i like writers.
Can you write here

A short one would be fine.

I've been reading a book, and thinking about my career a lot lately myself. The truth is that I could probably think of 20 or more ideal jobs I've wanted in my life. With this many interests, and the feeling of having talent enough for any of them I'm left paralyzed not knowing exactly what I should pursue. One of the things I recently read that made a lot of sense to me was that indecision is procrastination's twin. How true! So how can you decide if, like me, you'd love to do more than any person ever gets to do in their lifetime? The book hasn't answered that. What I've kind of decided is that since a definite direction is absolutely necessary for progress to be made I'm going to try the path that will keep me the most secure while also allowing me to be the most well-rounded.

I can't deny my creative side, but I'm realistic enough with myself to know I'm not prepared to step right into a creative career. I'm not at a place where launching something like that is feasible in the short term. What is feasible is a build up to a prosperous lateral move within a year or two. By that I mean I can hone my skills, become the kind of person that will inspire great references, and move into a similar job that pays better all the way around (benefits and retirement are important). The job I'm thinking of also allows for plenty of off time in which I can pursue my myriad of other interests in an effective and pleasurable way.

So, I don't know if that helps, but if you think on what you truly desire long enough the path will probably open up to you. The trick is really giving yourself enough time to really consider what would ultimately make you happy. Consider all your needs, and see what kind of answer pops into your head.

star,

You have a least aspected (strong energy) Mercury (thinking, also writing) focused in the 3rd house (thinking, also writing). Since Mercury barely "connects in" with your chart, this might cause you to OVERdo in Mercury things, such as writing. Instead, know that you are a writer and your writing is fine...although you may not "feel" like a writer.

Unaspected,

Tim

starr33,

Welcome to the forum.
Nice "meeting" you.
You sound a lot like me.
I also write and act,
and I see we both have Sun Conjunct Uranus.
(There's a link to my chart in my signature.)
See you around, I hope.
You can email me something to read, if you like.
scoltin@gmail.com

Here's what I see:

Mercury rules your Midheaven
(The sign on your Midheaven is Gemini,
Gemini is associated with writing and acting,
while the Midheaven signifies your vocation.)

Mercury rules your Ascendant
(Virgos talk and write a lot,
and are exceptional organizers,
which is essential for writing.
They are clear-headed, pragmatic, and meticulous,
reserved, observant, and eager to learn.
Your Saturn also recieves good aspects,
and has a similar influence.)

Mercury in the 3rd house
(thinks about thoughts)

Ascendant ruler (Mercury) in the 3rd house
(Approaches life intellectually)

Mercury trine Moon
(thoughts and emotions in harmony -
thoughts are sentimentalized,
sentiments are articulated)

Moon in Cancer
(the moon and cancer are VERY prominent
in the charts of writers.
You are deeply emotional
a possess the ability to nurture people.)

Moon in the 11th
(understands the public, thinks big,
wants to mother the world.)

Mars in the 9th
(the 9th house rules publishing)

Jupiter in the 5th
(the 5th house rules self-expression and creativity,
while Jupiter is lucky, gifted, and prolific,
and is associated with publishing.
Jupiter sextiles the Venus/Neptune conjunction,
and trines the Midheaven.
This is a STRONG indicator of success.
Jupiter is very important in your career.
It is also the "depositor" of your Neptune and Venus.)

Sun Conjunct Uranus
(subject to inspiration,
eccentric, objective,
ahead of your time,
a touch of genius,
Interest in metaphysics and the occult)

Sun in Libra
(Air sign, intelligent, artistic,
interested in people and society,
romantic, refined, appreciates beauty,
balances, harmonizes, beautifies,
weighs ideas and considers the relation between ideas,
a peacemaker, perfectionist,
may procrastinate or succumb to indecision),
political, diplomatic,
an iron hand in a velvet glove)

Venus Conjunct Neptune
(highly sensitive to beauty,
extremely refined aesthetic,
compassionate, spiritual, psychic,
romantic idealist, dreamer, artist,
talent for acting, humility.
Venus is also the Sun Sign Ruler.
The Conjunction is in Sagittarius,
which, along with Jupiter and the 9th house,
is associated with publishing
and gives a talent for language and philosophy.
Sagittarius is sometimes called "the showman",
and can be even more of a performer than Leo.)

Neptune angular and conjunct the IC
(sensitive, imaginative, spiritual,
compassionate, loving, psychic, and artistic.
Your childhood will serve you as a
great source of inspiration -
this is also true of Moon in Cancer.)

You're welcome.

Sounds like a fun play.
I like it when school is fun.

Sure, you can email me.
I didnt mean to imply that I am a professional,
published writer, though.
I don't think I'm there yet,
but I do write poems and occassional short stories.
Mostly I write fragments and aphorisms.

take gentle care,
Stephen
