Can anyone relate their current job (or the jobs they are aiming for) to their natal chart?

I have Mercury in the 10th. Neptune is trine my MC (communications, media arts, etc.) I'm in Publishing.

From bobmarksastrology:

quote:
For example, I recently did a reading for a man who had Aries (action) on his Mid-Heaven. Mars, the ruler, was in the Tenth House. So were Saturn and Uranus. Mars is action, Saturn rules careers that require lots of discipline and preparation (like research scientist or doctor; but it an also indicate a business career), and Uranus has to be independent. He was a surgeon (Mars also rules cutting) who was starting a business.

Drawing these kinds of connections always amazes me.

*edit If there is already a thread like this, can I have a link?

Hi, teaologist!
I'm studying medicine and I want to practice either surgery or psychiatry. I have Scorpio as my MC (sharp objects - surgery; hidden thoughts - psychiatry). The ruler, Pluto, is in my 9th house, with Saturn (the only way to study medicine is in a saturnian way... if you want to be a good doctor ). I have Jupiter and Uranus in my 10th house (let's just say I want to make it my way). I have Psyche conjunct the MC (which I think is a good thing for a psychiatrist) and Venus&Chiron in opposition to it(healing others through kindness). Pallas sextiles it (I have a logical way of thinking... hope it will help, too) and I have some other aspects from Eros and Amor, but I think I should interpret them in relation to my social life, not my career (though they could help, as well, because people will like me - mostly men ).
That's my story. I know my chart doesn't scream medicine, but I'm a stubborn Ram :P

hey,

earlier i posted a thread like this and from my chart info, another board member said that I could be a competent doctor in sports medicine or a good surgeon. I'm becoming neither. I want to study the psychology of terrorism, war, politics, etc(SaturninCapricorn Opposition ChironinCancer and Vertex in Aquarius conjunct 6th house cusp - PlutoinScorpioin3rd Square Vertex)as well as emergency nursing (Virgo Rising first decan, pallas conjunct AC, neptune trine pallas, p.fort conjunct MC in Gemini(working with the hands), moon in pisces in 6th, and I have Venus conjunct IC sextile Ceres in Libra in 2nd H cusp so I'm quite the nurturing type) and instead of becoming a doctor i'd like to just be a pioneer (mars conjunct part of fortune conjunct Waldmathe black moon with all 3 conjunct my MC in Gemini, I also have Psyche in Gemini in my 10th house).

Your points will guide you.

I am Pisces sun, Scorpio asc, Taurus moon in the 6th and Saturn, Jup, Merc and Mars in Aqua in the 3rd and Virgo on the MC

I am a Transplant ICU RN

I believe my Pisces sun urges me to heal the soul, first then the mind then the body. My highly scientific Aqua in the 3rd leads me to the specialized field of transplant ICU, where as Virgo on the MC and possibly the Moon in the 6th would lend to the healing arts as well.

As far as my Scorpio asc, I love to take care of psych patients, just LOVE the workings of the human mind!!!

I can relate my current job to my natal chart. I dont have any specific future aims at the moment, but I know that I will be changing jobs in the future (Mercury on the Midheaven, and Uranus in the 6th hs).

Right now im in education. Supply teaching mainly for the subjects of science and math in high school. I want to travel this school year so thats why I didnt apply for a full time position yet. And maybe next year I'll teach in another country, like in the UAE.

My chart:
Sun/Mars/Mercury conjunct in Aqua in the 10th. Pallas in Cap conjunct MC. Jupiter opposite my 10th hs planets and Pallas, and conjunct IC/opposite MC. Does that at all scream TEACHER to you?

I dunno... but that Pallas conjunct MC sure sounds good for teaching (in general).
Short question: if the ruler of your Ascendant and the ruler of your MC are in conjunction (in the 9th house) and the Ascendant and MC form a sextile together, does it mean your carrer suits your personality?

Thanks, guys. These were the kinds of awesome connections I was talking about.

DayDreamer: Aqua sounds appropriate for math and science. I hadn't thought to connect Pallas to teaching. Like what Izod said, the conjunction sounds appropriate. I found Pallas in my 6th house trine Mercury. That's interesting because I am involved in textbook development.
I think it's great that you want to teach overseas. I plan to do that, too, next year (China---my 9th house cusp is in Pisces, so I hope this will pan out). Sooo yeah ...
Much blessings with the teaching thing.

Izod: That's a good question (that I'm unfortunately not experienced enough to the answer). My Asc. is in Leo, and my Sun is conjunct MC. I'd LIKE to think my line of work suits me. Let's see if anyone can answer better.

When I use the Equal house system most of my 10th hs planets fall into the 9th hs, but still conjunct MC. I dont think Im a great teacher, or gifted in that department.

Pallas athena is related to wisdom, truth, war and the arts...The war part of my personality isnt great for teaching.

Gosh it's hard to say...because Im so damn fickle. I have a Gemini ascendant (and Mercury on my MC, so that means I have many varied interests. My personality is very changeable and I adapt to my surroundings. I dont stay with something for too long if I dont enjoy what Im doing and it's causing me stress and unhappiness (my work does affect my health as I have two powerful and transformative planets, Pluto and Uranus in the 6th house of work and health). My career would have to be challenging and not the same mundane routine day in and day out. I would also have to socialize, use my brain and work for a good cause. All in all, I would have to say yes, my career would have to suit my personality.

Pisces on the 9th house cusp is interesting...Could mean you travel by water or to places surrounded by water. Are you at all interested in Eastern spiritual philosophies?

I've only dabbled in Buddhist teachings, mostly in rebellion against my Christian upbringing and because I think it offers a lot of good relaxation techniques. Heee, actually, on a serious note, it's the one worldview that attracts me the most. If I took the time to learn more and visit the places of meditation, I think I would certainly throw myself into it.

Just the topic I need at the moment! Major career dilemma going on right now. I've been a graphic designer/print production artist for the last 13 yrs. Fits my chart perfectly:

Mercury conj. Jupiter in Sag. in 2nd (publishing, advertising, typesetting, always done in 2 languages in Canada and I've had jobs which included more)
Uranus in Leo in 10th (creative crazy fast technological computer oriented freelance unpredictable strange hours)
Venus in Libra (ruler of asc., great for design)

But I've had enough - the stress and long hours have finally turned my passion into distaste. I have no idea what to do now, though. Uranus in the 10th creates a grand cross with my Sun in Scorp. (1st), Moon in Taurs (7th) and Chiron in Aqua. (4th). Tr. Neptune and Saturn churning me around at the moment. Astrologers say that I should stay clear of the 10th house and focus on my Mercury/Jupiter in the 2nd. Can it work that way?

Attaching this link on Vertex because I found that my Vertex placement strongly manifests itself in my career:
http://north-node.com/astrology-tutorials/the-vertex

"Gemini will draw you into a relationship or work activity that will demand that you learn to be flexible and to do more than one thing at a time. Flexibility is often connected with allowing others to change their minds, something that Gemini does quite easily."

In my line of work, people change their mind it seems about every 5 min. which means that I have to make the changes. It's all about change and flexibility and doing more than one thing at a time.

Pallas is also associated with recognizing patterns and logic, something every student appreciates in a teacher!

Teaologist - what drew you to the idea of teaching in China? Who know you may find some inspirational stuff there to satisfy your 9th house needs.

Oriana - its amazing how well your chart relates to your career.

Uranus on the MC spells upheavels in your chosen career, and a need to be your own boss. I wouldnt ignore the grand cross and Uranus on the 10th because tensions related to it will pop up anyways. Just take things as they come. And remember to put yourself and your well being before your career.

Izodesmozina - I have Capricorn on the 9th hs cusp which is similar to Saturn in that house. It could mean you travel for business or are ambitious for higher education. Do you have anything in Virgo in your chart? Ive seen heavy Virgo or 6th hs in doctor's charts too. With Scorp on the MC you could do surgery with coruler Mars (surgery/cutting) and or psychiatry with Pluto (investigation). Wheres your Mars?

Astrostudent - what does a research scientist in computers do? And do you know where you want to do your doctorate? You have alot going on in the 6th...Do you enjoy working?

Oh, I'm joining a program that involves teaching English in Beijing. Besides the obvious perks, I'm just looking forward to a big, huge, uplifting change.

Oriana: I have some friends in GD and you're not kidding about exhaustion. GD = no sleep

Hey I'm still trying to figure out my career. Right now I'm working in government but it's unsatisfying. I have a Libra stellium in 3rd house. Maybe I should look into communications of some sort
