"The heavenly Archer; Sagittarius, stands with his bow drawn back, his arrow pointing at Antares, the star which marks the Scorpion's heart. Although the true meaning of Sagittarius is Archer, this constellation is usually depicted as a combination of a horse and a man, the rear part being the horse and the front part the man. The man is always armed with a bow and an arrow. The Sun passes through Sagittarius at the time of the hunt. Sagittarius has his arrow pointing to Antares, the heart of Scorpius, the Scorpion. Legend says that Sagittarius avenged Orion by slaying the Scorpion with one arrow shot."

Oh yes, jupiters girl, i know about Anatres, the star is the brightest in the constellation of scorpio and its the watcher of the west, it represents the scorpion goddess Selkit, here let me get the site:

(what stage of your life is this star present? youth, latter?)

i have Antares conjunct Venus in my prime
http://www.queenofcups.com/AR27article.htm

quote:
Antares, Rival of Mars

Antares was the ancient watcher of the west and is now shifting to the southern corner. Inhabiting the heart of the scorpion, the name Antares is almost universal for this star and is believed to derive from the Greek, meaning anti Ares, or "rival of Mars." Antares is a red supergiant, four hundred times larger than our sun, culminating in June. According to R. H. Allen in Egyptian astronomy Antares represented the goddess Selkit, the Scorpion goddess, heralding sunrise at her temples at the autumn equinox about 3,700 BC and was also the symbol of Isis in the pyramid ceremonials.

Brady says as a star of an equinox, Antares was considered one of four gateways to the otherworld, a bringer of darkness, for as the Sun entered this constellation, it moved into the southern hemisphere and the dark part of the year.

Antares was equated with the Persian god of the dead, Yima, and is believed to convey passion and the test of addiction to intensity.

yeah, stars are usually expressed in a certain stage of your life, so if you find out if you have that star in your prime, latter, youth, foundation, etc?, than you'll be more able to understand its impact on your life.

well when i received my own report of it with venus the title was 'breaking down social and emotional barriers', antares with anything has to do with extremeties, and 'placing your skills through the fires of experience'

in your case it may have something to do with the nature of your sun sign, and the 5th house, with a fated manner, since you have vertex hanging in there.

Neptune5, I don't know much about it actually.
How do I determine this:"(what stage of your life is this star present? youth, latter?)"

I saw your posts about fixed stars before, you probably know about them, so could you help me please? Antares conjunct sun (and vertex) seems significant to me but I don't know how to interpret it.

yea it is confusing, and i promise i'll help you with all that i can,

heres the site:
www.zyntara.com

A full Starlight report that would explain it to a t, is $350, and i'm not sure if your willing to pay that much, although it may be good service.

(i didn't pay, i got half of a report, through a guy that used to be on this message board, but i don't know how he did it, but if i knew i'd definitely get you one)

here are the most accurate:
http://www.astrologos.co.uk/fixed_star_reports.htm
http://www.zyntara.com/order.htm

also on the bottom of the home page site of zyntara, you can get a free paran analysis e-mailed to you, but it doesn't do you any help unless you can be intuitive about it.

heres the site for free parans:
http://www.zyntara.com/free_paran_page.htm

like for example, one star in my latter years is Betelgeuse conjunct Venus. the heading for that star is 'the successful artisan: or advancement due to a relationship'. Now i can't get a full explanation on all those stars without paying a fee.

So with the stars, its kind of like, if you want the knowledge and the insight, most of it won't be free.

Look what I have found:

Sagittarius-8°39' 4° 34S (1) Antares, Alpha Scorpii; Mars' deputy; the Scorpion's heart. The Watcher of the West. It shows a fluted spectrum in which the reds predominate. (Mars Jupiter) Malevolent, destructive; generous; subject to presentiments of impending tragedy; rash impulses; headstrong obstinacy, chiefly injuring themself. If rising or culminating: honor, preferment, good fortune.

OK all...check this out. Blue/full Moon tomorrow conjunct Antares...

"The full Moon promises an ending and a beginning; the Moon is conjunct the fixed star Antares, the heart of the scorpion. This is one of the Royal stars, but it is rather malefic, as you can imagine. Specifically, it brings about endings, and has a tendency to bring down people through their own vices. The Sun, being directly opposite the Moon, is conjunct the Royal fixed star Aldebaran, which is not as bad as Antares, in that it promises new beginnings."

For those who have it in their charts, go to Astrodeinst and check your natal chart against the transit. The only weird thing is that they have the moon as 10 degrees Sag., and Astro has it as 27 degrees Scorpio.

yea i know, its a real bummer when you can't find an interpretation, 'cause you feel like your missing out on something, even though its within you.
