I know that the Descendant indicates what type of people we are attracted to, and that the Vertex acts as a secondary Descendant. But which one do you think is more significant in synastry?IP: Logged |

My descendant is in Capricorn and so is my Juno and I always attract Capricorn women in my life whether in school, work, or as friends.I only dated 1 Cappy guy but his piece of crap Moon in Aquarius, Aquarius Ascendant, and His stupid Venus in Sag and Mars in Gem was a real nightmare. I meet Capricorn men but don't get attracted to them.
I usually attract Cancers or Scorps. My Ascendant is Cancer and so in my North Node. North node and Sun in the 12th. I'm also on the Gemini/Cancer cusp.
The only thing I have in Scorpio is my 5th house, my Jupiter, and my Ceres. My Neptune is on the Scorp/Sag cusp 5th house IP: Logged |

My Vertex is in Sag and so is my Lilith and Neptune. Lilith on the 29th degree.I never attract Sag Suns. But I do fight with them a lot. Vertex in the 5th Lilith in the 6th Neptune in the 5th Scorp/Sag Cusp.

My Descendant is Gemini and I have alwasy attracted Gemini men including my husband of 15 years and a priest who fell in love with me when I was quite young. I am also Gem, sun.My rising is also Sag but my Vertex is Cancer. D. and I have reverse double whammy Vertex Ascendants. My Vertex is 27 Cancer and so is his Ascendant. His Vertex is Sag 13 and so in my Ascendant. My Ascendant falls in his 5th house. His Ascendant falls in my 8th. The moment we meet 12 years ago, the ascendant stood at 13 Sag and the Vertex 27 Cancer. So there you go I guess. IP: Logged |

I remember reading somewhere on the net (can't remember on what webpage it was) that the Descendant has more to do with what kind of friends we attract, while the Vertex is more about the type of person we look for in love relationships. I can't really test that theory on myself, since both my Descendant and my Vertex are in Virgo ... I really am very attracted to a guy that has a lot of Virgo in his chart (Jupiter, Mars and Saturn in Virgo; Sun, Mercury and Neptune in the 6th House). His Vertex is conjunct my Sun (to the exact degree) and my Vertex is opposite his Moon (which is also exactly conjunct my Ascendant). However, I don't know if that attraction is more due to the Ascendant/Descendant or due to the Vertex. IP: Logged |

I'm pretty sure it's the anti-vertex that acts like a secondary descendant. The Vertex/Anti-Vertex axis is likened to the Ascendant/Descendant axis - the Vertex is more like a secondary Ascendant. http://thezodiac.com/notworth.htm IP: Logged |

I have Vertex on my Descendant... Although Vertex is always in the West side of the chart Vertex is also in a tight conjunction with my Sun in Pisces.

@LaurenNow you got me all mixed up ... I always thought that the Vertex is sort of a secondary Descendant. After all, that's what they say on Cafeastrology.com: "The Vertex is a point located in the western hemisphere of a chart (the right-hand side) that represents the intersection of the ecliptic and the prime vertical. In astrology, it is considered an auxiliary Descendant. The Anti-Vertex is the point that is exactly opposite the Vertex. Some astrologers refer to the Vertex as the "third angle" of a chart." I'm a little bit confused now IP: Logged |
