** Your Starcast for February 18-March 19 **

The astrological month opens with a blast of emotional intensity (even more so with the Sun's move into touchy Pisces) as lovely Venus squares can't-hold-still Pluto, urging you to go after your true desires -- and let go of the people, places and things no longer serve you. Add to that the lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 3, and you'll be forced to deal with any and all health issues -- both spiritual and physical. If you didn't live up to the New Year's resolutions you made back in January, the Chinese New Year gives you another chance to get yourself in gear. And if that's not enough to get you motivated, Mercury goes direct on March 7, giving you the cosmic courage to charge full-steam ahead!

February 19: Venus square Pluto

You know all the intensity that's been going on in your relationships? There's more here. Venus in sensitive, romantic Pisces can sometimes put rose-colored glasses on our outlook. Those shades come off now as Pluto's confrontation with Venus in this square makes you aware of what you can and can't control when it comes to relationships. Something needs to be released. Determine what you need to let go of. Is it a person or simply old beliefs that don't serve you anymore? It's time to transform your relationship values to reflect the person you are today.

February 21: Venus enters Aries

As the planet of love enters this highly active fire sign, it's time for you to get off the couch, turn off your computer and go out and do something! Looking for a mate? Try signing up for competitive sports: Racket ball, tennis or even getting into the batting cage are all fabulous ways to meet someone now. For those already with someone, keep in mind that Aries is the mythological god of war. This time can spark your passion; to fan those flames, choose an activity and get out of the house. Otherwise, you may turn your beady eyes on each other -- and that's probably not a good idea!

February 22: Mercury conjunct Sun

When retrograding Mercury connects with the Sun, you return to conversations that offer valuable information -- but it's not time to act on that data. For now, store it away. You'll be able to use it next month after Mercury turns direct on March 8. This conjunction takes place in Pisces, giving you a great opportunity to tune into the non-logical mind. Use your imagination and intuition to help you find solutions to big questions. Sometimes the answers are in the least likely places. Be open to that now.

February 25: Mars enters Aquarius

As action-oriented Mars leaves pragmatic, let's-climb-a-mountain Capricorn and enters one of the most independent signs of the zodiac, it's time for you to get creative, innovative and start coloring outside the lines. If you can harness the assertive energy of Mars and the determination of this fixed air sign, you can make inroads into areas you never thought possible.

February 27: Mercury enters Aquarius

As retrograding Mercury, the planet of communication, re-enters altruistic Aquarius on February 27, you are returning to old conversations and ideas. Leaving behind the emotionalism of Pisces for now, you have the opportunity in this innovative air sign to develop your ideas and to return to conversations with those who can help you. If you know which house Mercury is traveling through in your chart, you can apply those ideas to that area of your life.

February 28: Saturn opposes Neptune

In this opposition, realistic Saturn is challenging idealistic Neptune to put in the hard work so that you can manifest your dreams. Last year on August 31, the first of three oppositions took place. Back then you had a chance to assess your life and see where necessary changes needed to occur. Letting go of fantasies is a part of this period. At this second pass, take time to step back and analyze what it is that you need to do to move yourself forward and live the life of your dreams. Have you left your fantasy life behind? Watch out for denial. This is still the middle of the process though so don't expect changes overnight! The third of this opposition series takes place on June 25 this year, when you will begin to get your ducks in a row.

March 3: Virgo lunar eclipse

Over the past year with eclipses occurring in the axis of Virgo and Pisces, the signs of physical and spiritual health, you and the world are focusing on becoming healthier. Issues of food and water purity, exercise, the medical system and the environment are all receiving attention. Uranus' influence on this eclipse clearly signals that it's time to institute major changes. Lunar eclipses are like an extra-intense full Moon, which is an emotional high-tide time when you can assess where you are emotionally. In the days following this Moon but before the next new Moon on March 19 -- which is a solar eclipse -- get a plan together to improve your body, mind and spirit. Invest in what's working or make changes that will make you feel more comfortable. Apply yourself to a goal, a project, a dream. This is a serious Moon that stimulates you to accomplish your goals. Analyze, plan, get organized and implement!

This full Moon will most affect those born March 1-5, June 2-6, September 4-8 and December 4-8.

March 5: Sun conjunct Uranus

Are you ready to be liberated? Or is your life so fabulous that it couldn't benefit from something new and different? As the Sun travels through Pisces and meets up with eccentric Uranus, change is in the air. Conjunctions mark beginnings, and it's time for a new cycle. Surprises will occur, but know that this is appropriate for you now. It's time to reinvent yourself and leave behind old concepts that have nothing to do with you anymore.

March 7: Mercury turns direct

As Mercury ends its retrograde in Aquarius, it's time to incorporate everything you've learned since Mercury turned retrograde in Pisces on February 14. As this communication planet has traveled from a sensitive water sign back into a logical air sign, it'll be necessary to go back to old conversations with a more detached perspective. At times you may have felt that you were straddling two worlds: the emotions of your heart and the intellectual perspective of your mind. Now, however, with Mercury direct you can confidently implement the changes that you desire.

March 8: Venus trine Jupiter;
March 9: Venus trine Saturn

Lovely Venus in feisty Aries forms a grand trine with enthusiastic Jupiter and serious Saturn -- providing a wealth of support! This is a great aspect for socializing and for advancing your personal and business relationships. Saturn provides stability, so you can go out on a limb and not risk falling. It seems like everybody loves you now, so take advantage of the goodwill.

March 9: Sun square Jupiter

Feeling misunderstood? Sometimes you can't fathom the world and the world can't fathom you. The Sun in sensitive Pisces wants to connect on an emotional level. Jupiter in Sagittarius is like an enthusiastic, well-meaning bull in a china shop. This is a highly optimistic square that is prone to overcommitment. Yet, at the same time, sometimes you need that over-the-top enthusiasm to accomplish things you wouldn't dream of otherwise.

March 16: Jupiter trine Saturn

This week, expansive Jupiter in Sagittarius is wildly optimistic, while restrictive Saturn in Leo has leadership capabilities and a great sense of authority. When these two are in harmony -- as they are with this trine aspect -- you'll experience balance in your social and financial lives. You should have a solid sense of where you are and what you want to improve in your life.

March 17: Venus enters Taurus

The planet of relationship in the sign of values brings an emphasis on the nuts and bolts of your relationships, and on your financial life. This is a great time to assess how you handle your money -- no matter if it's with your partner, your child or your accountant. Your monetary situation deserves thoughtful consideration now.

March 18: Mercury enters Pisces

Mercury reenters Pisces, settling down into the sign where its last retrograde began on February 14. The power of your imagination during this transit will help you dream up ideas you hadn't previously considered. After Mercury's recent review, your ideals now seem sensible. It is time to think through how you can make everything come true.

March 18: Pisces solar eclipse
When eclipses occur, dramatic events are abundant. This solar eclipse in Pisces signals the importance of your spiritual life, making this a great time to take a retreat or simply set aside time to be more contemplative. A solar eclipse means a new Moon as well, and that always marks a new cycle. Keep in mind that Pisces rules secrets -- and when highlighted, can also reveal them. Pluto is in a tight square to this eclipse, as it's about to turn retrograde later this month. When Pluto is prominent, something has to be let go; this could be a person, a job or a deeply held belief.

This new Moon will most affect those born March 16-20, June 18-22, September 19-23 and December 18-22.

Enjoy the Sun's transit in Pisces!

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday Feb 18th ~

"There is some rocking and rolling to a new celestial beat this morning as Venus moves 45 degrees to Chiron (5:53AM PST), Mars parallels Jupiter (6:36AM PST), and the Moon conjuncts Uranus in Pisces (8:59AM PST). If you were anticipating a calm and peaceful Sunday morning, think again. Be prepared for surprises, shock waves and powerful revelations that can knock your socks off. Revolutionary forces are on the march and a radical change may be due in your life. Steer clear of picking fights with well-meaning friends or family members. Criticizing yourself is also out of bounds - particularly with a Mars-Jupiter contact happening that can signify an acute, large-scale challenge that needs to be surmounted or defused. Increase faith and trust that your instincts will lead you to greater success on the business and romantic horizons. You may want to consider a major change in your diet while the Moon makes its monthly conjunction with Ceres in Pisces (5:16PM PST). Look into the benefits of juicing fruits and vegetables to extract large quantities of their life-enhancing vitamins and trace minerals. Dance away the moody blues this evening following the Sun's entrance into Pisces (5:10PM PST). Clean up your emotional act as Sunday shifts into Monday along with the arrival of fiery Aries Moon tomorrow morning."

Awww, man. Can't wait until Mercury goes direct again. Heard from the soon-to-be-ex today that the lawyer has our papers ready, and just realized that it's best to wait until Mercury goes direct. I'm right about that part, aren't I? But I thought it was just happy things you wanted to put off until Mercury is direct?

It's killing me, this whole situation, and I'd rather get it over with as soon as possible (just rip off the band-aid), but I'm worried about it sticking. I want it to, and if I have to wait to sign, I will. It's highly ironic that to ensure there are no delays, you have to wait out an Rx Mercury...

Sunshine, *not so sunshiney any more*

i can't wait until it's direct also. it's hovering over me like a raincloud. my mercury is in pisces. it went retrograde in my 6th house and i got some nasty flu that's going around but i don't know if it's a flu anymore! it's awful. i came home for a weekend and everyone's car is broken down. i also bombed a test the day after mercury went retrograde because i couldn't think straight at all. i studied for days.. it's hard to keep a level head!

i'm also signing a lease on the 2nd of march and i'm a tad bit concerned about signing then (i have to, it's an appointment. i also want a good studio apartment before they're all taken). i don't think that there would be any delays involving it, but i fear there might be considering the way this retrograde has really shook things up for me a lot more than the last one. i'm picturing something like a fax machine failing... etc. etc.

oh well, i shouldn't think negatively.

Cosmic Calendar, Monday Feb 19th ~

"Strange forces are on the prowl during the first 24 hours of Solar Pisces. The morning appears to be a mixed bag of cosmic influences as Venus makes an awkward, 150-degree aspect to Pallas (5:49AM PST) and then conjuncts the Moon in Pisces (7:45AM PST). While the Venus-Pallas liaison cooks up some anxiety and stress, the monthly lunar union with Venus is one of the more uplifting times of the month. Adding to the confusion is a void lunar cycle starting at 8:44AM PST and ending at 11:07AM PST when the Moon enters Aries. It is wise to finish old business and projects during the 2+ hours when the Moon is in limbo and void. Once the Moon enters Aries (11:07AM PST), you can feel supercharged with energy and vitality. Healing old wounds and pains is a must during the afternoon hours - thanks to a Sun-Chiron parallel (4:38PM PST). This is also a wonderful time to build rainbow bridges of support to friends and pen pals around the world. Soul-searching and mystical studies are highlighted. A red-alert sounds this evening when Venus in Pisces forms a frictional square to Pluto in Sagittarius (7:56PM PST). Emotional thunderstorms rip through the psychic atmosphere and no one is immune. Being aware that the alignment is happening and the time when it is occurring is half the battle in avoiding a breakdown in affairs of the heart and delicate business negotiations. A go-it-alone strategy may not be successful. Be willing to lean on a friend or mentor for support if the going gets rough."

Weekly Weather Forecast from Anne Ortelee --Feb 19-25 ~
quote:
Expect a bit of rock and roll on earth as four planets change signs within a week ~ Venus into Aries, and Mars into Aquarius. Yesterday, the Sun went into Pisces. And next Monday, Mercury retrogrades back into Aquarius. Venus and Mars will continue their sextile dance with each other, slowly, as they are separating. Now they are out of earth and water and into fire and air. You know what fire and air do to each other! Expect the fires to flare, even with their moving apart. There are a number of crabbier aspects in the week ahead too ~ squares, semis and sesquis. Squares, semis and sesquis make us FEEL like we need, want or have to take action, even if we don’t KNOW what we need, want or have to take action toward. Not fun.

Focus, as Mercury moves deeper into his retrograde, on getting your ducks in a row and doing what you love. There is not anything you can do about the stuff you do not love. There is not anything you can do about the stuff you are worried about. You can only do what you love right now. Focus on that. Work on it as much as you can.

Mercury and Saturn are both working on the bigger problems in your life. They are both retrograde and having a conference about what they want to do about the situation in your life. Let them go work it out. Leave them and it alone. Give them space and time to work on the problem. Now, as for You ~ you go work on the stuff you can do something about. Get ready for when Saturn goes direct mid-April. He’s going to move like a house a fire once he switches direction. Get your papers in order now while Mercury is backwards and get ready for when Mercury goes direct early March. Get your dreams moving towards a new reality to take advantage of the Saturn opposition to Neptune at the end of the month. It feels like the sides of the world are softer and more open to being pushed towards what you would like to create.

And, last but not least, we are in the first day of the Chinese year of the Golden Pig, a magical year that occurs every 600 years. It is calculated using a combination of the Chinese zodiac and yin and yang theory. This year is also called chonghae , which means a red pig. A red pig year occurs every 60 years. The red pig year is believed to be a most auspicious year for starting businesses and expanding family. Pigs in the Chinese astrology system are symbols of wealth and good luck. Pigs are omnivorous animals that survive well under any climate and circumstances. They are fertile, giving birth to 6 to 12 piglets on average. Pigs grow faster than most other animals. Dreams about pigs are thought to be auspicious, foretelling the gain of wealth or abundance.

I love it every time the various astrological traditions arrive at the same information using different methodologies. Here, I have been making noise about it being the beginning of the next 12, 14 or 30 years of your life while the Chinese astrologers are saying the next 60 or 600 years of your life! Gotta love it! So, regardless of which tradition you look at, get your world ready. Focus on the stuff you can get ready, for the next 12, 14, 30, 60 or 600 years of your life! Once Saturn goes direct mid-April, your life is going to take off like a rocket.

Monday, Venus has an opening square to Pluto bringing up her issues from early December 2006. Right after Saturn stationed, she joined with Pluto to start a new cycle. Now she has an opportunity to adjust those plans to get what she truly wants. She is also in a bit of a snit with Juno as she forms an inconjunct with her. Now Juno is about tradition and the way things are supposed to be to support what society wants. Venus is NOT in the mood to support what society says Venus should be. Venus wants what she wants when she wants it. She is NOT going to be happy today. Her desire nature is thwarted. However, in a couple of days, after she moves into Aries ~ well watch out world! If you are frustrated by NOT getting what you want because it is not nice, kind or perfect or whatever every one else or your mother or society wants you to have, today is one of the days when you are going to get a bit cranky about it. Temper tantrums abound. Smile, nod and go on your way. Bide your time and your temper.

Tuesday, the Moon in Aries makes nice aspects with Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn. In a few weeks, when Venus gets to the late degrees of Aries (and she will), she is going to remember what fun the Moon had today. I find during readings that folks often do not know what they want. They know what they DO NOT want. So creating a positive list out of a negative list is the way to go to figure out what you want. Yesterday, you were VERY clear about what you did NOT want! So make your positive list today as the Moon aspects Neptune, Jupiter and Saturn. Venus is paying attention. She may not be able to move toward it yet but she is listening. Moon, on the other hand, is irritated and VERY clear about what emotionally irks her ~ so you will be quite clear if you write it in positive words.

Wednesday, Venus enters Aries. As the ardent nature of zodiac fire pulses through Venus’s being, feel the flaring of her desire. Venus ignites when in the Cardinal primal nature of Aries flames and essence. In an interesting juxtaposition, it is also Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. All around the world, folks are walking around with ashes crossed into the middle of their forehead. The ashes mean they were reminded, “Remember that you are dust and unto dust you shall return.” I always loved Ash Wednesday ~ life is short. Make the most out of your life before you turn back into dust! Neptune has an aspect with Ceres to remind us of the cycle of life.

Thursday, there are a couple of squares with Mercury and Mars as the Sun joins with retrograde Mercury. When Mercury is combust the Sun, he gets a certain crystal clear and penetrating clarity about the things in his world. Expect to see or process more ideas about the pattern you observed at 20,000 feet last week. Mars continues Venus’ argument with Juno about the role of tradition versus what your own unique dreams are. Lately, I have been noticing how hard it is to hold on to our OWN voices and thoughts. Clients have been commenting on it too during our readings. SO many other voices speak, talk, and demand we listen to them. TV, radio, advertising, images, internet. Voices of others fill our days with chatter and shoulds and coulds and woulds and have tos. Take time today, as Mercury squares Vesta to think what makes YOU happy in your own home and hearth. What is your voice asking you to do? Give your voice some time to speak to your soul today.

Friday has a bit of an emotional crabby feel ~ what did you dream last night? Your dreams were particularly important and possibly quite disturbing. I want you to write them down. The Moon in Taurus made aspects to Neptune and Saturn as you slept. The heavens were giving you important information in that dream of yours. Make sure to tell it to a few people to see what they think of it. Neptune is trying to point out the pattern to you. Saturn is trying to get your attention to do what you love and let go of the shame. No judgments. Just notice the dream. Tell your therapist. Tell your friends. Tell your diary. Tell your family. Just get it out of your head and heart. Get it written down and in front of you on paper so you can see it. It is an important dream!

Saturday brings another bit of a breakthrough kind of energy with Mercury chatting with Uranus by declination. Mars and Pluto are having a bit of a spat. Then Mars goes on to argue with Uranus. These three planets talking together are generally NOT fun energies on earth. They can be violent, mean and nasty. In our lives, they are clarifying if unpleasant. Go back to yesterday’s dream or disturbances. They are all related. Saturn is aspecting Pallas asking you to try and see the pattern between the dream, the synchronicity of events in your life and the events of yesterday and today. Unfortunately, our consciousness is revealed to us slowly over time. Poke at it a bit. Dig at it a bit. It is all about releasing and changing the fixed parts of your being and letting them evolve into the best they can be. Chat up any and all ghosts who appear today. Don’t be afraid. Look them clearly in the eye and chat them up.

Sunday, Venus is a busy gal as she aspects and links up the energy of Neptune, Saturn and Vesta. Neptune and Saturn are tightening up their opposition for next week, round two. If you think about the story from last August and early September 2006 and what is going on now, do you see the pattern? See how the stories are related? It is time to dissolve the old structures that no longer serve you. Change. Evolve. Grow. A tree is about to tip over in the forest of your life. You are going to see the sky. Rain. Sunshine. A structure in your life is moving on. Time for you to get ready to move! As Mars enters Aquarius, air of Mars combines with the fire of Venus in Aries. Yes, the energies are separating, for now, but soon they will join up again. In the meantime, let Venus speak to your heart about what you desire. Let Mars make a big picture plan for how to get it. Get your ducks, ideas, dreams and plans in a row for when Saturn goes direct in Mid-April and Mercury goes direct next month.

Mundane: I love weeks like this. The astrology promises a rocking and rolling week on earth. We are going to find out such cool stuff! The aspects are all over the place. With this kind of turbulence, things inevitably pop to the surface of the water, bob along and let us scoop them up. Read the message in the bottle and watch for clues!

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday Feb 20th ~

"Like last Friday, the cosmos appears to be reticent to blast you with light sabers and phasers. If this were a real attack by the dark side of the Force or the Klingons, you would certainly know it. Instead, there are golden opportunities that are suddenly right in front of you once last night's Venus-Pluto altercation fades into the background. Coming to the rescue is a flowing Moon-Jupiter trine in fire signs (2:33PM PST). It is time to build, construct and be the architect of your dreams and visions. Tap into educational resources - at your residence, online or in a local library - during the morning and afternoon hours. Listen to the masterworks of great composers in concert with a supportive 60-degree link between the Moon in Aries and Neptune in Aquarius (7:34PM PST). Sink your teeth into a nitty-gritty work assignment or learning program as the Moon makes a flowing trine pattern with Saturn (8:56PM PST). Any lunar affiliation with Saturn can automatically mean that some kind of slow-down, delay or pause may ensue. Cast off old fears as the night wears on. This is particularly accentuated as Venus completes a full journey through the zodiac by leaving Pisces for Aries at 12:22AM PST tomorrow. Many bold ideas and intuitive flashes can arrive as you awaken on Wednesday. Keep a notebook by your bed to record key thoughts for future reference."

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday Feb 21st ~

"Lights! Camera! Action! Excitement is palpable as Venus shifts out of watery Pisces and enters fiery Aries (12:22AM PST) until March 17. If you are eager and anxious to add more passion and pizzazz to a romantic bond, then take advantage of Venus moving through this martial sign of the zodiac. However, Venus is not always a happy camper when it travels through a sign ruled by the red planet. Be prepared for periodic setbacks and hassles as you try to seize the initiative on the love front. Venus in Aries can boost your talents in arts, crafts, carpentry work and unusual hobbies. A void lunar cycle starts at 9:43AM PST and continues until 12:04PM PST when the Moon enters Taurus - the zodiacal sign of its exaltation. Complete odds and ends during the void lunar time-period. Once the Moon enters earthy Taurus (12:04PM PST), it's a good time to zero in on financial matters and business interests. Resume your physical fitness routines with a vengeance. Find time for a soulful nature trek. Be more fashion-conscious and stock up on soaps, lotions and beauty products. You can achieve great results in literary endeavors as the Moon forms a supportive sextile pattern of 60 degrees to Mercury (8:48PM PST). This is magnified by the approaching Earth, Mercury and Sun line-up tomorrow night - a phenomenon that occurs about every 4 months and known as the Inferior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury. Use your hands in productive ways via massage, acupressure and reflexology work. Singing and reciting poetry can be a wonderful way of expressing yourself during Taurus Moon."

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday Feb 22nd ~

"Weather permitting, the Moon in Taurus is accentuating any game plan you have regarding planting, gardening and soil cultivation. Real-estate issues will sometimes pop up on your radar screen while the lunar orb inhabits this first earth sign of the zodiac. Be more cautious when it comes to financial wheeling and dealing right now as Mercury squares Vesta (10:09AM PST) while Mars locks horns with Juno in a similar sky pattern (3:34PM PST). The Mercury-Vesta fracas is a reminder to examine your investment portfolio with a fine-tooth comb. The Mars-Juno discordant link is often associated with temporary volatility in a primary partnership. Don't make matters worse by launching verbal salvos that you will quickly regret. The big news of the day arrives at 8:47PM PST when Mercury retrograde and the Sun converge at 5 degrees of Pisces. This is also known as the Inferior Conjunction of Sun-Mercury - with these two celestial bodies aligned with the Earth in the solar system. The eminent astrologers Dr. Marc Edmund Jones and Dane Rudhyar entitled this a 'New Mercury' - a sky phenomenon that occurs approximately every 4+ months and represents a new birth of inspiring ideas seeking recognition by eager and curious human minds on our planet. Opportunities to expand your consciousness and evolve on the educational front are all around you. Take advantage of this potent cycle to enrich your intellectual and intuitive awareness."

Happy New Mercury, everybody!!

Cosmic Calendar, Friday Feb 23rd ~

"If you are feeling a little shell-shocked, it goes with the astrological territory for the time being. Yesterday's trio of celestial alignments is still having a powerful influence and now there is an infusion of new cosmic craziness. A Ceres-Saturn awkward, 150-degree alignment (12:47AM PST) may equate with parents or elders needing extra attention and support. It wouldn't hurt to also give children in your family circle a helping hand. The morning is also glowing with potential breakthroughs related to your creative imagination and dream recollection abilities - courtesy of a rare Pallas-Neptune union in Aquarius (1:34AM PST). This invigorating sky pattern can also coincide with increasing your knowledge about ways to boost your immune system. Learn more about the attributes of herbs, vitamins and minerals that can stave off illness and increase your physical vitality. A void lunar cycle begins at 11:48AM PST and concludes at 2:43PM PST when the Moon enters airy Gemini. After 2:43PM PST, reading, writing and literary pursuits of almost any kind are back in style. This is amplified by a Mercury-Uranus parallel (9:17PM PST) that also switches on an urge to explore the high tech and computer realms. What brings you down to earth are a Sun-Vesta 90-degree skirmish from Pisces to Sagittarius (7:15PM PST) and a First Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (11:57PM PST) - energizing 6 degrees of Pisces-Gemini. These two square patterns speak of the need for extra care and caution on the business and communication fronts. Going too far too fast can boomerang with nasty results. Be a problem solver rather than a problem creator."

Cosmic Calendar, Saturday Feb 24th ~

"Hang in there while celestial tensions persist over the weekend. Early risers who love antiques and collectibles may be able to locate amazing finds at garage sales and art fairs. The scene changes a little from yesterday's emotional rollercoaster ride. Pallas in Aquarius moves away from its conjunction to Neptune and swings into a polarity with Saturn in Leo (10:53AM PST). This alignment - along with communication-strong Gemini - suggests that you connect strongly with a mentor or teacher. Take your educational and career pursuits more seriously. Ingenious ideas can find a home in your mental universe. The afternoon hours can become rather complicated due to the arrival of an explosive Mars-Uranus 45-degree confrontation (3:43PM PST). Easy does it in delicate relationship matters. You may have to tip-toe around touchy subjects for the next 24 hours or so as any Mars-Uranus joust can turn into a battle royal. You can find solace and consolation in a favorite author's or poet's masterworks during Gemini Moon. Musical improvisation, game playing and schmoozing with pals are other ways to steer clear of the martial-uranian psychic storms that are engulfing much of the human population right now. Men are more prone to losing their cool today, but the shoe is on the other foot tomorrow when women receive their fair share of the uncertainty factor. Utilize the evening hours to inject humor and levity into your home environment and family circle."

Here's the thread I had in mind about Mars Returns..... http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/008431.html
Mars Returns are said to set the "energy pattern" for the following 2-yr-approx Mars cycle.....

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday Feb 25th ~

"Shocks and surprises should have been fairly commonplace on Saturday when the red planet and revolutionary Uranus pulled strings. Today's morning hours put Venus into the crosshairs as the traditional planet of love moves 45 degrees to Neptune (4:30AM PST) and 135 degrees to Saturn (10:38AM PST). Since we are only 3 days from a Saturn-Neptune polarity, this interaction among Venus, Saturn and Neptune actually creates a celestial triangle of dubious merit. It would be great to say that you can simply become an inspired artist (Neptune) and savvy business executive (Saturn) via the magnetic and creative vibrations contained within the archetype of Venus. However, to really make this happen will require great focus, skill and determination. With a little luck and right timing, you may be able to conquer a major fear (Saturn) and tap into a higher level of consciousness (Neptune) that normally eludes you. What may offer you a solid boost in love and money matters is a flowing trine of 120 degrees linking Venus in Aries and Vesta in Sagittarius (4:23PM PST). Another big event concerns the entry of Mars into Aquarius (5:33PM PST) until April 6. This is a great catalyst if you need an impetus to take part in a team sport, join a group project or volunteer for a community fundraising effort. Finish old business during a 2+ hour void lunar cycle from 5:22PM PST to 7:49PM PST when the Moon enters its natural abode of watery Cancer. Literary and film classics top the charts tonight - particularly as the Moon harmonizes with Mercury in water signs (9:27PM PST)."

Cosmic Calendar, Monday Feb 26th ~

"The new workweek starts with an emphasis on domestic and family matters with the Moon in Cancer. If you feel the urge to stay away from the office and conduct professional operations from your residential base, you are not behaving irrationally - merely picking up on the zodiacal energy flow currently in existence. Flexible business conditions may actually enable you to spend more time close to home instead of being a card-carrying member of the 21st century rat race. Old hobbies can come to life while the Moon trines the Sun in water signs (9:58AM PST). Nurture relatives who have been struggling with chronic problems or under enormous pressure. Swim laps in the pool or go on a cleaning campaign in the kitchen. Mop, polish and vacuum until everything sparkles. Mercury - still doing backstrokes until March 7 - returns to airy Aquarius (7:02PM PST) for nearly the next three weeks. Metaphysical, astrological and numerological studies draw you like a magnet. Catch up on emails and delayed correspondence as the Moon trines Uranus (10:04PM PST) - an alignment that also begins a void lunar cycle lasting over 29 hours until 3:31AM PST on Wednesday! Don't push the envelope or your personal agenda too much during this long void time-period. It is far better to complete old projects than initiate bold ventures that could prove costly or take you on a wild goose chase."

From Yasmin Boland, in Oz ( www.moonology.com ) ~

"SKYWATCH FEBRUARY 25 2007

Astro-news flash! This week, we move into the first of the two
eclipse seasons of 2007. Regular readers of this column will know
that eclipses are pretty amazing – if one hits your chart strongly,
life will never be the same. For example (my favourite example, so
forgive me if you've read it before, but it's 100 percent true) I
once knew a girl who had an eclipse on her Venus (the planet of love
and wealth) and she got dumped and won the lottery all in one week.

This week's eclipse is a Full Moon so it might be a little hard to
take for some people. The signs most affected will be Virgos and
Pisceans, followed closely by Geminis and Sagittarians. Full Moon
eclipses can be very intense – but what you need to remember as you
go through the process is that they are effectively about shoving us
from where we are, to where we are meant to be. If we have strayed
way off our path, the eclipse will come and unceremoniously scoop us
up and plonk us down again on the path we're meant to follow. That
can mean that situations and relationships which are not destined
can end quite suddenly.

The way to offset an eclipse is to make sure that you're not chasing
someone or something in your life which has a distinct "NOT meant to
be" flavour. Sometimes, if you just let it go, of course, it does
come back to you. So wait and see what happens, but definitely don't
be papering over any cracks this week. Face facts – it's the fastest
way to happiness.

If you want to know if the eclipse is really going to hit your
chart, go to www.astro.com and click on My Astro at the top of the
page. Then click on Create a Free Horoscope Immediately as a Guest
User. Fill in your details and click continue twice. Then, under
Horoscope Chart Drawings, click on Chart Drawing, Ascendant. Look at
the little numbers on the left of your chart and see if any fall
within 8 and 18 Pisces or 8 and 18 Virgo. If they do, hang on,
you're in for a chance for change. Good luck! And if they don't,
look around and see if someone you love needs a hand as they make
their way towards what will be a better future. How can I be sure
it'll be better? Because with eclipses, even if they're hard to take
at the time, they almost always leads to a better life. The trick is
not to cling to the past.

The eclipse takes place on March 4 at 10.21am. It won't be visible
in Australia except for partially in WA, but the Moon sets before
totality.

Monday February 26 - Moon into Cancer

This week will bring one of the most important astrological links of
2007, as the planets Saturn and Neptune connect. That won't happen
until Wednesday but we will most certainly be feeling the effects
beforehand. Here is what the best astrological software program
Solar Fire has to say about the link:

This transit can cause a crisis of confidence. Do not be too hard on
yourself, although this is easier said than done during this
transit. It would be better if you could take some time out for
quiet reflection and try to gain some perspective. It is simply that
some areas of your life need to dissolve so that you can take a new
direction. There is no need to be self-critical. It is more
important that you adopt a "go-with-the-flow" attitude and where
possible withdraw from demanding activities, perhaps even going into
a retreat. Spiritual studies, communing with nature and soothing
music could all prove helpful and healing during this process,
although you could find that they increase your sense of confusion
and loss. If this is the case then withdraw until the end of the
transit. The aim is to be involved with activities and people who
help to soothe your agitated state, rather than increase it."

I LOVE Anne Ortelee!!! Love her catchphrases: “Do Your Saturn! You can’t do anything about the situation you can’t do anything about. Trust in the larger wisdom of the Universe. Get over the fear of asking for what you need! Do your Saturn. Doing your Saturn will help ground you.”

Weekly Weather Forecast – Feb 26th-Mar 4th

quote:
Have we got an earth shaking, mind expanding, shocking, brilliant and revelatory week ahead of us or what? Three astrological events (two major and one minor) combine to offer us wisdom and understanding about our journey on Planet Earth. I can’t wait even as I am anxious about what will take place. But aren’t you finding yourself anxious too? There is a kind of high charged energy skittle, skedaddle and jumping around the world like butter does when dropped into a hot frying pan!

First up, is a ‘minor’ astrological event as Mercury reenters Aquarius, the sign of his exaltation and brilliance. Retrograde Mercury means Mercury is paying extra attention so he doesn’t hit something as he backs up in the sky into Aquarius. He takes us back over our thought patterns and decisions. He asks us to revise, revisit, redo, research and reevaluate. The world sure looks different when you are backing up and double-checking the decisions you’ve made in your life! If only you knew then what you know NOW…

Mercury backing into the FIXED land of the FIXED sign of Aquarius asks us to review our FIXED decisions about the FIXED parts of our life and chart. Think of the retrograde as kind a giant cosmic TiVO for a very important section of your life ~ what DID they/you say? And, perhaps, more importantly, what DID they/you mean? Quick, TiVO it! Watch what their/your lips say as you listen closely…. Do you still agree with their or your earlier conclusion? Don’t be so darned fixed about stuff! (As if we could be less fixed …) Well, the universe IS asking us to change our FIXED places right now. What fixed place or belief system would you like to change?

Mercury in Aquarius is detached, distant, cold and crystal clear as he soars 20,000 feet above it all, seeing, understanding and getting a clear picture of everything. He surveys the world and dramas below with not an iota of extra emotion. Think Google Maps! You are Google Mapping your life. Mercury in Aquarius has amazing retrieval abilities ~ a bolt of lightening coming down to strike whatever it wants during a summer rain storm. Of course, Mercury’s retrograde means Mercury’s putting together all the various patterns and pieces of the puzzle. He’s figuring out all sorts of stuff as he gets ready to station on March 7 at 25 Aquarius. Plus, when Mercury stops, he’ll wake up last December’s Saturn station retrograde and July’s fire trine of Saturn and Pluto. He’ll see what stopped the forward motion of your life.

Next, we have part two of the trees falling in the forests story from the last week in August and first week in September 2006 as Saturn opposes Neptune at 20 Leo/Aquarius. Old worn out, overtaxed structures will begin to collapse all over the place. Big collapses that change the structure of your life -- forever -- are on this week’s agenda. New visions and new structures are being formed but aren’t quite in place yet. DON‘T WORRY. Some of our firmest and oldest structures will collapse and fall over before us like giant trees tipping over in the forest. Expect crashes. The collapses are necessary for the new to be born. The King must die! The King is dead! Long live the King!

Of course, we WILL worry. We will worry about our tree like a loose tooth! Remember when you were little and losing a tooth? How the tooth jiggles and wiggles as you move your tongue over it? How the tooth is SOOOO loose but NOT ready to come out? How it feels like it is going to tip over and yet it doesn’t? How you pull and push at it and show it to your parents, siblings and friends. They say to you “Ahhh! Yes, it sure DOES LOOK LOOSE! Oh, there, see ~ right underneath the loose tooth is the new tooth!! See it? The new tooth is getting ready to come in”? Well your loose tooth MAY come out this week. Or your loose tooth may wait and wiggle away in your life until the end of June when we have part three of the Saturn/Neptune opposition. Or your loose tooth may wiggle and jiggle until Saturn goes direct in Mid-April. The Saturn station is a great time for loose teeth to fall out! Or perhaps you might decide to pull at your loose tooth by tugging at it with your fingers. You tug at it firmly. Tug directly. Oh, ouch, then your tooth starts to bleed a bit or hurt ~ so you get apprehensive and stop tugging at it. I know, I know, having a loose tooth between now and the end of June is going to drive you SIMPLY CRAZY! However, your loose tooth might not be ready to fall out yet. Go do something else and stop playing with your tooth. Stop worrying about it!

And finally, this week the first of the March 2007 eclipses arrive! The eclipses are coming! The eclipses are coming! It is a total lunar eclipse on the full Moon between Virgo and Pisces. It promises to be a VERY EMOTIONAL eclipse at 12:59 of the Virgo/Pisces axis. If you are like my clients, you’ve already been feeling what the eclipse is about. Wasn’t last week fun? The north node in Pisces, the node of where you are going next, is joined to Uranus in Pisces and adds the volatile, transformative nature of chaos, change and hopefully, a bit of higher consciousness to the eclipse energy. The Sabian Image of A POWERFUL STATESMAN OVERCOMES A STATE OF POLITICAL HYSTERIA is activated by the eclipse. Going to be fun on Planet Earth!

Eclipses work within larger Saros cycles of 18 years. (Actually all lunations do, we only remember eclipses better!) This eclipse is going to bring up March of 1989 events. Think back to what was going on in your life then around your lights, your Sun and Moon, your male and female energies ~ the point of union of your logical and emotional components. I know March 1989 was a particularly profound time in my life. Make sure to act with that time in mind ~ what lessons did you learn from March 1989 that you can apply now? What do you want to change or revise from what you learned back then? Act with Love and hold your best intention in your heart as you work with the eclipse energy.

The actual full Moon in Virgo/Pisces also culminates the new Moon cycle that began on September 3, 2005 when the new Moon took place at 11:21 Virgo. The opening quarter was last June 3, 2006 when we were tested around decisions made and projects begun in September 2005. Now we see the results of our actions on the full Moon. Do you like what you see? If so, keep on. If not, change it. The closing quarter is December 1, 2007 so push the energy towards what you want, wisely!

I know, the week ahead IS a lot to wrap your mind around! Mercury looking at all sorts of fixed, solid and stuck stuff; Saturn Neptune taking out the loose teeth and big trees in your forest; as the upcoming eclipses say review the life events within a bigger cycle of 18 years of logical and emotional development. Some weeks are like that!

So, what to do? Well, first, remember to breathe. Deep, slow breaths. Lots of them. Air and breaths are most important! Breathe! Second, be gentle and kind with yourself and all the others in your world. The entire world is running on frayed, stressed out nerves and pots of caffeine in the week ahead, complete with shouting and yelling and kvetching and giving birth to their new being. Third, remind yourself that it IS a TRANSITION, a TRANSIT, a moment in time ~ it is NOT forEVER!! It is for now! Then it will be gone, fading into a distant memory. Live as much as you can in the moment. Don’t worry about the stuff you can’t do anything about. Focus on what you can do something about. Decide if you want to take action on it.

Fourth, NO ~ YOU ABSOLUTELY do NOT have to DO some thing, any thing! Eclipses give us the sense that we simply must DO! We must ACT! We HAVE to DO some thing, any thing or we will die! It is a false sense of emergency and do-or-die in most cases. Now, IF you or your family is facing an actual life and death HEALTH emergency, do call 9-1-1 and get to the hospital. If you are facing a dangerous physical situation, DO call for back up, get extra support or enlist the police. However, if it just FEELS like you will die AND, as near as you can tell, your heart is beating and your breathing regular and your EMOTIONS are crazy and out of control, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. It is called an eclipse. A particularly emotional eclipse. It will be over in a few weeks. YoU do NOT hAve to do AnY tHinG aT aLL!

Fifth, this why we were building our Saturn muscles all last year. Do your Saturn. Yep, right now. No I am not kidding. Do your Saturn. You can’t do anything about the situation you can’t do anything about. However, you CAN do your Saturn. You CAN do your work in the world. That is how to ground the energy and make it feel a bit more stable and less chaotic. Do your Saturn. Do what you can do and let the rest go. The universe is going to take over the steering wheel for a bit. All you can do is do your Saturn. Ground your energy for yourself by doing your Saturn.

Remember the butter-pillar! Part of a caterpillar’s birth process into a butterfly involves the caterpillar removing itself (with QUITE a struggle) from its cocoon as it morphs into a butterfly. Did you know if you help a caterpillar hatch, it dies? It turns into a butter-pillar corpse ~ neither caterpillar or butterfly ~ some strange combo of both. Part of the process of giving birth to oneself is the struggle to emerge from our own, very personal, designed-just-for-our-evolution cocoons. We are each giving birth to a new vision of our fixed parts. A new kind of vision that integrates what we’ve learned with where we are now. The new vision will mostly be in our Leo part. Remember, when one thing changes, everything changes. That means all of our fixed parts are changing as our Leo part changes from Saturn‘s journey through it. Do your Saturn (especially the parts you like) and trust in the larger wisdom of the cosmos. All things happen for a reason in their proper time and place.

There are, of course, a number of other aspects going on during the week ahead ~ there always are other aspects during weeks like this! So hang on tight! Remember to breathe. You’ll be fine! And ask your angels or guardian angels or friends or mom or dog for help and a hug or two if you need it! You have to ask. That is part of doing your Saturn! Get over the fear of asking for what you need!

Monday, Mercury enters Aquarius, retrograde. Isn’t the view fabulous at 20,000 feet, flying backwards? Mercury has whoosh energy with Mars to help an odd kind of journey get launched. Takeoff might be a bit crooked or cockeyed but it IS there for you to see, if you decide to look. Me, personally, I plan on closing my eyes. I always close my eyes at take off!

Tuesday, Sun joins with Mercury by parallel as Mercury talks to Jupiter. I call these the ‘Ah-ha’ moments. A kind of forehead slapping, wow, I never thought of that ~ holy cow THAT is IT! Aspects like this are when DNA’s structure was discovered, Edison’s first light bulb lit up, or the printing press was invented. The pieces of the puzzle finally work, make sense, come together. You get it! Of course, the Moon is void all day so it could ALSO be a day when you completely obsess over something you have absolutely NOT a shred or inch of control over. Remember during Void Moons we are supposed to kick back, relax, go with the flow and let the universe whisper to us! We are not supposed to shout at the Universe about how miserable we are. Nor is it overly productive to worry the loose tooth. It is not time for the tooth to fall out yet.

Wednesday, Saturn perfects his retrograde opposition to Neptune. Act Two of the Saturn/Neptune journey finished. Ta da! So EVEN IF you GET it or GOT it and feel good, you STILL have a pile of work to do to get your new structure built and all of your changes complete. Mercury’s opening sextile to Pluto and Venus’ aspect to Pallas let you see and understand how the whole business is part and parcel of the circle of your life. Part and parcel of your reason for being here at this time and on this patch of earth. Moon in Leo suggests pride kicks in. You are not nearly as whiny as you were the past couple of days ~ feeling a bit better perhaps?

Thursday, Sun has an aspect of brilliance to Pluto. Worry about that tooth of yours just a bit more. Maybe it will fall out…. While you are worrying that tooth of yours, do your Saturn. Moon in Leo has a bunch of aspects today, including occulting Saturn in Leo. Some days we feel like motherless children. Do your Saturn. Doing your Saturn will help ground you.

Friday, busy, busy day. Stressful, busy day. Stressful, stressful day. A hurry and get nowhere fast kind of day. Remember to breathe. Worry about that tooth of yours. Do your Saturn. Do your Saturn.

Saturday, our full Moon eclipse takes place across the Virgo Pisces axis. Darn that tooth hurts ~ you must have pulled at it a bit too much. The eclipse pulls Uranus into the evolutionary mix as the Sun parallels Uranus in the sky. Virgo Moon moves to oppose both Sun and Uranus. Read my full Moon column on this site for more information on how to work with the eclipse energy. Moon in Virgo has a tendency to worry about things it has not a bit of control over. Just go do your work. Do your Saturn.

Sunday, we rest. We need a rest. And good foods ~ indulge a bit in wonderful, nutritious, and healthful foods. What did you dream about last night? Maybe you can trade with a friend a shoulder or foot massage? Do feel the sense of ‘wow I made it’. Have a laugh or two with a dear friend. Remember to breathe. Flex your thumbs to get your will going again. Worry that tooth of yours (if it is still in your mouth) and get ready to face next week!

Mundane: The eclipse is setting off the fixed star cluster of the Swan or Chicken ~ so one more opportunity for my obsession, that darned H5N1 bird flu, to mutate into a form that can be transmitted rapidly among humans. The eclipse is setting off George’s and especially Dick’s charts quite profoundly so I expect the activity in their lives will pick up considerably. I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to drop tactical nuclear weapons on Iran (and do) with all the triggers taking place in their charts and as the third air craft carrier group arrives in the Persian Gulf. The structure of the eclipse lunation lies flat across the ascendant/descendant axis when cast for Washington, DC. Eclipses correspond with the collapse of kings and the fall of countries. The South Node is on the Washington, DC ascendant. If I was a court astrologer into predicting the end of kingdoms, I would say the king will fall.

Last week, Dick was met with riots from our friends down under in Australia. England withdrew troops from Iraq and sent Prince Harry off to fight in the war. Putin warned us, very clearly and not so nicely, to keep our bases and nuclear missiles out of Poland and Russia’s other neighbors. He then told the Russian military to aim their nukes at Poland. The US Congress began to revise the initial authorization for war to limit George and Dick’s right to attack all perceived enemies of state willy nilly ~ after all the conditions have changed ~ Saddam is not in power any more and those weapons of mass destruction ~ well it seems Sadam must have moved them to IRAN before he was overthrown.

We can expect a verdict in the Scooter Libby Perjury case ~ it will contain a surprise as it takes place on the Saturn/Neptune square and Virgo Pisces eclipse. Personally, I am hoping for a sealed indictment about the leaker to be UNSEALED now that Scooter’s trial is finished up! The Scooter Libby prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald’s chart is active too! And, that cute, teeny, tiny piece of legislation slipped into the Military authorization bill last fall about how George and Dick can declare Martial Law and have the US Army fire upon USA civilians for the first time since the Civil War is getting needed press! Gotta keep a sharp eye on those bad boys… you never know what they will think of next! And, of course, Anna Nicole Smith is getting buried in the Bahamas next to her son unless her mother decides to appeal and we STILL don’t know who her baby’s daddy is…

Also, of general note, the eclipse taking place THIS CLOSE in cosmic time to Part Two of the Saturn/Neptune opposition means we WILL witness a number of our leaders, wise ones, old ones, organizations or countries, and all the various categories of ‘firm structures’ in our lives dissolve, disappear, resign or collapse like a sturdy cardboard box does in the rain! Or maybe merely tip over like a huge tree does in the forest when her time is up. We watched the Berlin Wall fall and Russia collapse at the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in 1989. Make way for the next part of the Saturn Neptune transforming and dissolving structures adventure ~ it will take place all over the world. The Sabian image of A POWERFUL STATESMAN OVERCOMES a STATE OF POLITICAL HYSTERIA describes interesting upcoming events and a busy news week! Remember, being forewarned means you need to get ready to move into position for the next phase of your life. Make way and watch for the new! Let go of the things you need to let go of! Get rid of your consumer debt and variable rate mortgage!

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday Feb 27th ~

"Last night's flowing lunar trine to Uranus may be the keynote to your activities today. Working on a website or learning about new computer accessories and software programs receive the green light. Keep in mind that the Moon in Cancer is void-of-course until 3:31AM PST tomorrow. Experiment in cooking and baking for a change of pace. See if you can make grandma's old recipes tantalize a new generation of hungry family members. The universe is in a quiet mood today - all things considered - as tomorrow morning's potent Saturn-Neptune polarity nears exactitude. You still need to be all eyes and ears to handle the potential chaos (Neptune) and temporary obstacles (Saturn) that can coincide with one of these rare and powerful oppositions of heavy-weight planets. Assisting you toward this end are the nearly simultaneous alignments of Mercury parallel the Sun (3:30AM PST) and Mercury moving 72 degrees to Jupiter (3:31AM PST). It is this second aspect - the Mercury-Jupiter mentally stimulating contact - that can expand your intellectual range and point you in a new educational direction for the future. Nostalgic currents wax in strength this evening under the aegis of Cancer Moon. Look through old boxes, drawers and closets for childhood photos, albums and notebooks. Artistic hobbies capture your imagination near the midnight hour - courtesy of a Venus-Pallas parallel (exact at 1:02AM PST tomorrow)."

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday Feb 28th ~

"Stop, look and listen! Earth dwellers need to gather up extra courage and finesse to handle the elusive qualities embedded in a Saturn-Neptune polarity from Leo to Aquarius (4:01AM PST). While the exact time is known, this opposition of planetary super-giants definitely influences the entire day, has actually been building for a week or so, and will continue to shake up the human family for many more days to come. The main challenge is to keep relationships clear, honest and resourceful in a positive manner. These two planets reached the same precise alignment on August 31, 2006 and will repeat the polarity on June 25, 2007. They can only oppose each other approximately every 35 years. Since Saturn (the material world; logic; money-business) and Neptune (spiritual realms; imagination; divine love) symbolize opposite archetypes, their actual opposition in the sky can often equate with a strong increase in confusion and chaos across the board. By emphasizing crystal clear communication - with significant others and inside your own being - you will go a long way to preserving your sanity and preventing emotional disturbances. Helping you cope with adversity and lifting your spirits are a Venus-Pallas parallel (1:02AM PST), the Moon leaving void status and entering warmhearted Leo (3:31AM PST), and Mercury forging a supportive 60-degree sextile with Pluto (5:12AM PST). Stop worrying about things you cannot control. Keep a healthy distance from arm-twisting maneuvers and ego-driven desires. Release lingering tensions and let the good times roll tonight under childlike and playful Leo Moon."

I just want to say that right now, I hate the Saturn-Neptune opposition, and it's probably because I'm doing the opposite of what it says. Plus, it's taking place in my 5th and 11th houses, how fun is THAT? And I'm trying so hard to work on something that is not going to further my dreams, but it NEEDS to be done...yeah, Saturn-Neptune is probably not cool with that at all.
