Prelude:

Because Pluto stays in a particular sign for a very long time, so we have entire generations with Pluto in the same house.

Sometimes when a generation has Pluto in Leo (and is the elder generation-- say 40 or 50 year olds) and the other has Pluto in Scorpio (say young 20s or late teens) they are in constant clash. This (I guess--tell me if I am wrong) can be attributed to the tension created by the sqaure positioning of Scorpio and Leo.

Children born between 1984 to 1995 belong to the Pluto in Scorpio generation.

Now, read this:

The Pluto in Scorpio Generation

The children born with Pluto in Scorpio might well have had parents with Neptune in Scorpio. That which the parents idealized and took for granted, was forever ended in these new children. There is a collective burden in this generation, a loss of innocence. Their parents, with Pluto or Neptune in Libra or Scorpio, were dealing with the highly romanticized version of relationships, in some form. Neptune did its job of dissolving - now Pluto is doing the final reality check.

These new children are not like this. Their souls have incarnated with a completely new agenda. Their concerns are not intimate one-on-one partnerships, but the world at large. There is a social agenda and consciousness within these children - they are acutely aware of life's heaviest problems, and if you ask many of them if they have hope for the future, they would say probably not.

For them, there are no illusions. Life is hard, staying alive is hard. They are less inclined to idealize. The souls of these children seem to be inflicted with much angst; they seem to know death up, close and personal. Their issues are raw, their pain is deep. They feel for the entire human race, and its evolution - they seemingly are very prophetic in nature. These children's eyes are deep, and very sad - in some cases, even blank and some deadness. Some have shut themselves off from very deep emotions, quite withdrawn and deeply introspective. These children were born old, and wise from early on, with a heavy burden on their collective shoulders. They were born, and in the next breath, they were adults. If one could imagine that these children know instinctively what most of the rest of us just now understand about the human race - to know the darker side of human behavior, having a fatalistic and cataclysmic sense about life. This would be hard for anyone to handle. But these children know these issues in their souls. They will be battling a collective sense of futility, potentially very pessimistic. They know what is REAL. You cannot lie to them, or gloss over the truth, since they already know what truth is, warts and all.

The consciousness of these children is clearly advanced, but right now, their bodies and emotions aren't quite ready to receive the message from Pluto. There is immense power and energy that they will have, and are receiving, collectively. Some are already tuning in - others are in the acting out process and manifesting the darker nature of Pluto, in a destructive manner. The horror stories of children killing children are running rampant in our media.

Please share and talk more about this. This was just to initiate the topic.

And I loved the following write-up too. Give it a read, you will love it too. Took it from here.

The Pluto in Scorpio generation, born approximately 1984-1996, is developing its own generational personality. It is a generation whose older members—teenagers and very early twenty-somethings—are the subjects of much stereotyping: “They’re so profane—every other word has just four letters…and what’s up with all the black clothing…the ‘hoodies’…the dark sunglasses…the car window tinting…the scowling countenances?”

Today’s Pluto in Scorpio generation can be quite off-putting to many older adults. Every generation has its ways of rebelling. The challenging Pluto in Scorpio square to Pluto in Leo (those who were born approximately 1939-1958) means that Baby Boomers—a huge swath of the population—find this generation especially troublesome and difficult.

Raised on R-rated movie dialogue and rap lyrics, the Pluto in Scorpio generation sometimes come across as excessively profane. Most have been exposed their whole lives to a media culture which promotes sex, violence, and celebrity. They are helping to re-invigorate poker gambling and other addictive pursuits. Of course, this is not the whole story. This generation also has--among many other positive qualities--an intense and selfless need to share, perhaps related to Scorpio’s association with the 8th house of shared resources.

The Pluto in Scorpio generation is hooked into the 8th house (a Scorpio house) ideal of shared resources, just as the Pluto in Leo generation embodies the positive 5th house ideals of individuality and creativity. The resources the Pluto in Scorpio generation are beginning to share are their own self-created networks, often connected through digital technology.

Digital networks and online groups like MySpace are a Uranus-Neptune trend. Their use by the Pluto in Scorpio generation aligns with that generation’s emphasis on shared resources. The digital world allows for a shared information resource, in the form of e-pinions, e-mails, text messaging, instant messaging, etc. Today, new music bands and trends are launched via these Pluto in Scorpio digital networks.

A recent New York Times article probes this part of the Pluto in Scorpio generation, whom the reporter refers to as the millennials (a term coined by Neil Strauss and William Howe in their 2000 book, Millennials Rising). In the article, one high-tech company executive stated, "With the technology, the Internet - in terms of being able to facilitate the social networking, which is a big part of this younger group - there's just so much ability to quickly transfer information." A problem with the almost obsessive need to share via instant messaging, text messaging, cell phones, and blogs is that personal identity can become lost. As one young person commented in the article, “It's like, if you don't check your e-mail and you turn off your phone, it's almost like you don't exist." If you go to a movie at the local multiplex, note the number of teenagers engaged in silent text messaging on their cell phones during the movie. The subject of the text messaging is often the movie they are watching— how it’s going, how they like it, etc. Although many adults may find this activity to be a public annoyance, Pluto in Scorpio kids are always connected, always sharing.

Projecting ahead, one can envision other shared resources which may figure prominently as the Pluto in Scorpio generation gets older and assumes positions of leadership: economic resources, ecological resources, etc. Since Pluto and Scorpio are both attuned to crises, we can expect that these shared resources will become important as the result of a future generational crisis or series of crises.

I belong to this generation which is why I was so intrigued and read it all. Have thought about it all since months now, but got nowhere with my thoughts, hope someone will take the thought process ahead from here

this is wrong Guy,
it should be (a whole generation with) Pluto in the same sign

edited to add: Pluto is ruled by Scorpio
here it has its greatest stregnth.
Pluto/Scorpio both belong in the natural 8th house

Scorpio/Pluto/8th house are all one of the same.

Out!

Pluto resembles power, transformation, regeneration, death and rebirth, etc... Being in the sign of Scorpio, these aspects are much more deepened.. I belong to 1985, and in my opinion, our generation seems to be much more concerned to go through extremes and pursue either the truth or be lost. But in either ways, it has to be extreme and really intense, to feel alive in that way. They are more aware about the deep issues of life. They abandon the light and drown into the darkness, not just to be lost inside it, but to find the truth and therefore being able to understand the deepest issues of life. And they have the urge to share what they could see, and want to be understood..
But Neptune also sextile Pluto, so I wonder if it adds either positive idealism or escapism..
But I guess that how it affects a person depends on how the rest of the chart is.

But once I've read something about the tales of the signs somewhere.. It says that Scorpio is the one that knows the ultimate truth, and therefore Scorpio can become either bittered by what it sees, or finally reaching a better understanding and becoming wise and not lost for what it knows.
Personally, the world might have its very ugly sides that would bitter us and dampen our hopes.. but I found out that there are still lotsa things in life that are still precious and worth to fight for.. When I realized that, I truly realized how beautiful is to live. ^_^

*edit*: fooling ourselves, having blind hopes and neglecting that the world could be ugly is neglecting to seek the truth; but neglecting that life still has its beautiful sides coz we just saw how ugly it could be sometimes it's also not truly pursuing the truth, right? ^_^

The article lost me when I got to this point. It has a very negative point of view which I think is more about the writer than about being the universal truth. I also disagree with it in general.

Hi, as a member of Pluto in Scorpio I just want to correct moderator lalalinda so people aren't misinformed. The original post was correct and there are generationS of Pluto in Scorpio between those dates.

I was born in (early) 1985 and have many friends born in 1983 and through (late) August of 1984 who are not Pluto-dominant as their PLUTO IS IN LIBRA. There is a huge difference and you can see it. Many prominent people Mark Zuckerberg (born 1984), for instance, have Pluto in Libra at work very obviously (in the 6th) in their chart.

My parents are part of the Pluto in Leo and Libra in Neptune generation.

Leo in Pluto the wonderful *Me* selfish generation. Hippies that protested against the Vietnam War were for the most part hypocrites themselves. Look how Veterans got treated returning back from the war.

This is how they did it... Blame the soldier for being drafted in the first place like he had some choice in the matter. Make sure he can't speak about it towards anyone. If he even mentions it to anyone remind him how evil he was for going.

Our Veterans were treated like dirt when they returned. Soldiers were insulted, spit on, and even violently attacked. Wheres this *Love* in that?

Hide behind some superficial ideal of love and fight WAR! It wasn't for love. The only "principle" embodied by most hippies was a desire to save their own ***** from being drafted themselves.

The Me generation really thought it transformed and changed the world. Its just like Leo to over-dramatize and be so self-absorbed.

Then the Virgo in Pluto generation steps in and set it right back to the old way lol

I am glad that we don't treat our soldiers that way today like they did back in the day. We give them warm welcoming homes You can really gauge a society by the way the veterans are treated.

I might be these things. Though I wouldn't describe it with such a passion. We were raised exposed to circumstances in everyday life. My daily life isn't a constant struggle. I don't got eyes that are sad. There isn't no personal pain I have towards the world. Not a conscious thought runs though my mind that my daily life is hard and staying alive is hard.

Come on let's be big boys shall we? Haven't we learned yet over the years how to just accept this energy? Refined it to be able to actually be applied towards something positive? Were not in our teens anymore.

Yada Yada... Deep emotions Yada Yada... Intense Yada Yada... Fatalistic Yada Yada...

Those to me just seem to be limiting words.

I got Pluto, Saturn, PoF, SN in Scorpio.
