heck...i dont think i can delete it now....but lotus if you r reading it, sorry i was just trying to lighten up the thread a bit with salisa here and tho it might seem like i am blatantly poking fun at you, it has its upside because i think i have effectively managed to dissipate any negative feelings i had towards you...it helped a lot with restoring love and light....oops....sorry i just can't help myself

It's a shame to me because I can see how she is offended and once we get into personal beliefs, which is all they can ever really be, there will never be a concrete conclusion, no measuring stick for the argument.

You know, in life, we will never know if we are offending our God, or our Higher Self, or for some, Linda and others, so it really is difficult.

This for me is why relgion is utterly irrelevant other than a basic template of morality at best.

I believe in freedom, but I also know that that is the biggest excuse some have to fall back on for being unreasonable,crass and disrespectful.

I think Lotus, you will just have to trust that God intended the path to be bumpy. Also, that people walk at their own pace. The other thing that might concern me is that although perhaps enlightened, as perhaps some are, do we really as humans beings even possess the nessecary senses to perceive Heaven in it's entirety?

Can imagination and even love be enough to paint the full picture?

Then it becomes difficult to KNOW our vision is as accurate as we believe. We must walk our own path, but be respectful of others' journeys, and that works both for and against Lotus before this turns into a lynching job.

If that hasn't already happened.

i enjoyed the thread about penis size and boobs as much as the next person (see posts!) but i was also agreeing with and supporting another LL poster who, in stating her opinion did seem to upset quite a few people.

none of us is perfect, the path with always be bumpy (swerve - you said some very wise things and i too agree with many of the sentiments shared!) just sometimes, while being human we forget that we have the capacity for much, much more.

my apologies to anyone who might have taken offence or felt in any way 'victimised' by what i said.

I think it's just a case of different perspectives, different opinions.

Yours is as valid and worthy as anyone else's.

Including my own.

edit: also, just to add, isn't being offended when perceiving someone to be preaching at you as human as being offended that you feel people are lowering the tone of a predominantly spiritual forum? Surely, it's the opposite reaction on the same theme? In your opposition to each other you display remarkable similarities.

I realize tht certain topics may be offensive to someone. But isn't tolerance the whole point of spirituality (or at least a salient one?). We know how lotus feels about these issues. but can we not agree to disagree???

mezzoelf...please don't feel bad. yours was a very nice post. i feel that this discussion was long overdue. its just a clearing of air as i like to call it it had to happen some time. good that it happened. it just provided an outlet for the anger that has been simmering on this forum. an antidote to repression

Swerve, i reread those words of yours. if you had been around when this discussion started, it wudn't have taken the direction that it did (btw tht was another of those indirect cappy compliments )

I also feel bad that some of you find what lotus says so personally repugnant - this is a shame. as Swerve said, we are who we are with all sorts of differing beliefs. people ought to be allowed to state their opinions here in 'safety' - that is, to have them discussed but not derised!

people are so afraid of standing up for their beliefs these days out of fear of the accusation of fundementalism - we are ALL above this and better than this. so what lotus says may to some be a bit 'preachy'.... I think its refreshing to hear so many different sides to an argument and no one should take offence.
