Any opinions/former threads/links?Anyone use these in natal or synastry? Any advice on interpreting or how to work with them? Anything really???  ------------------

Hmm well I don't know much about Arabic parts but I do use them i synastry cuz they kinda make me feel better.

I will give you something better.
Follow these steps:1. Find out how far your Sun is from the Ascendant. Example: If Asc is 15 Aries and Sun is 25 Taurus, then the difference is 40 degrees. 2. Push the Ascendant back by 40 degrees.
This is your secondary ascendant.
Push the Sun to the Ascendant by shifting it back 40 degrees. In our example, the new ascendant will become 0 Pisces. New sun is 15 Aries. 3. Shift all the planets back by 40 degrees. This will construct your secondary chart.
Note that your secondary moon is the Arabic Part of Fortune and Secondary Mercury is Arabic Part of Commerce and Secondary Venus is Arabic Part of Love. 4. Mark all house cusps in the secondary chart. In our example, 0 Pisces is Ascendant, 0 Aries is 2nd House Cusp etc.
Use only equal house method, any other method will give 15-20% inaccurate results. 5. Now, keep a diary to see what happenes every time a Planet conjuncts
a) Your secondary chart planets
b) Your secondary chart cusp
c) Your primary chart planets
d) Your primary chart cusps.
Note every event including subconscious events and dreams. 6. Find your asteroid theme (see the list in Mr Hank's post) and keep a diary for Asteroid conjunctions. Primary chart is enough. 7. If you are sincere and disciplined, in one year your diary will teach you more about real astrology than all the best selling astrology authors in the world combined. 8. For the secnd year, do the same but also apply Sabian Symbols. 9. In 3 years you will attain full karmic release and self realization. 10. Discipline is Power. IP: Logged |

Wow... IQhunk... you've inspired me to buy a diary and try that out. I think it will be an amazing exercise.I actually calculated the Arabic Parts of Marriage & Fascination last night after reading a thread on LL about soul mates... and I found that in a previous significant relationship, my Arabic Parts of Marriage was conjunct his Mars and my Arabic Parts of Fascination were conjunct his Moon... both aspects were within 1 degree orb. How would this have affected him? How would that make him feel? Or did his planets activate my Arabic parts and therefore I felt the marriage pull and the Fascination? How does it work with these Arabic Parts? I really don't know much about them... IP: Logged |

I actually constructed the chart... IQhunk, can you tell me if/what the significance of all the other secondary planets are?(it's quite interesting... in my secondary chart,I have Cancer rising and a Scorpio sun... hehe... quite different to my Libra ASC + Aqua Sun... I wonder what this chart represents for my personality, if anything? Molto interesante! Heh!) IP: Logged |

The Arabic Parts represent the "shadow self" or subconscious self. The primary is the conscious self. General Events in life are triggered by primary chart transit but the exact timing and specific nature are more clearly governed by the transit to the secondary chart planets and secondary chart cusps. If I knew this fully, I wont ask you all to keep a diary :
The thing is that due to the unexplored nature of this knowledge, not much info is available.
The discoverer of this system, Mr. Tobey, was ignored by all the other groups of astrologers, except for Sydney Omarr and Grant Lewi. Interestingly, Lewi and Omarr are accepted by the astrological community
because they generally maintained cordial relations with the astrological establishment unlike Tobey! You will find that Tobey is the only major astrologer omitted from Linda Goodman's references.
I am sure she was forced to leave out his name by her so called gurus Nathan and whoever, who had vested interests with an occult brotherhood controlling the Theosophical Soceity.
Anyway, we have much investigation to do on our own. I can attest to the fact that the secondary chart works.IP: Logged |

Hi Tara,
Secondary Chart is a unqiue term, secondary progressions are totally different, though very much interesting. I will give you a simple statistic. If you google Astrology + "Secondary Chart", you get 134 links. Astrology + "Secondary Progressions"
gives 16000 links. Obviously, the secondary chart is still unknown to most astrologers.Just prepare the secondary chart made of major Arabic parts. Also note the secondary chart cusps, they are more active than the secondary chart planets. List your Ascendant degree + sign and Sun degree + sign if you have doubts on making the secondary chart.
