This question is for those of you who are currently going through it, or those of you that have made it through intact.

How did it effect you? How strongly did you "feel" it? Did you come out of it feeling that you were in a better place than you were before...or worse?

I started to feel it mid-December...2 weeks before my 28th. It has been absolutely RELENTLESS ever since, and only growing stronger. "Cosmic kick in the a*s" doesn't even begin to describe it... I have never felt anything so powerful, or forceful in my entire life... You really do question your entire existance and the fate of your life. The Saturn Return is VERY real...

* Cranky * ..

i've calculated your chart before ..
it is .. January 2nd 1979 .. ???
( if not i aplogise as the chart title shows one name i.e yours .. but the internal 'name' is another KF .. but they're another year and not a cappy sun .. correct me if i'm wrong and i will calculate .. and eat my text if neccessary :-)) .. )

and it's showing your Saturn return is in September ..
plenty of other stuff going on from the 'outer planets'
.. I'll list them tomorrow if i can ..

but there's no Saturn transit on for you at the moment ( sorry .. see the following post for a correction on that )

transiting Jupiter/Uranus/Neptune are aspecting natal placements .. and tLillith is currently at square aspect to your natal Sun ..

mid december '06 .. shows tSaturn squaring your natal Venus ..

and yes that will be ongoing ..

re the 'no Sat transit in above post .. it just didn't show in the grid chart when i looked as it's not in a close enough orb .. but knowing what Saturn is currently doing .. that is likely what you feel .. as in 'relentless' .. as it went retro a few months ago and shall be going back to 18 deg Leo before it goes direct again .. thats why it's seems so drawn out as a transitional effect ...
i.e. it will aspect three times .. once in direct motion .. once in retrograde motion and once again in direct motion ...
yeah .. Saturn to Venus can feel fairly nasty ..

( edit addition .. t Saturn is aprox 2 deg prior to squaring your natal Uranus .. by retrograde motion )

My dad died a few weeks ago, during my exact Saturn return (second of three). He was a Saturn in Leo type too.

So, guess what mine has been all about?

I've been on hold in life for 10 years waiting for him to die.

Not sure what to do next, other than seriously relax for awhile, I suppose.

I was just going to tell you that my saturn return was stress free as i though it occured last march. Well according to this site i had three saturn returnshttp://www.bemyastrologer.com/saturnreturnbulletinleo.html#firstsaturnreturn.
My birthday is 2/27/77 and my first dates of saturn return( Oct 16 - Nov 4, 2005)was when my car's brakes failed during morning traffic. That was the scariest single event of my entire life. I dont recall any events happeing during the other dates given. Oh wait i do remember something. We put a bid in on a house Dec 2005 and was told two weeks before closing that the sellers backed out of the deal. it took us a while to get our money back. I was very dissapointed & christmas was not good that year.

HD - Thanks for the tip. I knew that Saturn hadn't gone into Virgo yet, and I was wondering when that was actually going to occur. The transits you mentioned seem to make sense, although everything that I've read about the Saturn return relates EXACTLY to what I've been feeling lately. Is it possible that I'm already "feeling" some of the vibes??? I've been so anxious, and restless and just generally pondering my life lately...not only pondering, but actually taking ACTION already to try and change things and move in a different direction.

Jen - I understand where you're coming from...I just lost my dad 6 months ago. I thought about the effect that has had on me as well, seeing as how, for a woman, the Saturn Return signifies relationships with our "fathers."

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnn

I have had an interesting and challenging and changing so much it's ridiculous Saturn Return.

Ask me if I am happy right now?

I am MF-ing fabulous.

Am I completely different than I was same time last year?

I am SOOOOOOOOO different.
I wouldn't have thought so, I was so conflicted. I was so uncertain, I was so misguided and lost.
Then it unfolded, and all those elusive strings tied themselves up, and badaboom. Changes.

I'm glad life isn't static. Control sucks sometimes.
Saturn didn't kick my ass, it kicked whoever's ass I was trying to be, and I faced up.
Let it happen. It's easier to swim with the current.. and I tell you, it's just as challenging. Somehow you'll be lead properly if you trust in the process. Keep your morals, and if you can't find them, make up new ones.

That was my Saturn return pep talk.

Nothing majorly happened during my saturn return - except I stopped talking to my abusive father for a few years. I didn't find my Saturn return to be so hard. It's not sooooo scary.....

At the moment I'm going through Saturn square Saturn and Pluto square Pluto. I'm going through some challenging times now with stress and things not feeling right for me at the moment.

my 2 cents worth

My SR was last summer. I took two months off work and travelled RTW on my own. Natally, Saturn is in my 9H, opposing Mars and Mercury in the 3rd and it coincided with a Uranus trine Uranus+Moon transit.

In effect, it changed my perception of who, what and where I am in the world. Although I made that decision myself - I probably may never have found the resolve were it not for family bereavements and the understanding that nothing ever lasts forever.

These days, its much like a hangover of an SR. I have this Jupiter sq. Saturn transit and it's currently rather testing. Home doesn't seem that interesting anymore . . .

I have saturn in the 2nd house conjunct my moon. Gotta wait til september til its gone which sucks but what can you do???

Thinking about the changes in me personally since this time last year and there have been a lot but over time so I only notice them in retrospect. My best friend has commented on a few things that made me think though.

This time last year I would've spent money without a thought on anything and everything. It made me feel happy and secure to have the money to do whatever I wanted, luckily I had the money otherwise I would have been completely lost!

These days, I am rather tight with my money and although I've had some major luck regarding money it doesn't make me wanna rush out and spend it! I'd rather spend time with friends sitting at home chatting over a coffee.

Being my saturn is conjunct my moon I've noticed some changes in my emotional wants and needs as well. Major growth there! I've learnt that I don't need to see or talk to someone every single say to stay in love with them. I've learnt that these things take time if they're to be done properly and true emotional compatability can't be created through a few weeks of intense talking, its takes time to know someone cos people can say whatever they want but can't keep it up forever if its just an act.

Overall its been an interesting time but I feel I've grown so much I'm certainly not complaining! I do wish september would hurry up though...

Transiting Saturn will reach your natal Saturn in December 2007 then it will go retrograde and return on its natal position in mid August 2008; they say Saturn return lasts in its effect during the whole period it goes back and forth until it passes over its natal position.
Slow planet's transits are often triggered by fast planets' transits especially if they form a configuration thus the event may occur when a transiting (slow) planet is few degrees to or even past the exact aspect.

Just roll with it... you can't really control who you will be after your Return.

I was freakin' miserable. Everything was wrong.. i ended a relationship, moved 1200 miles, lost 2 jobs.. and ended up in a place that I will grudgingly admit, makes me happy.

Seriously, you can't possibly plan where you will be or who you will be.

I wish I could be more specific- but that's not the way Saturn Returns work. It just happens, and either you accept it or you fight it. It makes sense after you have gone through it- and no matter what happens, you will be glad.
During mine, I was frantic and crazed, looking for advice and consolation. Its so unique to the individual, that nothing I can say will make you feel better.

Just roll with it, and you will be fine. You might feel REALLY sh!tty for awhile, but it works out.

I would say 'be ready to face your fears and be honest with yourself'. If you are not Saturn will make you do so.

There is a series of articles on Saturn return (Turning Saturn Around 1-6), hope they will be of help:

double post

added* I was doing OK during my SR didn't feel sh*tty at all.

I realized it's time to get real about my life and what I want in it. I came to understanding that it is I who is responsible for my own happiness and unhappiness not someone else (Saturn is ASC ruler in the 7th)!
Now I don't sit around expecting good things just to happen, I work hard to make them happen and I take full responsibility for what is going on in my life.

hi, Pery!
how did that SR affect your relationships? I also have a Saturn in my 7th (ruling the 11th and 12th though).

hey Cristiname,

I got a couple of marriage proposals during Saturn transit through my 7th house, (it is still there btw) but I decided to be single yet because I feel I cannot commit until I am emotionally ready for it; I broke up with someone I truly loved because he didn't want to wait for me any longer it was extremely painful but I know I did the right thing to let him go... (Saturn was in Cancer on my DSC then)
I first need to rectify my attitude towards myself and only then let other people into my life;

Yes, Cranky, HappyDragon is right… Venus-Saturn are a nasty transits. I have a natal conjunction and I’m about to come out of my Saturn return. I’ll be 30 in September… Still some months to go…

At the beginning, when Saturn first entered (and a while before) the 8th house, where my natal Saturn conjunction is, I thought I was heading to hell. My life became gloomy, dark, cold… I felt trapped in a humid stone cell becoming darker and darker. Hard transits come and go… But as you say, this experience is relentless…

I felt that I had been running away from things I needed to tackle out of fear. I had been ignoring them. But exam time was up. No more skipping classes or not doing homework.

First I pondered. I discovered that I was completely lost. I was so unhappy that was unbelievable and I couldn’t carry on putting up with it. Living a life that I didn’t like. I was terrified. I felt I had no control of my life, I mistrusted others because I didn’t even trust myself. The sense of loss, of abandonment was awesome… and that urge to do something about it, of changing it before it was too late. It felt as if I had no time, as if I was going to die immediately. I had to act.

I identified my problem. It comes to you. You suddenly see it. The master, Saturn, shows it to you plainly, with brutal cruelty and honesty. You have the choice of accepting it and do something about it or keep on living with it. Saturn helps you to see what you need to change, what is rotten in your life.

For me, my Saturn return is being about accepting that is OK the way I’m, that I need to love myself before I can expect others to do it. It’s all about trust, myself, others, life, the Universe… I cannot control everything. But I don’t need to. I will be guided to the best outcome… Even events that can appear bad for you may end up being the best that happened to you.

It was incredibly painful until I realised that. Until I forced me to stop and flow. Until I started to smile to my own face in the mirror and say ‘you are beautiful’. Until I forced me to give others the chance of not being potential traitors from day one. Until I allowed others to reach me, until I accepted help. Until I believed that my life is and will be wonderful. Until I faced my demons and I accepted that I had a problem and it was in my hands to do something about it.

It’s still hard work, but each time a bit less hard… And it’s so rewarding… Sometimes I feel as if Saturn was patting my shoulder whispering “Well done, darling, I’m so proud of you…”.

Good luck, Cranky!!!

Thanks for all the advice guys. I've read up some more on the Saturn/Venus transit, and that does seem to make a lot of sense. In a way, maybe it's good that it came along now, so perhaps I have some idea of what to expect when the return comes along.

Does anyone (HD?) know when this Saturn/Venus transit will be ending? I feel like it's been good in a way as far as pushing me to do some things that I might not have done, but I'm still feeling isolated, anti-social, and depressed...
