Moon Square or Opposite Neptune =

quote:
Your mother was either over-idealized or rejected as a feminine role model. You did not get a clear sense of who you were as a child and, as a result, may set impossibly high standards for yourself. You tend to be a loner.

Did you over-idealize or reject your mother as a feminine role model?

As awful as it sounds when I was young around 8 until my mid to late teens I rejected my mother as role model. I felt sorry for her, and embarassed by her I began to snap out of it after I confided in a friend about my mother. I never realized how crazy and high my expectations of her were. That's what happens when all you hear are only criticisms of your mother and never anything positive. And she would never speak up for herself because she was depressed which made things worse.

Odd, I have the trine and my mother was critisized constantly by my father for silly things. For little stupid things too. Then after she left him, he kinda turned on me.

That's odd...

I thought Moon trine Neptune would be more positive than that?!

Hows Saturn in your chart? And are there anyother aspects to the Moon or planets in the 4th?

I have moon sq neptune, exact.. and I too can relate to this:

"As awful as it sounds when I was young around 8-9 until my mid to late teens I rejected my mother as role model. I felt sorry for her, and embarassed by her"

My oldest daughter also has moon sq neptune, I have tried really hard to embarass her, lol (my given right, lol) but to no avail.......................however, my youngest daughter started to be embarrased by me when she was like 5..lol. It became easier for her when she realized that all the older kids in her brothers class totally loved me, they would all come running up to give me a hug and greet me, both the boys and girls.............then I was ok in her book.

That's what helped me (people outside the family saying nice things about her and praising some of her personality traits) to realize my mother is a better person and mother than I thought.

Oh yeah, Saturn. He's in the 12th and squares my mars.

I have no planets in the fourth

My moon is also in the 8th and the other aspect is the sextile to pluto. My moon only has soft aspects to it sans the house placement.

On the bright side, I always have had a good view of mom even when dad put her down. In fact, dad putting her down made me cling to her even more.

Bingo with Saturn! Im thinking aspects (any aspects) between Saturn and the Moon could translate to the type of relationship your parents have, no? I've also got Moon opposite Saturn...in this day and age my parents arent considered "compatible"...shes a Taurus and he's a Sag.

That thing that helped my father and I get along was that we were/are intellectually compatible. With my mother Ive always felt like I was in fog. Taurus is in my 12th and I have Chiron there too!

Didnt feel much love from either of my parents though, and cant recall feeling comfortable emotionally with any of them too. I guess having a Pisces Moon, that's too much to ask for from them.

I have Moon (in 3rd house/Pisces) square Neptune (in 12th House/Sagittarius)....

Although I've been a loner since I was 20, I've gotten the hang of it by now. I've had some love of the mother figures in my life...but that love was gone as I got older.

Oh Ive always felt like a loner - since, as far back as I can remember. Even growing up with 5 younger sibs in the house I felt that way.

Was your birth mother actually one of your "mother figures"? Did you over idealize her in anyway when you were younger?

Strangely there are no aspects between my moon and saturn. They say even aspects between the sun and moon would indicate the relationship between mom and dad but I don't even have that. Although my sunsign matches my dad's (he's a cancer) and my moon sign matches my mother's sun (virgo).

I think its more evident with my sister who has sun in pisces square moon in gemini.

I have Moon in Pisces square the opposition of retrograde Saturn in 9th and Jupiter-Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd house with 1'23 orb. My mother is Dyslexic like me,and the last grade she completed was 8th grade. My mom is traditional Roman Catholic on her Portuguese father's side, and even thought of being a nun as a child. She is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. She has a history of suicide attempts. She was a victim of a shooting 3 days before my 3rd birthday at age of 20 yrs old,and she saved both our lives. She had a bad blood transfusion that gave her Hepatitis C because of the blood that she lost from the shooting. She has history of other health that problems that include Diabetes which led to left toes being amputated, depression, anxiety, cervical cancer which led to removal of uterus at age of 23. She has a history of emotional issues, never knew her mother, been in 13 foster homes, and she has been in unhealthly relationships that included ones with my father and stepfather. She lost her first born son to adoption.

She is quite the emotional, sensitive, intuitive, imaginative person with a history of being taken advantage of by others. She has Ascendant,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter in Cancer,Moon and Saturn in Scorpio as well as Sun in 12th trine Neptune that indicates that as well as Mercury-Venus-Uranus in Cancer square Neptune in 5th.
She can be quite deceptive, illusive, and hard to pin down as well as prone to feeling sorry for herself and being too much the victim. She definitely had a difficult life though. I feel that difficulties in our lives can lead to us being able compassionate for those that are suffering.

She has 11 lifepath and 22 expression numbers that equal 33 maturity number.

Here is interpretation of Moon in hard aspect to Neptune.

Moon discordant to Neptune
You have a wonderful imagination and are very sensitive and intuitive.
You are gentle, kind-hearted, romantic, sympathetic and compassionate.
You are always there to listen to other people's problems and you
never judge them for what they have done. You are idealistic and
inspirational and find great emotional fulfillment through the arts,
whether it be painting, music, drama or dance. You may take an
interest in photography or anything having to do with the sea. You are
able to sacrifice your own needs if it will mean helping another. You
are very creative and need to express yourself this way to stay
emotionally balanced. You have interest in metaphysics or occult
science, as well as ability, even if it is now only dormant. You are
particularly attuned to the vibrations in your environment so you
should pay attention to the people and situations with which you
surround yourself. You retreat into your own little world to escape
the pressures and hardships of the world. You must be careful that you
don't stay there and neglect your earthly duties and responsibilities.
Running away from trouble does not get rid of it. You are sympathetic,
compassionate, gentle and kind and are an easy touch for anyone with a
sob story to take advantage of. You need to develop self-control of
your emotions and your imagination.

You are fairly passive and it is difficult for you to fight or assert
yourself, even when you should. You need to learn how to stand up for
your own rights. You have a great deal of intuition and you can trust
it if you develop the habit of really listening and responding to it.
You must avoid any negative psychic practices such as Ouija boards,
hypnotism, seances and mediums for they would be detrimental to you.
You are mystical, but not necessarily practical. You may lack the
necessary willpower to resist temptation so it might be wise for you
to avoid it entirely rather than putting yourself into difficult
situations. You soak up the emotional state of the people and
situations with which you surround yourself, so choose positive
environments that are uplifting rather than degrading. There may be
introversion and self-indulgence. At times you become disappointed or
disillusioned with others because of your tendency to idealize the
people you like.

Lies and the use of drugs or alcohol may become habitual. You may have
trouble distinguishing the real from the imagined or illusory. You do
not enjoy confrontation and become very evasive when problems in your
personal life arise, escaping into your imagination in order to avoid
dealing with them directly. You are rather gullible and naive about
people, especially if your sympathy has been aroused. You need to
learn how to sort the truth from the untruth and to overcome your
emotional sensitivity. Because of your great sensitivity, when upset
or hurt, you may use lies to untangle yourself from a situation. Your
emotional sensitivity does not always enable you to discern when
others are telling you the truth or not, so you can be deceived by
others with little effort on their part. You are too easily hurt by
almost anyone. Your deep feelings of insecurity and inferiority cause
you to withdraw from others into a world of make-believe. Your
confusion at times causes you to misunderstand what has been said, so
that you feel hurt and rejected. There is deception from others or
through your own fantasy.

This is an interpretation of Moon square Neptune from Flower Essense Report.

Moon Square Neptune:

You are like a psychic or emotional tuning fork, picking up and resonating to the
feeling state and energies of those around you. The development of objectivity, detachment,
discernment, clarity, and psychic, emotional, and energetic boundaries is thus essential to
your emotional well being. Otherwise you are apt to be dominated by outside forces and
probably be very confused! Participating in what are popularity termed "co-dependent
relationships" can also arise.

You are easily moved by others' distress and your own emotional idealism, innocence,
naiveté, or gullibility. Passivity, evasiveness, escaping into fantasy or addictive, mood
altering substances, and self-deception are potential pitfalls on your path. In truth, you do
need your hope, your belief, your faith, and some sort of spiritual nourishment on a regular
basis, but need to balance it with realism. Because of your sensitive nature, flower essences
and other vibrational remedies are very effective for you. Some that may help you with the
above issues include:

For being too easily taken advantage of: the flower essences CENTAURY and
BLEEDING HEART.

For maintaining strong psychic boundaries and protection from bombardment by others'
feelings and needs: the flower essences YARROW, WILD GRAPE, RED CHESTNUT,
and RHUBARB, and the gem essence of HEMATITE.

For greater willingness to face your true feelings: BLACK-EYED SUSAN and
AGRIMONY.

For addictive tendencies: MILKY NIPPLE CACTUS, MILKWEED, and CALIFORNIA
POPPY.

For developing your psychic talents in a balanced way and integrating your spiritual or
psychic perceptions into everyday life: the flower essences MUGWORT, GREEN ROSE,
and LOTUS.

Here is an interpretation of Moon square Neptune from Astroinsight Report.

Under Moon section
Moon Square Neptune:

Part of you is sensitive, romantic and subject to changing moods. You can relate to
people through music and art. Find your tune and dance to it. You can experience spiritual, mental and physical healing. Refine your inner vision.

People see your aura and are drawn by your mystique. You can make the most
sensuous dreams come vividly true.

You can learn to make excellent sales presentations and do creative work. Small
sacrifices can help you to obtain specific goals. Sometimes you are so idealistic that you need to deal with your world in a more direct way. Give yourself an edge by clearly defining what you want and then going for it.

Under Neptune section
Moon Square Neptune:

Your major mood swings, great imagination and genuine interest in the spiritual worlds all contribute to your fantastic creative potential. Know when you're playing make believe.
It's a wise person who knows their limits. Don't drink alcohol. Learn to trust your first impressions. Regularly affirm that the more you trust your intuition, the easier your life becomes.

Become more consciously attuned to environmental undercurrents. Many temptations try to lure you to a seemingly easy path. Avoid the undue influence of gossip. Keep your promises. Get more involved with community benefits and events.

Here is an interpretation of Moon square Neptune from cosmo natal report.

Moon Square Neptune:

You are a dreamer, attracted to the inner, mystical side of life, and may have trouble distinguishing the real from the imagined or illusory. You do not enjoy confrontation and become very evasive when problems in your personal life arise, escaping into your imagination in order to avoid dealing with them directly. You are also rather gullible and naive about people, especially if your sympathy has been aroused. You are very sensitive to music and can use it to bring yourself into emotional balance and harmony.

Here is interpretation of Moon square Neptune from vocational guidance report.

Moon Square Neptune:

You are very receptive to everything that happens around you and could easily assimilate negative energy when you are confronted with stressful situations. You tend to be fearful and try to escape situations that frighten you. If you don't acknowledge your own fears, you could be inclined to some type of vice or to work excessively.

You are very inspirational and have a natural ability for music. You also may be
interested in mysterious and spiritual subjects.

Here is an interpretation of Moon square Neptune in cosmobiobology health report.

Moon Square Neptune:

You tend to be extremely sensitive and may be prone to allergies or strong reactions to drugs, including alcohol. Your lymph system is likely to be weak, causing swelling of the lymph glands or possible edema. Your blood circulation could be poor as well.

In Med scan report by Medical Astrology Eileen Naumann. I ordered a report from her in 2000.

Moon hard Neptune:

Potentially extreme sensitivity to drugs taken. Very low tolerance to alcoholic products. Half doses of any drug should be considered instead of 'normal' dose due to body sensitivity. Possible loss of potassium if diuretics are used. For women, infections of a viral/bacterial/parasite nature and misdiagnosis of reproductive or bladder/urinary area. You may have have a Candida fungus problem;be sure to get tested by a doctor for this as Candida creates many unrelated ailments such as swelling of feet/hands/abdomen,fungus-type infections of the nails, skin or vagina, severe and sudden allergies. There is a test available to see if you have it. If you do,homeopathic remedies can treat. Get a second opinion. B-2 will help vaginitis. Stressed emotions will lower immune system and allergies may crop up. Pantothenic acid will help. Swelling of lymph glands or lumps in them; for women in breast region, particularly. Drinking of coffee may cause cysts or fibroid tumors in breasts of female.

I am male and so none of the female stuff applied to me. All the other stuff did and strongly relate to...especially extreme sensitivity to drugs taken and needing half a dosage..even that is too much...especially when I have Pisces Moon and numerous Neptune aspects(Mercury parallel Neptune,Venus parallel Neptune,Mars square Neptune,Saturn oppose Neptune,Saturn contraparallel Neptune).

hard Neptune aspects indicate potential misdiagnosis of any kind like me being misdiagnosed as having Bipolar, psychotic disorders when I am actually Dyslexic,Dyspraxic with anxiety, depression.

I am very interested in natural healing.
I am a trained massage therapist.

HD -

thanks for providing that LG interpretation...some days I can handle her and other days I find her to be a bit extra. Like she's fishing for psychological problems that arent even there. Sometimes I feel her writing confuses and even convinces people they have psychological problems...I dunno it can be to negative for me at times.

No im not scared of the sea...I live by the great lakes. Lake Ontario is only a 10-15 minute drive away.

Nice boat! I like the fact that it's built to be at sea for days or weeks and it's good on fuel...cute interior...gives you the feel that you're really out to sea.

Glaucus - Ive noticed you have a t-square almost like mine. I dont know much about my mothers troubles. She never talks about them...she doesnt talk about much to me.

Do you look up to your mother for all shes been through , and reject your father as a role model? It'd be interesting if the reverse is more often true for opposite genders.

Thanks for all the interpretations...the more, the better. I especially liked the interpretation from the Flower Essense Report...where do they come up with the flower essence remedies?

Sorry I missed your post Dulce Luna...

I saw the capital D at the start of your name and thought it was my post.

Ive read Moon and Sun could represent mother and father too! Even looking at the planets/houses that represent the sun sign of each parents Ive noticed works. Jupiter (rules my father's sign) is in the 4th, conjunct IC...he was like a the lone parent when I was growing up. My mother (Taurus) falls in my 12th house and conjuncts my Chiron...and according to the birthday I have of hers which im not sure is correct her Moon in Aries falls in my 12th as well. And Venus (Taurus) conjuncts Neptune which is involved in a T-square!

Ah yes! That makes sense too! My moon (which in this case would represent my father) is in the 8th explaining his rapid mood swings and stuff. It explains alot about him.

My mercury is in the 6th conjunct chiron. Despite her pisces rising, my mother has been and always will be mercurial....

I just realized that my boyfriend has his moon is pisces square neptune in sag. As far as I know he has a relatively "fine" relationship with his mom. I say okay because you know, all family relationships have their ups, their downs, and their annoyances. Now whats interesting is that his mars forms a T-square with his moon and neptune. Now he's always had this "nervous energy" and I've always wondered why. I did an astrological free birth chart report for him and they claimed that his T-square will make one's nerves like that.

DL - With Mars involved in the Moon-Neptune T-square does your bf react quickly to things or others and act out his emotions?...The nervous energy he exhibits maybe him trying to control/keep down his emotional reactions to things around him...that Pisces Moon would make him pretty sensitive to his surroundings...as Im sure you're aware of.

Glaucus - I remember you said you weren't at all raised by your father. I wonder why God puts us in hard situations and paths in life. There must be a positive reason for all the things youve gone through...can only make you stronger! Still we worry about our parents...Sometimes I feel I cant do anything and move on with my life because of the state of my mother.

I think you've nailed it right there. I notice that he gets even more this when he is uncomfortable or stressed. He paces around very fast too! He was like this when I first met him and I was around. He seems to have endless amounts of energy, sometimes even when he's tired he still moves fast!

I have Moon in Pisces in the 7th square to Neptune in the 4th. I related to my mum on a one-to one basis and I got quite overwhelmed by her emotional outbursts. I was her support yet I was too young to be there emotionally for her.

I have never over idealised my mum but have felt confused by her. On the one hand she tells you to be strong and independent and then she portrays a weaker mother image where I have to pick her up.

So emotionally confused is what I have felt.

Happy Dragon, I've got Moon trine Neptune exact and I have always lived within a mile of the sea. It is my life and soul's force...but I've got Moon in Cancer and 6 panets in water, too. I thought it was a very interesting question you posed about the Moon/Neptune and the sea.

Very interesting....
