POSEIDON RULERSHIPS IN MEDICAL ASTROLOGY

SYMBOL: It is two half-moons placed upside down and right-side up, bound by a bar. If one were to turn this another way, it is the sign, Pisces, the fish. Poseidon is another word for the king of the oceans, Neptune. It is about the god being the "King of Life and Death" upon the oceans.

MEDICAL RULERSHIPS OF POSEIDON

1. Often found in the death of a person. It has the power of dying as strongly as the Moon's Nodes do, and of Saturn. Poseidon is about 'spirit matter' and turning back into 'spirit' (leaving the physical body to return to the amorphous other world after dying).
2. Brainwashed by a religious cult.
3. Mental disorders ranging from acute psychotic break, to chronic psychosis, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
4. Mentally challenged individuals.
5. Autism. Down's Syndrome.
6. Spiritual crisis; Kundalini unfoldment (if it goes 'wrong' there can be health implications on any one of the following levels: spiritual, mental, emotional and physical).
7. Abuser who verbally abuses others; dictator (like Hitler), who controls with their intellectual power, the power of their tongue/speech.
8. A person's lack of morals puts them into situations where their health may be in jeopardy--selling of drugs, use of recreational drugs to get a "high" and escape to the higher planes of knowledge (they like marijuana and LSD for the 'trips' they take in their head).
9. Drug addiction -- reason is to escape into the refinement of their head-tripping/mental realm, also to 'explore' the inner landscape of their mind to find 'enlightenment'.
10. Dyslexia.
11. Mentally unstable; prone to 'nervous breakdown.'
12. Cult leader in some rigid, fixed belief system or philosophy (ex: Hitler). The ability to sway people into believing their pabulum.
13. Crisis in consciousness. Can mean the person may need to go through a mental breakdown to make a breakthrough to a new level of understanding within themselves. Can also involve spiritual crisis as well; or both.
14. Stammering.
15. Speech disorders in general.
16. "In their head" and cut off from their emotions. "Head tripper." A person who is disconnected, out of touch, repressed/suppressed emotionally and who lives only in their head. In time, this will create health problems.
17. Lack of faith in one's self. Lack of belief in one's self. This creates low self-esteem, an inability to trust their own sense of knowing and intuition.
18. Criminal behavior. Amoral. Lack of integrity. The ability to swindle others, schemes to bilk money from others.
19. Chronic liar.
20. Creates a world in their head to live in; out of touch with reality. Disassociated.

PSYCHOLOGICAL UNDERPINNINGS OF POSEIDON

1. Positively, is interested in truth, enlightenment, spiritual evolvement, philosophy, the search for 'Truth', is morally incorruptible, high moral standards, and is honest to a fault.
2. Negatively, a person who uses their intellect to manipulate others with their speech/tongue. Brainwashers. Swindlers. Liars. Cultists. Religious zealots. Fanatics of any kind. Their philosophy/way of believing/religion is better than anyone else's (think of Born Again's with their religious zeal, think of Moslem Fundamentalist terrorists, think of Christian missionaries thinking their way is better than anyone else's belief process, etc.) Propaganda. "Spin-doctoring."
3. Power in words. They may be found in many kinds of vocation, but their skills always are about speaking, writing, teaching. You will find them in universities and colleges as teachers/professors/Academia--the "paper chase". They will be in the media as 'talking heads' for newscasts, talk show hosts, etc. They are writers of fiction and non-fiction books. They will be on the Internet with web sites, as moderators with their own unique mailing list. You will find them in politics, in courts of law (judge/lawyer). They will go to communes, be part of a spiritual unit/clan/cult. Any figure that rises to power through the spoken word (think of politicians, newspaper reporters, movie stars, dictators, religious leaders such as the Pope).
4. Think tanks. Visionaries for the future.
5. These people value 'light' which can be interpreted on many levels. All of it is in the MENTAL sphere only. They prefer jobs/institutions where the mind and the qualities of the mind are worshipped.
6. Can be very closed-minded. Once they have their mental construct of the world in place; they usually cannot be budged/changed from it. Opinionated. Rigid in their belief system or how they see the world.
7. Others can be on a life-long path of forever seeking Truth and Enlightenment. These types hang around with spiritual teachers, guru's and live in a commune, go to India, or follow their teacher from place to place.
8. You will find them in any kind of 'mental work' where they are being tested and challenged mentally for that is where they feel most alive and of most usefulness to themselves and the world.
9. Idea people. They are able to make the quantum leap to connect ideas. Scientists, quantum physicists, or any field where mental exercise and connections are primary.
10. On the more spiritual/esoteric side of Poseidon, produces spiritualists, mediums, clairvoyants, shamans or those who are able to penetrate to veil into the other worlds/dimensions in search of "Truth" and 'enlightenment' for self and others. Universal messengers.
11. Daydreams.
12. Epilepsy.
13. Hyperactive. ADD/ADHD.

HEALING TOOLS FOR POSEIDON

1. Nurturing and supporting the use of their mental faculties to whatever capacity will increase self-esteem.
2. Suggesting that they try their hand at writing or taking a class in writing to learn how to do it. This will help tap into their immense mental creativity.
3. The use of newspapers, radio, television and the Internet--all brain stimulants, to trigger their vast, voracious hunger for mental stimulus, education and their own particular brand of "truth."
4. If in mental disharmony, soul recovery and extraction may be beneficial.
5. Flower essences and homeopathy will be of powerful help in re stabilizing a Poseidon person. They are so sensitive that they do not need heavy, gross types of healing tools such as pharmaceutical drugs or herbs. Their vibration is so refined that it can quickly respond to 'energy medicine' of any type. Also includes polarity therapy, sound/music/color therapy. If they do need a pharmaceutical drug--they won't need an 'adult' dose--more than likely, half a dose will do since they are super sensitive individuals.
6. Education is their way 'out' of any trap. Schools are their healing unguent for their spirit.
7. Ask them to teach what they know.
8. Mental creativity which may turn into writing or poetry.
9. Yoga to help stimulate their spiritual side of the intellect.
10. Opening up to receive more internal and external awareness of what reality is and is not. Understanding that everything is 'maya' or illusions. The breaking through and grasp of this fundamental 3rd dimensional reality isn't, really reality. Spiritual breakthroughs that
bring every day awareness to a person and they turn around and use it to get more centered in their core being. By being in core, you are in better harmony with the FLOW of energy in all the dimensions that permeate one another simultaneously. Synchronistic occurrences to allow you to double check and understand that you have reached a new
inner plateau of awareness and connection with the Creator.
11. Moving into a religion or thoughtful awareness much like Buddhism.
12. The movie, What The Bleep Do We Know? is an excellent example of Poseidon in action and teaching us about ourselves, our connection with the Creator and "all our relations."

FLOWER and GEM ESSENCE CONSIDERATIONS FOR POSEIDON

1. Amber--to ground the person, keep them in their body, in the 'here and now' rather than to live in a world of daydreams. It helps 'ground' their creativity to give it birth or physical manifestation.

2. Colville's Columbine--to link the power of living in their head back with their emotions and emotional life/capability via their heart. Both must be in place in order to advance spiritually.

3. Hematite--to stabilize the considerable mental powers of a person. Helps in thought and speech patterns (think of dyslexia, stammering, here).

4. Crimson Columbine--if "hyperactive" in the mental realm, cannot stay focused and is restless, this is the essence to consider.

5. Petrified Sequoia--to ground the person back into their body to make full use of all their talents and to manifest that talent. Stabilizing.

6. Moonstone--to help integrate emotional issues that are usually ignored by the mental construct of Poseidon people. Deals with feminine integration, as well as women and mother issues.

7. Pyrite--to see the 'fools gold' within themselves as well as in others. Grounding. Stops spaciness. Helps to understand our own self-worth and value ourselves for it.

8. Opal--to draw out the emotions and create reconnection with the person with repressed/suppressed feelings/trauma.

9. Yellow Evening Primrose--mental field cleanser; works on toxic conditions, old patterns and tapes up in our head.

10. Hollygrape--for those who are mentally rigid and incapable of looking or appreciating or respecting anyone else's 'take' on reality/belief system. Adds flexibility to one's limited thought processes and helps the person to see the greater macrocosm instead of their own microcosm. For those who have harsh prejudices of any kind against any person, country or idea.

11. Century Plant--to create a breakthrough in the person's mental construct so they can get out of it and widen their mental horizon/construct of reality. For those who adhere to some fixed, rigid belief.

12. Scorpionweed--for the abuser who uses his/her tongue to manipulate, cajole, abuse others for their own means and motives.

13. Yellow Bearded Iris--to release old thought/condition patterns of a mental variety. Helps with any harbored negative emotion that stunts our growth. The ability to 'see' or 'perceive' on a much more macrocosmic level.

14. Phal. Stone Pinto Orchid--to ground the person back into their body, particularly if hyperactive. Brings spacey people back to the 'real' world so they can function fully in it.

Peri, thanks for posting that! I have wanted E.N. book, haven't gotten around too it.
I have H47 Poseidon in Libra 2H. It is at 13*. An elusive Uranian point for me to understand as it makes some exact aspects in my chart. H47 is opposed 763 Cupido in 8H Aries, Sextile Saturn 4H Sagg, Square POF 11H Cancer. All of these planets/points are @ 13 degrees. I've known it is important, now (after mentally processing) I'll have a better grasp as to why
4341 Asteroid Poseidon and the one E. N. is referring to (?) is also important in my chart. It resides @ 21++ Taurus (I read it as 22) If I were to list all of the 'roids and planets I have in 9H Taurus I would list over 25! Asteroid Poseidon is opposed my Scorpio NN. Interesting, as that means conjunct SN; and conjunct Ceres, Mercury, Nessus, Sophia, Herecles. Trine Jupiter, Square H13 Osc. Lilith.

My h47 Poseidon is in a tight conjunction sandwich with my Pluto and Saturn in Libra in the 8th house. It's also trine my Neptune in Sagitarius, which is in the 11th house.

And I have no idea what this means. Help?
