** .. Current mp3 Files .. will appear in last ~hd~ post ..**
.. aug 1st '07 ..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
note: if an mp3 file does not play all the way through when streaming .. or fully download .. this could be due to data traffic when the list is posted .. or the data space availble for the browzer cache on one's hard drive ..
if you only get a partial file .. then best to wait a while and try downloading again ..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

* Listening to mp3 Audio files *

'streaming' mp3 files via broadband :

click on the link in your web browzer and the browzer should open the plug-in or programme designated to play mp3s as set in your browzer preference file .. if the audio quality is low / distorted try 'streaming' the file thru a programme such as "I -Tunes" .. or should that not work 'download' the file to your computer and listen to it via your computers' mp3 player ..

'downloading' the file for direct access from your computer :

best for dial-up connections and older computers connected to broadband ..
from within the drop-down link menu ( each link has one ) ..
in 'netscape' : .. go .. 'save link target as'
in 'explorer' : .. go .. 'download link to disc'

OT played my town last year....I sobbed into my wittle pillow because I had to work and couldn't go. Spirals in Hyperspace is my personal fav, ................................................................................P.S. I couldn't get any of these to play longer than a few seconds. Buffering issues. Could be cos the net is jammed this time of evening + it's Fri + I have dial-up whaaaa.

i can understand the 'dial-up' issue .. i only swapped over to broadband a few days back ..
to 'listen' via dial-up it's only feasible to download the file first ( 'save link target as' link menu command ) .. then play it off the disc drive .. ( header post edited 13th august '07 )
so yeah .. i know it's a pain in the butt trying to audition a trak in order to determine whether a lengthy download session is worth the computer time involved .. ( as far as uploading goes they can be sent as a batch ) ..

regarding the ozric trx : .. from a series of about 10 cds .. the ~ mellow trx were selected ~ and recorded to tape .. any ozric mp3s posted / to be posted are from that selection .. ( 22 ozric trx remaining ).. the data info under a link will give an indication of how long a 'download' might take .. ( the 192kbps rate seems to sound ok at medium sound levels ) ..
i'll probably leave any files posted up on the server for about 10 days .. that should give a 'download' time window option ..
( the 90 min. taped sequence worked out as far as listening goes )

as far as broadband goes .. it may enable audio streaming but other issues still remain ..
e.g some sites require one to use their embeded 'player' ..
some audio is in other formats .. e.g from that ozrics site .. some mp3s but mostly .ra ( 'real-audio ' format ) ..

I had one play! I feel quite accomplished. It was the 9.5 [last one] I don't know it. Would it be greedy to ask track to album info?
    I went to an MSN account and used IE [internet explorer]

~N~ .. :-) .. re:

** .. Would it be greedy to ask track to album info? .. **
greedy ?? .. er .. no
futile ?? .. probably .. ;-)

as in : it's from a cd that got taped .. and .. i've no record of the track titles ..
plus .. knowing the background to the cd's production .. it's probably is not available ..
come to think of it .. the cd might have been a 'demo' ..
( at a quess the trax were recorded late 80's or very early 90's ) ..

Hey thanks for putting up the Tibetan Horns, HD
Some of their music sounds like what I got to listen to when I was laid out a year ago with the needles once a week
I'll have to call Dr. Ren's office sometime and find out what music it was that they piped into the rooms -- I really enjoyed it, and a couple times did a bit of tripping off into Other Places.....

Hi HD- That live recording of McLaughlin/Dimeola/De Lucia (forgive spelling) I own that, and I will tell I was one of the lucky peeps to see that show in person. Goosebumps through most of the show. They would seamlessly go from solo, to duet, to trio, incredibly fast with absolutely NO ego on stage. They were very generous to one another! (Constitution Hall Wash. D.C.)~p.s. Jeff Beck opened a Santana show I went to. Beck rarely recorded to his potential (w/ a few exceptions like Rough&Ready Blow by Blow etc.) You ever listen to Miroslav Vitous?

ooooooooooooo .. am i envious .. :-)))

i've got a tape .. but no track listing or who played on which track ..
i.e. i'm guessing who was playing on the mp3 posted ..
as i can't hear J.McL.'s particular style on that one ..

just note i've Andreas Vollenweider on the other side of the J.S. tape ..
~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andreas_Vollenweider ~
sure plays good harp .. :-)
am listening to it now .. very relaxing ..
( be a candidate for mp3 conversion at some point in time .. )

re-fri night. Yours appears to be a duet that is not on the original. Much prized. I also own Passion Grace & Fire along w/ most of the Di Meola discography ( including the embarrasing stuff) total addict. Only 1 Paco though FYC's remind me the singers name? I loved them.
    McL work on Miles Davis Tribute to Jack Johnson makes it my fav Davis.
*edit Ahhh Roland Gift = 28/4/61 a fellow Taurus no wonder I liked him!

re:
** re-fri night. Yours appears to be a duet that is not on the original.**
that track came off the record ( vinyl ) ..
i'm fairly sure that it's a di meola composition .. trying to figure it by scrabbling thru old tapes .. i've bits of 'elegant gypsy' and one labled 'casino' .. but i've not listened to them in years .. i find the music somewhat frenetic .. a bit nerve jangling ..
re f.y.c. .. see y'found the singers name .. i mainly like them for andy coxs' rythmn guitar playing .. first heard him when he played in 'the beat' .. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beat_(band) ) .. their song 'mirror in the bathroom' .. ( got that tape on now .. not listened to it in years as well .. ) am sort of amazed some of these tapes actually work right .. although one of my favs' .. Santana in concert .. simply refuses to co-operate ..
( am not a huge fan of digitized audio .. cd's 'n such .. great for convenience .. but my ears prefer analogue ..)
those recent posted mp3s stemmed from the 'why ppl play guitar' thread(s) .. i keep thinking .. 'versatility' .. as one keyword ..
