HSC,For windows Solar Fire and Kepler are popular. For the Mac Io by Time Cycles is used. They all can handle the things you talk about and, if you pay extra money, print out computer reports. However, everything you describe can also be done on astro.com for free! Charting, Tim IP: Logged |

Hey HSC, Check out this website, www.papertv.com it is a freeware. 'What Watch draws and prints chart wheels, including synastry and composite, draws tables of essential dignities, calculates element and quality balances and allows analysing birth aspects using a "harmonic aspectarian". It is also a tool for the experienced astrologer who wants to follow closely transit, progression and solar arc cycles, including transits on composite charts. The program creates ephemeris lists for any given combination of planets providing dates of the transit itself, of stations and of sign changes.Advanced modules include search and analysis for groups of charts, a 3D globe for relocation and maps similar to Astro*Carto*Graphy. All features are explained in a built-in tutorial. What Watch uses Swiss Ephemeris for calculations. Objects available include the Luminaries, the planets Mercury to Neptune, the dwarf planets Ceres, Pluto, Quaoar and Sedna, the centaurs Chiron, Pholus, Nessus and Asbolus, the Moon's nodes and Lilith.' You can even adjust aspect orbs, on your own if you like. There are skin choices too for your eye taste. IP: Logged |

HSC,Parallels can be calculated by using the declination table available as the "extra information" PDF on astro.com. Planets at the same degree of declination N or the same degree of declination S are parallel to each other. Planets which are in the same degree but opposite N or S from each other are contraparallel. Declining, Tim IP: Logged |

Wow, thanks, Slayer. This looks great. But, for some reason, even though i entered the same time and location, it gives me a chart that is different from my own. The only way I could find to make it look like my chart, was to move my birthtime up several hours. What am I doing wrong?? Also, I cannot get the window to open wide enough or long enough to show everything on the page, and there is no scrolling, lol! Tim,
Okay, I see a link to "View the Additioonal Tables (PDF)". Is this what you mean? Yup, it must be, I see a column listing declinations. So, now I just look to find declinations that are in the same degree, N or S? I thought they could be within 1 degree orb? Doesnt that mean they could be in the next degree over, higher or lower, provided it is not more than a total of 60 minutes away? Thanks Again, Steve

For instance, it gives my Sun at 16°0'56"S and my Moon at 15°51'10"S... They are only 9 minutes apart, right? Wouldn't they be considered parallel? If not, why not?thanks, s IP: Logged |

Hey HSC, Well, it should be normal that there is no scrolling. Because it shows everything in one page and the screen is pretty wide. I dont know what the problem is really. By clicking preferences, you should first default location of where you were born. I guess after that you wont need to move your birthtime several hours. I hope you can figure out what's wrong, because it's a nice program, with lots of useful tools. I am glad you liked it IP: Logged |
