Hey everyone, I think there's a thread lingering out there about this but I am not sure. Anyway, I was wondering which is more of a profound effect with synastry/house placements, would it be Mars or Venus in someones 8th house, or their Mars or Venus in your 8th house(honestly I really haven't noticed any effects of house placements at all)? But I am sure some of you out there have had experiences with it, what do you think?------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

Venus would be more "profound" in a long-term relationship, because of the reciprocity, sympathy and gentle love of Venus is brought to the partner's 8th, which rules sex, money, and the deeper psyche. There's a lot of beneficial energy there, where the Venus person can be a sort of "haven" for the 8H person. Love between them may take on an obsessive quality. The only real danger is that the Venus may begin to feel drained by the 8H person if the giving natue of the Vensuian person isn't reciprocated elsewhere in the synsatry. With Mars in the 8th, that's a highly erotic and fiery contact. The Mars person tends to generate a lot of deep sexual passion and desire in the *H person, and their sexual encounters may be both very intense and deeply satisfying. At least at first, if the partners are up for a fast, hot 'n heavy affair. But the Mars person may burn out the 8H person over time, or ego conflict may abrupt suddenly out of seemingly nowhere. Usually the ego conflicts come from one of the partners feeling used, or over jealousy or overpossessiveness. This can be a tricky contact to deal with in a long term realtionship, but for the short term, the erotic nature of this can be, well, quite enjoyable for both partners. IP: Logged |

My Eros & Mars are in my boyfriend's 8th house. We also have Mars/Venus
Look for stable aspects also.

Umm... What about Sun, Mars, Mercury, Chiron AND Vesta in someones 8. house...? I have all those planets in his 8. house... I don't have a sexual relationship with him, but that would probably indicate lots of fire in that department, right?------------------ Gemini Sun Libra Moon Cancer Rising Cancer Venus Gemini Mars IP: Logged |

In platonic relationships, 8th house contacts can increase overall attraction and bonding on a deeper level. There may a "transformative" quality to your friendship which can be welcomed or not. You can have a very enlightening effect on each other, if you're open to the growth and revelations. There may also be issues with ego conflicts, depending on other aspects. With such heavy contacts it's important to keep a balanced frienship, and not allow one person to become to dependant or obssessive with the other. This can be benecifical in areas of money and real estate. However, again, finanacial dependency on each other should be treated with care and caution. IP: Logged |

It's not that I don't WANT to have a sexual relationship with him, though.. But it would be the house person feeling the attraction, right? Not the planet person? Or was that libraschoice question in the first place? Were you the house or the planet when you said you didn't notice any effects at all, libraschoice? Just wondering ------------------ Gemini Sun Libra Moon Cancer Rising Cancer Venus Gemini Mars IP: Logged |

Actually Fluke, I've been both, once I was the one whose 8th house was touched by someones Mars, and then the other where my Venus hit two different 8th houses'. And there didn't seem to be any effect ether way. What the heck?? So I wonder if that also is something of preferance, whether or not the person can relate to that house and whats going on within it(or whats not going on)?! It's making me really change how I see astrology. The only thing I can really FEEL is when someone else's Mars touch's my Mars in a synastry aspect.------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

Fluke - normally, it's the House person who feels "energized" by the other's planet, but there may be a degree of mutuality in the effect as well. Sort of liek the planet person getting "feedback" or even a "high" off of energizing the other person. Other aspects can enhance mutual effects too. Libra - One problem with the 8th house is it's a DEEP house and its effects aren't always obvious on the surface, depending on things like 8H house ruler, planets, aspects, yadda yadda.
There's may be something about the 8H in your chart that is making it difficult for you to "feel" energizing synastry contacts. Like if your 8H is ruled by Cap or Aqua, you may feel a little more disconnected from it than other houses. This may be an area you could do some soul-searching in, to get more in touch with it. Well, there's a logic to the zodiac, and sp we can assume there's reason way the 8H comes immediately *after* the 7H. IP: Logged |

An ex of mine had his scorpio mars in my 8th house in exact opposition to my mars. Any inhibitions were gone, all bets were off, anything goes – it was just downright erotic and so damn HOT.

My Mars is in his 8th House and my Venus in his 7th. His Mars is in my 7th and his Venus in my 6th. Wonder if this is a good thing :\IP: Logged |
