Fellow KnowFlakes,

Over many months I have seen many people make their dramatic exit, storming off stage right at some real or imagined slight that other people have made to them. And when they get really mad (or feel really ignored), they make some dramatic posting about how they are leaving forever and will never be back.

But it occurred to me today that I have NEVER seen a thread from someone announcing they were STAYING in LL. Which is a pity, since it only seems fair that those staying in LL get their chance in the spotlight to storm ONto the stage.

So here I am everybody...I'm STAYING here, and I don't care who knows it!!!!

Back to astrology now, (I promise!)

Tim

I could never relate or sympathize with people who stormed off and dramatized thier leaving., by posting.

Randall spends thousands keeping this site up. I resent the hell out of any critisism towards him actually, and that includes defacing the place we have all USED at some point or another.

Tim, thank you for posting this.

Supportingly,

*wink*

Leaving, Joining and Coming back and yet leaving is all personal choices that people make. I won't complain, neither regret. This is an online global community, and there are lot of constraints as well as advantages being one, especially when it is as large as LindaLand. We all have our own basic character, then the emotions we deal with, then the stress and views and opinion, so all these happens. What is more important to me personally is the vision and opinion and character of the person running the community and the people who are the flag bearers of a community called Moderators. So long they are right, and have a reason, rest everything falls in place. I am talking from my experience, it is not easy to run a community with close to 16000 members of which we get daily members close to 600+ (this is in a community where I am a global mod). The same is the case with LindaLand too. The only constraint I have here is lack of personal messaging system, because without the IM, almost everything comes out open on the boards.

But I am glad with what I have seen here as far as Randall is concerned, the moderators are concerned and the vast majority of members are concerned. I don't want to name anyone personally, but there are quite a few of them who are the backbone of this community, thanks to ya'all.

LOL. I love you Tim. That is so true and so hilarious.... As a rule LL has many many people keenly interested in astrology and willing to share personal experiences (I count myself one among them) but a handful who bring sound astrology analysis to the table..(I count you among these). Thanks for sticking around...

It's usually more about the drama and getting attention than it is about really leaving, or else they would quietly go.

Call me kooky, but does Gluacus' thread on "staying", reneging on one of his prior threads announcing his pending permanent departure, qualify here?

Forgive my twisted humor, I'm a sucker for satire.

Well, heck, I'll even stay if you'll have me. Only because all y'all are staying too.

I must say though, I am miserable and fat. Even a little pukey.
Fair warning.

(Looks like I stopped being a moderator at a sort of good time, huh?)
I leave for a few days to try to have a baby and this place goes to crap!
Just kidding, you handled it well.

And yes, I said "try to have a baby..." and not "Have a baby..." and that explains the fat and miserable comment. I was due five days ago.

Did you hear that????

That was the sound of me UN-slamming the door and NOT leaving.

Count me in!

Sometimes it's nice when someone gives a friendly heads-up on their departure. At least then we don't worry.

And then others, it seems, have installed revolving doors on their keyboards. Ummm... except those don't slam... you get the point...

Anyway!

What are you doing?

Unpacking.

Yeah, but why?
I thought that we all agreed
that it was time
for a new adventure.

This is our new adventure.
Staying is our new adventure.

What?
Why can"t you ever do
anything that I want?
I want to be alone.

Nobody wants to be alone.

I do.
Okay, l"m through
with these people
and I want new ones.

Unfortunately, honey pie,
new people are
only new for a day.

After that,
they"re just people.

Who will excite you,
disappoint you...

scare you a little bit.

And, boy, I know how tempting
it is to run away
when that happens.

It"s good for avoiding things.
But the problem is
you end up...

avoiding yourself.

Avoiding people you love.

You end up avoiding life.

So, l"ve decided
to start setting an example
for you girls.

I"m going to try
showing you what
sticking it out looks like.

Really get to know people.

And let people
get to know us.

I don"t promise
to be any good at it,
but I will try.

Because I want you and Zoe
to be better at this
than I am.

I want you to learn
how to let people in.
