i have it. in virgo. and it sucks.

nearly every person i know has mercury in direct, it's so so hard communicating with them. especially people who are close to me. i once had a bf with pisces mercury in direct. we had all the opposite views and such, but my retrograde made it even more difficult to express what i feel to him. it's mainly because of this our relationship broke down.

anybody's insights on this?

I have a lot of planets Rx... Mercury is one of them in my 8th house. I too can have a difficult time trying to communicate.. it's like it's there in my head but when it's time to talk it never comes out right.. I tend to talk fast when I'm nervous or when I'm on a rant.. I think it's because there's so much there if I don't get it out fast enough I will start to get Tongue tied. I'm very much a constant thinker.. My mind never stops!

I communicate with lots of people who have Merc direct.. and I don't really have a problem.. well except that they tell me to slow down! lol Most know that I don't always explain things well.. and that I often have to say that something didn't come out right. So they expect me to re-explain to them what it was I wanted to say in the first place. It can be difficult in Relationships.. I am married to a Virgo.. he's a VERY intelligent guy and has a very clear head.. He's not much of a talker.. but I think I am so obvious in expression and he's known me for so long that probably helps him understand what I'm trying to get at!

Silverfairy,

I do the same exact thing in the same circumstances..especially when I am stressed. The psychiatrists misdiagnosed me schizoaffective bipolar when it was really Dyslexic-related speech(cluttering). I always had problems with people misunderstanding my communications, but I always had problems misunderstanding other's communications...so mainly receptive-expressive language disorder which is common thing in Dyslexia. I also tend to be shy in communications including especially speaking in front of a whole bunch of people...I end up shaking badly and kinda stutter. It is one of the reasons that I tend to be withdrawn and don't like to socialize much. I am highly introverted. My issues make me humble though, but have grown up with inferior complex.

my indicator is the retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th oppose Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd,Mercury-Saturn-Neptune planetary declination synchronization, and Mercury conjunct Sun/Neptune midpoint

retrograde Mercury indicates a mind that tends to introspective, reflective and can be more of a rightbrained, nonlinear type of thinking that could lead to problems with learning and communications in certain degrees.

Its not necessarily bad...it can be good for meditation, reflecting, thinking profoundly about things, visual planning tasks in your mind before performing them, think about things carefully before you speak, take our time before we say and do things.

That's how I compensate for my strong Mercury-Neptune theme stuff, learning disabilities

according to the book,DYNAMICS OF ASPECT ANALYSIS

As far as communication is concerned, who communicates better?
mercury retro or
scorpio moon

I know these are two different aspects but they have the same problem of self expression.

retrograde Mercury because Mercury has do with communications

Moon has to do with nurturing, feeling, emotions

Moon in Scorpio by itself wouldn't necessarily be problems with communications...it can indicate feeling the need to be secretive, private as well as feelings that are deep, complex, intense that could lead to probleme expressing themselve...but that's indirect thing

Mercury by itself is a more direct thing when it comes to communications.......no pun intended

Hmmm, I have Mercury Rx in Sag (conj. Jupiter) and in general don't have difficulty communicating. In fact, many of my friends say that I would make a great teacher.

Not an essay writer (ugh), that's for sure, but I chock that up to the Sag/Jupiter and Saturn in Cap in the 3rd.

However, when it comes to communicating my astro knowledge to someone who doesn't know much about it, I have great difficulty and just sort of clam up. So much of my astro studying is feeling based and I have a hell of a time putting it into words.

Glacious, yes it's very difficult, and I am very shy, very anxious person and it's noticable in my reaction and speech. I seem so timid to other's who don't know me. But I lack confidence. Which does't help with my communicating. Once I get to know you, my confidence goes up and my problems calm down. I can understand other's usually fine.. they just have a hard time understanding me.
