Maybe Im too idealistic (Aqua with Sag Venus/Neptune in the 7th) and expect good from people. That might explain my extreme reaction to people that tell you lies to your face...and not only that try to turn the tables on you and make it out as if you are the one that doesnt know what you're talking about. Seems like people try to do that to me alot and think they're getting away with their BS...my Gemini asc, or my Pisces Moon involved in a T-square might give idiots that impression...Just because I dont say something doesn't mean I dont have a clue whats going on. I have absolutely no respect for people who are like that in their personal lives or for people who depend on these deceptive traits to rip you off for a living. IP: Logged |

What exactly happened?? Did a certain person do this to you just now, or is it just a general observation? ------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer IP: Logged |

Something happened today that lead me to make this general observation.Ive been a victim before like anyone else...though it seems like people try to do this to me quite often possibly because I may give the impression at times that Im easy to take advantage since I can be appear like a scatter brain. At least today it's nothing personal. Im trying to fight a traffic ticket and Im stuck between two traffic ticket agents...One says they can guarantee a win for $400 (He cant seem to give me the details about how it's guarateed) and another can't make any guarantee for $200...I tried asking them some simple and straight forward questions about the process, but I dont get straight answers. The agent charging $200 is the one that got me upset. He lied to me about something and then tried to question my honesty and my intellect. IP: Logged |

What's worse is people who lie and do it so well they convince themselves. My ex used to do that, I'd catch him out in a lie (big and small he can't help himself) and he'd get all defensive and start ranting and raving (or crying if I caught him out on a big lie, lol). Sure enough once he'd finished ranting and I'd backed down to keep the peace he was convinced he was right. He was always convinced he was right anyway, but the way he used to believe his own lies was disgusting. IP: Logged |

That bites DD- I am not sure how it works in Canada, but when I was stopped in Oregon (as part of one of their speed traps) I took it up with the state. I wrote a letter concerning the lack of signs, the known fact it was a speed trap, which has been documented and that forcing me to fly from MD to defend myself would be cost prohibitive. I ended up paying a weenie fine and didn't get any points on my record.Do you all have to go to a traffic ticket agent? What happened if you don't mind me asking. I think most of the time it is a big racket anyway. IP: Logged |

I got a speeding ticket on the highway near Ottawa and Im near Toronto which is like 300 km away. And the court date and time is during the work week.Ive never gone to court before...and dont think I'll win if I go by myself so thats why I want to go with a traffic ticket agent. And Im more concerned about saving my points record. (edit: and insurance rates) My father told me that he lost every time he went to fight a ticket himself...so his story also convinced me. He's not my problem anymore thank god. Feel sorry for his new girlfriend though she's a nice chick.Unfortunately I still have to deal with him because of the kids but as long as I just assume every word is a half truth we get along just fine. IP: Logged |

I understand completely. You're in a tough spot DD. Do you all have the traffic school option that prevents points being applied?IP: Logged |

I live in Toronto. Got two tickets in my lifetime (I'm 38 now). Negotiated down the points on the first one and fought the second one.First one was reduced to a $40 fine. The second one the cop didn't show up so I got off on technical grounds. I went by myself. No big deal. When you get there, the district attorney will offer you a plea bargain. Depending on the severity of your speeding ticket, the district attorney might offer you a reduced charge. For example, if the ticket is for 20 over speed limit, it might get reduced to 10 over... etc. You don't need an agent for that first time. If you decide to fight it after that, you will get another court date. Even on that time, they will still give you a reduced bargain prior to the judge being there. If the cop that gave you the ticket does not show up, your ticket gets thrown and you will be free. If your cop shows up, you are screwed 80% of the time, the cop will not show. When you are called, they will ask you if you are ready to proceed. You can still postpone it and say that you are not ready. They will rebook your court date. Most of the time, people take a look around and see if the cops are there. If there is no cop in the courtroom, you can say you are ready. If you are ready and they call for the cop and noone answers, the ticket gets thrown out of court and you are free. These agents know the cops as they sit there a lot and get to know who is and who isn't. So I would imagine that if they know the cop is there, they will tell you to postpone it to next time... you can do this 3 times, I think... I took my chances, and won. I hope you win too. Good luck. I hear things are somewhat different outside of Toronto/GTA. The cop is almost sure to show up to court at the court I'll be going to...I hear they show up over 80% of the time.In the kingston/brockville area they send you the trial date right away. So I have the trial date already set...I dont know if I get to meet the district attorney before hand or not...Im guessing I dont?? IP: Logged |

MM or anyone, what have you used in court to reduce a speeding ticket on a highway? Would accelerating to overtake someone help reduce a fine? (God I hate myself ) IP: Logged |

I understand what you're talking about. Especially the part about not leading on that I know someone is full of it. My Aqua sun/Sag. moon daughter is the same way. A Taurus was outright telling a huge one (over something very trivial)... he knew he was lying... and trying to blame it on my Aqua. My Aqua just said in a simple matter of fact way "No. I didn't do it." Well, he tried to make his argument (lie) stand by using her simple reply as proof that she was guilty. In "his" opinion, unless she had screamed and/or threw a fit stating she was innocent... she was guilty. He had her crying at one point..... and can you believe that knowing he was lying, he still didn't show an ounce of compassion or regret for making a little girl get upset. I did tell him to lay off. Well... he got caught in his lie a few days later. At this point, I let him know exactly what I thought of his little actions. __________________________________________ Scorpio sun, venus, mars, mercury, and uranus Libra moon, pluto, and asc. Im not going with either of the companies. I found someone new today. The guy charging me $200 had some emotional issues...he tried to make me feel like an idiot. I tried to ask him some more questions today and he basically yelled at me and said " I dont have time for this. You either send me your ticket information and I go to court for you or you dont and find someone else. The guy charging me $400...well he somehow knows my brother and his friends. My brother is going through him to fight his own traffic ticket. I thought Id give him some business till I called around and found the guy that would only charge me 200 because Im a teacher...I found it fishy that he didnt require any id from me that states my occupation....maybe he trusted my word. I called around some more and found a more reliable agent...who will charge me 250 with a guarantee of zero points or my money back (could he be refering to the cost of my own ticket?...ive heard that from someone). I checked them out on the net and they've got offices all over the toronto area. The two agents in my area are ex-cops...one from the regional police retired after 30 years of service, and the other a retired rcmp. Sooo Im feeling better about this. IP: Logged |

Just felt the urge to add my two cents here...I detest liars with a passion, and as I was hurt continuously by a guys lies (like ozmeg) for around 9 years, I no longer suffer fools or lies from anyone - you get one chance and if I smell a rat I'm outta there... The truth will set you free!! I'm Libra sun, taurus rising... but also want to say to 1scorp, I have had this experience with many Taureans, I don't like to generalise but it has now made me quite wary of them... You just can't have a debate/argue with the Taureans I've known, they've all been so self righteous! Hope I haven't upset any local Taureans

RG - Im pretty inquisitive too 1scorp - That's cute...I would have laughed too When I was a kid and whenever an adult that was not related to me thought they could yell or use swear words at me I would crack up too. Not like I was intentionally meaning to...In fact I tried very hard not to because I was afraid Id make them more angry and do something to hurt me. cat71 - thats great you dont give the guy more than one chance...For suffering 9 years with this, it sounds like you learned your lesson well. DayDreamer -Back to your original post, you're an Aqua, Venus in Sag, Neptune in the 7th. I don't have anywhere NEAR those social-loving placements, and an icey 6th House Mercury in Scorpio has had their share of communication lately. Is that Retro done with its fun yet? I appreciate your situation because I've got a little practice. The entire situation is something I'm familiar with, the only difference is that you're eyeing your ASC, Moon & T-Square phenomenon. For myself, I start eyeing a different set of astrological circumstances, personal to my Natal. To me, it's important to tell you this so that you check yo'self. You are idealistic, and idealism is always the last petal of the flower of life to bloom. If you don't check yo'self, now that you know what you know, then how could you possibly assume that others even heard? Remember that some of the best known leaders where Fixed Sun. Hey Daydreamer,I hate liars too, with a passion. Don't know if you remember, but we're born at about the same date, so I share your Aqua sun/Venus-Neptune conjunction... I get so disheartened by people and their dishonesty, it makes me literally sick to my stomach sometimes. Dishonesty is so upsetting to me. Anyhow, good luck with your ticket! I got a really bad one last year that killed my insurnace rates... ugh. Fight it all the way! IP: Logged |
