I know this is a bit random but I was wondering when is the best time to get a haircut given i havnt had one since im 6 and im 19 and my hair means a lot to me (its 2.5 feet long half my height exactly) but i think its time for a change. And i heard someone say that if Venus is at a bad angle to ASC that could mean not to do anything beauty related and I was wondring if anyone knows more specifically?  ------------------

The girl that does my hair is a Cap, best you can get  But yeah the Moon thing is great

Oh God! I was wondering about this myself just the other day - the best astro conditions for getting a cut and colour. My hair is ridiculously important to me too (no doubt too much so). I've heard about doing it by the moon for haircuts. I can also recommend to you do NOT do anything to your appearance when there is a stressful aspect to Venus because this is what was going on when I had a severe hair disaster! Venus square Pluto was the culprit. It was almost three months ago, and my hair is STILL RECOVERING.  Come to think of it, Pluto was/is also very close to my ascendant, so I would have also had Venus square my ascendant... so you are right about stressful Venus aspects to the ASC, cos it happened to me! Hmm... I just checked the transits for the date of my next cut and colour. Transiting Venus will be conjunct my ascendant and in my first house, however there are a few transiting oppositions to my natal Venus (Mars and Jupiter). Which transit takes precedence? Is Mars going to launch an attack on my hair and make it all big and boofy (Jupiter)? I'm laughing at this, but somehow I'm also not!  God I should check out Uranus... or wait, should it be Pluto? I'm thinking of the chemical process of hair-colouring... Ok just checked. There are sextiles to both those planets but there are also a couple of semi-squares... IP: Logged |

I read from somewhere that the best time to shop for fashion is when Moon is in Libra - maybe that applies to hair too?IP: Logged |

I checked the transits for whn my last tragic hair cut happened. No negative transits. only tmars trine my asc, and turanus sextile my venus. that shudn't count, rite???ohh well, anyways, most of my haircuts r disastrous. after the last one, i cried for a week until my folks got so fed up that they forced me to go back to the hair dresser and make him correct it to some extent. this time too it was on black friday, and i am still kinda in mourning. altho others seem to like it, but i am not happy at all. Hey InLoveWithLife, it sounds like rather than looking at transits, you should be looking for a new hairdresser! Seriously... find one who you connect with, who will listen to you and do what you WANT, and who you trust.

GeminiLover,it doesnt matter who the hairdresser is (its a diff one every time.... ) this time i thought i had found a really good one. she listened to me. asked me abt everything. still it turned out awful. may be it is me myself who is ruining it. not able to be clear abt wht i want....i dont know. its kinda weird. :sigh: IP: Logged |

My thoughts:--Cutting hair for growth: WHen the moon is in a water sign, and when the moon is waxing (getting bigger). This would hold true providing that at the time of cutting, there would be NO squares or oppositions to the moon by planets such as Saturn, Venus, Pluto, etc... If at the time of cutting, there is trine or sextile with other planets, all the better. --Cutting hair but NOT for growth: Like shaving/waxing underarms or legs: I would think when the moon is in a barren sign like Virgo, Gemini, and the moon is waning (getting smaller). I wouldn't think it matters what kind of aspects other planets are making to the moon. --Cutting hair for thickness: Supposedly, cutting hair around (but before) the time of the full moon is supposed to be best. Also, perhaps cutting hair when the moon is in Leo and Taurus, when the moon is waxing (getting bigger), also providing other planets are not making squares or opposition to the moon at the time of cutting. Also: one should take into account how personal planets are lined up at the time of cutting. Even if the moon meets all the necessary requirements for say cutting hair for growth, if one has natal Venus or Jupiter or Saturn squaring the moon at that time, that would probably negate the desired effect.
