Hi ^_^ lately I've noticed that if a couple has opposed houses together in synastry (for example, if they have Ascendants conjunct each other Descendants, then they might have each other's 2nd house paired with other's 8th house, etc.), then if a transiting planet touches a person's 1st house for example, then it touches the other person's 7th house.. and when that planets arrives in the other person's 1st house, it would arrive the first person's 7th house.. It made me think how important it is to have a compatible Asc/Dsc and IC/MC..
And for example, having harmonious aspects like Sun trine Moon, when a transiting planet makes a good aspect to the Sun person, it might also make a good aspect to the Moon person.. So when two charts are compatible, then they can basically have good transits and bad transits together. Another example is, if A's Sun Square B's Moon in synastry, then when there's a transiting planet forming a good aspect to A's Sun, it might be forming a bad aspect to B's Moon at the same moment. Then A might be feeling great during the transit, while B might be feeling a bit emotionally down.. ^_^;

Another thing I noticed is, compatible houses are also very important as it can help good synastry aspects to be better (like A person having Sagittarius Mercury in 10th house and B person having Aries Mercury in 8th house is more compatible than for example A having Sagittarius Mercury in 9th house, since it's not as compatible with the 8th house as the 10th house), and it can help difficult aspects a bit also (like A having Pisces Moon in the 1st house and B having Aries Moon in the 12th house, since it might help a bit in understanding)..

What do you guys think? I'm still curious of how the planets transiting a couple's paired opposite houses (like A's 2nd house and B's 8th house) would affect their relationship.. Anyone else curious or interested? ^_^

Is this a good example? The ac/dc are conjunct but by house not degree. This is a natal chart synastry. For some reason the progressed charts are not showing transists in the 2/8th houses though. Maybe its the planets??

Yeah this is an example of what I was trying to say (wow Asc/Desc in same sign and also IC/MC in the same sign!).. ^_^
For example, if a planet transits on the 2nd house of the person of the inner chart, it would also be transiting on the 8th house of the person of the outer chart.. Then if Mars is transiting there, it makes both of them wasting money more impulsively at the same time? But if the houses aren't compatible at all, maybe the timing wouldn't feel as good (like having Mars transiting on a person's 8th house makes this person more impulsive with wasting and also with sex and joined properties, while it transiting on another person's 11th house makes him/her more concerned about the friendships and the community, so they would be interested in different things).

In this synastry chart, maybe there is something about the matching between what one is seeking and the other is bringing into the relationship.

(from Carol Rushman)

"...The 1st cusp is who you are and the 7th is what you are seeking in a relationship. The 2nd house is what you bring to the sexual relationship and the 8th is what you are seeking. If you have Aries on the 8th house, you would seek out an initiating, sexually dynamic partner. With Libra on the 2nd you would provide a lovely setting for the relationship...candlelights and music. Taurus on the 8th-- the person seeks a beautiful body; a good physical form. Scorpio on the 2nd, you probably have the ability to transform that person through that sexual experience. There is a lot of power and magnetism that the other person is made aware of. Gemini on the 8th seeks experience, communication and new knowledge. They like you to be different. Any one with Gemini, Virgo or Mercury in the 8th or ruling the 8th wants to communicate first. They first want to get into your head. Sagittarius would bring to the relationship a depth of knowledge and experience, a freeness and honesty. Cancer on the 8th seeks nurturing emotional experience and security. Capricorn on the 2nd would bring to the sexual experience dignity and control. Leo on the 8th would seek someone who was dramatic and make them the whole dramatic figure. They would like generosity. Aquarius on the 2nd would bring to the relationship innovative techniques, inventiveness and uniqueness. Virgo would seek someone very technically able, mentally bright, very meticulous. Pisces on the 2nd can provide immersion into a wonderful world and sexual experience. They would be losing themselves in the experience."

comica23, your subject deals with my relationship directly (on which you were kind enough to comment in my thread Our Virgo + Aqua synastry, page 2 of LL).

Very interesting! :-)

Thanks for the replies! ^_^

Hmm then taking a couple with opposed ascendants in synastry for example (like person A having ascendant Libra and person B Aries), and with a planet transiting person A's 1st house and person B's 7th house at the same time.. then during the transit, person B would focus more in relating and finding someone that fits into his/her ideal (it would be Libra, since B has ascendant Aries and then descendant Libra), while person A's individuality is more activated by the transiting planet, so their relationship can be complementary. ^_^
I guess that's why having compatible houses paired together has some significance in timings of the relationships.. but planets compatibility is also significant for the timing.. ^_^
