Why is it that some knowflakes downplay other signs. Its a sign for gods sake. Every person born under a certain sign is going to be different because everyone is an individual.
Example. Me and my twin sister have the exact same placements and aspects and we are VERY different.

what do you guys think

P.S. I know the first reaction to someone putting down a Pisces, Cappy, Virgo or Saggy is to be defensive, but then I step back and realize that I should really have compassion for this person because they obviously haven't meet enough people in their life to learn the important lesson that everyone is different. How sad!!
Please fill me in

I think each sign has its positive and negative side and, they're all equally positive and negative. No sign is better, stronger, or superior than another. Each sign has different positive qualities, and different negative qualities that they need to improve. Therefore sign x may be better on a particular situation than sign y, but it doesn't make sign y worse than sign x because sign y is better than sign x on another subject. Every sign has things to learn from the other signs. I guess it's easier to see other's faults than to see your own faults. That's why people usually complain about another sign, but I don't think anyone is that naive or ignorant to think their sign is better than the others. We're all slices of the same cake.

BS everyone knows Cancers are better.

But, good point about the twins, I went to the zoo today with one of my sons and two twins (friends of him) while getting lost in my own world, I started thinking about this place and what would you guys have to say about twins? They have everything the same so why are they so different?

Post of the day, IMHO.

Especially this part:

quote:
I guess it's easier to see other's faults than to see your own faults.

You've just owned everyone who complains about signs (and many other things) with this sentence.

JupiterG, I agree with all of that, except I'd add that people have faults and positives outside their sign and their entire chart as well.

I have nothing in Leo/Virgo/Libra/Aquarius, and yet I've always liked acting (leo) and writing (leo).. I pick on the dumbest details ever sometimes.. it just bothers me to see something like a tie that doesn't match someone's suit.. it irks my vision lol I debate everything, specially if I'm bored and have verbal diarrhoea.. and I'm interested in helping people at large (aqua) and I have multiple casual acquaintances (also aqua).

If I was the astrologer who wants to put everything on astrology I'd say.. I'm like Leo because I'm an Aries and they're both fire signs.. plus Pluto is in the 5th (leo's house) sextile my Mars/Nept conj - showing a like for drama (and mum’s a leo). I could say I have a Cap moon and that's an earth sign like Virgo. Both can be picky. Plus Saturn is in the 6th (and lots of family are Virgos).. Then I could say Libra is my opposite and my grandma who I was very close to was a Libra, plus Mars – my ruling planet is in the 7th.. so you would think I'd have some Libra traits. Then my Sun and Venus are in the 11th – and my dad has sun/moon/venus and mars all in Aqua - so yep there's Aquarius... But what's the point? All it proves is that every single person has indications of every single sign in their chart. Do you know what I mean?

PassionatePisces,

quote:
They obviously haven't met enough people in their life to learn the important lesson that everyone is different.

Lol That’s what I always think as well. I just find it naïve to think that everyone will be exactly the same.. like saying oh Pisces is a drug addict who never remembers anything – but EINSTEIN was a Pisces lol.. or saying Gemini is flighty and disorganized – but Donald Trump is a Gemini and he can’t be all that disorganized.. or Aries is aggressive and crude, but Da Vinci was an Aries and the Pope is lol.. poor pope, he probably knocks all the other popes out before breakfast.. or Libra boys are wimps and look girlie lol what about Clive Owen?.. Or Scorpios are always depressed/intense and insanely obsessive – Owen Wilson is a Scorpio – he’s pretty chill.

I think people have certain vibes.. you can sometimes recognize a sign that is strong in their chart, through their vibe. But not through silly oppositions like.. whether they like chocolate cookies or berry cookies or whether they smoke/drink or take drugs or not.. or whether they have a temper etc It goes deeper than that.. we’re all human.. we can all like chocolate cookies or get addicted to something or yell at someone who has hurt us.. Every single person in this world has.

Passionate Pisces, I agree with you. I always wondered that too, why pick on other signs, we are more than just a sign. Actually Pisces are ones that I find are always getting picked on and it has always bothered me, because even by certain astrologers I feel like they like to put Pisces down in their books. Now I just don't put much mind to it and I just enjoy learning about different types of people and enjoy different points of views because it makes me grow as a person.

I don't think people mean any harm, pointing at others sometimes just makes us forget about what is wrong with ourselves...

Linda explains all of this is Sun Signs.

Obviously she knows best about Aries because she is one-
She says there are sheep-type Aries who are quiet and distant and mind their own business.
& then there are those flamboyant, loud and optimistic Aries who never shut up about them selves.
Two very different extremes, but in a sense, the same. An Aries almost always knows where he/she stands.

For example, I think in Relationship Signs says about Scorpio rising (I have a buddy who is an Aries with a Scorp Rise, VERY QUIET) that they can be either extremely quiet or very loud.
I'm pretty sure no one means to downplay their sun sign it's sort of just the stereotype that comes with it, I guess.

I know what you mean especially with putting down Pisces and Virgo.
One of my girlfriends is a Virgo and is a social butterfly. She isn't super-organized or obsessive. And my best friend's mom, a Pisces. People say Pisceans are over-emotional and unfocused but this woman is one of the smartest, powerful & organized people I know.

You know ol' Einstein loved the chronic! How else can you explain that hair?

PassionatePisces - yeah, it annoys me too when people downplay others whether it's based on sign or sex or nationality or race or any category someone's born into. I guess what distinguishes sign from those other things is that a sign actually is an archetype. Like Aries actually means something, there's a confining definition to what that sign is, while those other categories aren't so definitive regarding an individual's personality. But people don't express a pure version of their sign. You're PassionatePisces' version of a Pisces not THE PISCES. So when people knock a sign because they've known people with that sign who they don't like, they really dislike that person's manifestation of the sign, not the sign itself. And then when people aren't knocking a sign because of particular people who had that sign but just because they don't like the general description of that sign, I think that just shows a really limited imagination and narrowness in relating to and understanding the world. People who can't see the good and beauty and intrigue in all the signs are really missing out. They should probably loosen up and smoke some weed in Einstein's honor.

Jane.. I've never seen anyone express this point better lol

Perfect way to put it. 'Manifestation of the sign' - I really like that.. that's what I meant about people having certain vibes.. you may get the sense that they are a certain sign.. but they have THEIR personal vibe, their flavor or manifestation of the sign. They feel like *them* not like the next person.. no matter what

CF - aw shucks, you're making me blush (and talk like someone from the 1950s..."shucks"? ). I just realized though that I forgot something in my post. When I said that all signs have goodness in them, I forgot to mention the only exception to that -- Aries. I really think the zodiac would be a better place without them.

hehe lol we could always travel to Mars and paint it light blue or white, so it becomes the planet of peace.. and make Aries into Lamb-ies lol

I'll be a Lamb-iess then

Some truth in this.
Obviously each area of the sky that comprises a 'sign' is beautiful and godly and 'perfect at source'. We are 'syncronous' with these areas and are an embodiement of them. How it works it utterly astounding when you think about it.
I often think that because you get massive incompatability between some placings in humans, how is this played out syncronously in the sky. Are there intergalactic wars, or meetings, or discussions, or any knowledge of the others existence at all?
It's not that celestial movements 'cause' events of Earth, but more that we are syncronous with this larger picture. A Physics proffesor once tenited that astrological 'effects' could be pictorialised by what is known in physics as self-nested-similar-structures, where the 'larger picture' is repeated over and over in it's smaller constituents. It was then i realised the 'existential' rather than 'causal' link we have with all heavenly bodies (of which we are one).

Anyone fancy an arguement?
