nothing more.
