Run your chart using sidereal astrology. It's pretty cool. It changed most of my signs. To scorpio.

My sun - Cappy
Moon-Scorp
Asc- aries

Here is some info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidereal_zodiac

I have to run, but I'm interested in seeing what other people think of their "new" chart.

Hi Mustang! I actually had a consultation with a Vedic astrologer (a jyotishi), who typically uses the sidereal zodiac. You can see my tropical placements below in my signature.

In sidereal, I'm a Pisces with an Aquarius Moon and Cancer rising. I can't say that I can identify with that sidereal Aquarius Moon because my tropical Pisces Moon fits my emotional nature to a T. However, the fact that I'm a Pisces in the sidereal zodiac may make sense because I find myself quite shy and retiring for a typical (tropical) Aries. I'm into poetry and writing and all that Pisces/Neptune stuff.

A sidereal Cancer Ascendant may work for me, too, since I'm quite on the overweight side. My tropical Leo Ascendant doesn't really show too much, except maybe for my long hair and my penchant for the theater.

I guess, the more we know our charts, the more room there is for us to expand our definition of ourselves. We become more flexible in our self-perception. We're used to the tropical zodiac, yes, but I think that the sidereal zodiac is valid, too. Traditionally, Vedic astrology which uses the sidereal zodiac has a longer extant history than Western/tropical astrology.

But what do you think about your own sidereal placements? Did it require you to reframe your view of yourself?

Hi,

Actually, I haven't had time to read the placements yet, but I will be doing so now. I will let you know what I discover.

I can see the aries ascendant a bit, because I'm a bit fiery, but I have a lot of tropical planets in sagittarius, so that's iffy. Besides, I really feel like my Taurus ascendant. I don't look llike a taurus, but I act and feel like one. Also, people have guessed my sign to be taurus pretty often.

I can relate to sun in capricorn, because I'm structured and can be pessimistic, as well as other saturn-type traits. But, I do have aquarian aspects that I can't deny. I look like an aqua and I think a lot like an aqua. I have a strong saturn in my natal chart, too, so that accounts for some of the saturn-like traits I have as well.

I have to look up all the many scorpio planets. I have moon, venus, mars, neptune and Jupiter in scorpio in the sidereal chart.

From what I've written above regarding how I feel about the sidereal Sun and Ascendant, I feel like I will see some things I can identify with, but I won't change my opinion much about my natal chart. I feel like it's akin to an onion and this is one more layer of that onion. It will give more depth to my natal chart.

I DO like what you said about it having a long history. Maybe that's my saturn talking, but it intrigues me.

I can't wait to know more.

Well, since I am not an expert with Astrology related stuff, I may not be the right person to answer that. But personally, I have found that while the Vedic astrology can be more accurate since it takes into account various factors in the charts. At least from my experience.

these might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vedic_astrology http://www.indastro.com/

hey,
i've been using the siderial zodiac too....it fits me totally.
all the astrologers i've gone too have used this and they were pretty accurate about me so i totally believe in it.
acc to the western(geocentric) zodiac i have an aries sun and moon and scorp ascendant and according to the hindu (sidereal) zodiac i have an aries sun, pisces moon and libra ascendant. i dont look scorpionic in the least bit...most people think i look very peaceful and have a very soft look on my face. also if i were aries/aries/scorp i wud be totally decisive and know wat i want, which is not the case. i can get confused easily and take really long to make decisions(even when shopping the smallest things!!)
i think it is a kind of corrected version of your chart...dunno....but it is very accurate for me..

Well, let's see ...

Sidereal Sun in Scorpio
Sidereal Moon in Cancer
Sidereal Ascendant in Pisces

In my tropical chart I have a Sagittarius Sun, Leo Moon and Pisces Ascendant (which is the only placement that doesn't change in my sidereal chart). My sidereal chart is very watery (lots of placements in Scorpio) while my tropical chart is very fiery (lots of Sagittarius). I can relate to my sidereal placements to some extent. My strong emphasis on Sagittarius and my Leo Moon in my tropical chart would suggest that I am a very outgoing, confident person ... and I'm not like that at all.

I have the love of foreign things that is typically associated with Sagittarius, but I don't have the extroverted nature. Also, people tend to say that when they met me for the first time I appeared very reserved and a little bit intimidating (which sounds like Scorpio). But I have my tropical Sun in my 8th house which might also be responsible for the Scorpio traits.

My tropical Moon in Leo makes sense because I have a tendency for drama and I need attention. But my sidereal Moon in Cancer makes just as much sense, since I am very sensitive and moody. I am also very attached to my family, particularly to my mom (which is also a Cancer trait, I think).

My Ascendant in Pisces doesn't change in my sidereal chart. I definitely can relate to the Pisces qualities.

My sidereal Mercury is in Scorpio (tropical in Sagittarius). I definitely relate more to Mercury in Sagittarius as I tend to be blunt in my speech and love foreign languages.

My sidereal Venus and Mars are in Virgo (tropical in Libra). I can relate to both my sidereal and my tropical placements (although the tropical seem to fit me more). I have always had some Virgo traits (being rather critical, wanting to please other people, being very precise etc.), but since I have no placements in Virgo in my tropical chart I couldn't explain where these traits were coming from.

Where are you finding your Moon and Ascendant placements? I remember reading to subtract 22-23 degrees to get your sidereal placements. The problem for me though is that I have my moon at 22.38 Leo, so I don't know if it becomes 29 Cancer or 0 Leo.

Is there a site that will compute it for me?

It changes mine from:

Sun Scorp
Moon Pisces
Asc Scorp

to:

Sun Scorp
Moon Aqua
Asc Libra

Like Kismet, I don't identify with the Aquarius moon either. I can, however, relate to the Libra Asc.

let ther b light - Thank you! The warning they write made me laugh: "Please select the options below only if you really know what you are doing." lol, I was afraid my computer may explode.

I have...
Sun - 23 Scorpio
Moon - 29 Cancer
Asc - 11 Libra

It's funny b/c years ago when I first read about Asc's, I thought I was a Libra Asc. It sounded more like me than the Scorpio description. My Scorpio traits I thought I could attribute to my Scorpio Mercury and Uranus conjunction. But now I identify more with my Scorpio Asc. I don't feel Scorpio enough for it to be my Sun sign though. I'm definitely a Sag with a strong Scorpio influence. Moon, I feel much more like my tropical sign--Leo--than Cancer, but descriptions I've read for Cancer/Leo cusp sound similar to me. Overall, I definitely relate much more to my tropical stats. The only exception is the Asc, which I think could go either way, but maybe that's b/c tropically I have my chart ruler in Libra.

I know many people who are early April Aries, and in sidereal they'd be Pisces, and I just can't think of them as Pisces. They're such strong Aries.

I always thought that vedic astrology was more accurate, but I stick with western astrology because it makes me feel better.

Western:
pisces sun, sag. moon, aquarius ascendant

Sidereal:
aquarius sun, scorpio moon, aquarius ascendant

Yea, the aquarian ascendant has always fit with me, and I really can't picture my chart without it. So, go figure my ascendant is the same in both practices
But I sure as heck have a hell of a lot more fire in my chart with sidereal...idk about that. I feel pretty down to earth, but then again most of my fire is in sag.

i'm not too sure but i think the sidereal zodiac is meant for people who live in the eastern part of the world...i think its corrected according to the place of birth....i could be totally wrong, but maybe i feel this because whoevers chart i've looked at (all indians) fit the description of their sidereal chart more than the description of the tropical one....

jane
the warning part is really funny . i think astro.com totally thinks all the other zodiac systems otheer than the tropical one are wrong!!!!hehehe....thats why they've put up the 'WARNING' lol

Please do!

I read about the scorpio placements. I can relate to them, but I have my tropical moon and venus in the eighth house, so...

Basically, it changed all of my sagittarius placements to scorpio. And even my other three planets that were converted to scorpio are on my descendant, which happens to be scorpio. I can identify with both signs, but I can't discount the sagittarius qualities I have, like: Loving travel, being outdoorsy, loving sports and having to exercise to be happy, being philosphical, honest, wanting justice - the list could go on.

As for the scorpio traits, I can identify with being able to read people really well, always investigating, looking deeper into things, being very intuitive and making decisions based on instinct. I also either love or hate something, and can be very black and white oriented. I have strong emotions and am very guarded and reserved. I never reveal too much. I am usually probing the other person - even if I seem to be not paying attention - sometimes that's my MO. I'm always paying attention. I love to figure out what makes people tick, just for the hell of it.

So, all in all, they both make sense. It's like a blending of me - I, like most people, am complex. It really would take more than one chart to define me.

Well, lets see....

I go from a...

Cancer Sun
Virgo Moon
Cap Asc

to a....

Cancer Sun (1st degree)
Leo Moon (12th degree)
Sag Asc (27th degree)

Ok, while I still most certainly indentify with cancer sun I most certainly do not identify with the leo moon and Sag asc. Probably because even with this chart, my moon is still in the 8th and there are still a bunch of planets in my 12th.

Tropical:
Taurus sun
Scorpio moon
Sag rising
Venus in Gemini
Mars in Pisces
Grand water trine

Sidereal:
Aries sun
Libra moon
Sag rising
Venus in Taurus
Mars in Aquarius
Grand air trine

Ookay. My sidereal placements really don't seem to fit me. I can relate to the Aries sun and Venus in Taurus somewhat, but not really the Mars in Aquarius. Oh well ok, sort of, but not completely.

In my sidereal chart the sun and moon both stay the same taurus sun aqua moon which i identify very well with emotionally detached and stubborn.

Mercury changed too aries which i guess i can relate too cause when i cuss someone out im very forceful and blunt. i have mercury in taurus i can also relate to that as well i like to keep quite and think of a good thing to say i like to think before i speak as well.

venus is in pisces which i relate to but i also relate to my venus in aries i would say im sensitive and moody but i also have a mars in pisces so either way theirs alot of emotions and moodiness going around with me. the chase is what im most good at with venus in aries and i can be aggressive when approaching someone but then hide or avert my eyes and act mysterious which is where my sidereal venus comes into play or it could just be the mars in pisces.

i have mars in aquarius in my sidereal chart and i think it rings true more then my mars in pisces. i am not the touchy feely type and i do love freedom and space and as wel as giving other people space too. i cant tell you how many times this has ****** people off.i also have moon in aquarius in my sidereal chart so its mars and moon in aquarius which makes sense.

i find that my north node in aquarius rings more true then my sidereal one in capricorn.

sun taurus
moon aquarius
venus pisces/aries
mars aquarius
N node aquarius

my cancer risging in sidereal is oart true im very shy and sensitive but leo risging is my appeal to dramatic shows and acting i guess.

I know this is a very old post, but I can't find too much on western sidereal where people talk about themselves in it.

I think that Western Sidereal Zodiac fits me way better than Tropical Zodiac.

I do still have quite a few scorpio mannerisms, but I also still have a lot of scorpio influence... I tend to want to keep the peace, unless it's something I feel really strongly about, most of the time I figure it's not worth the fight.

Tropical to Sidereal(fagan-bradley)

Sun: Scorpio to Libra 29'
Moon:Virgo to Leo
Ascendant: Gemini 29' to Gemini 4'
Mercury: Scorpio
Mars: Scorpio
Neptune: Sagittarius to Scorpio
Venus: Capricorn to Sagittarius
Uranus: Scorpio to Libra
Pluto: Libra to Virgo
Saturn: Leo to Cancer
MC: Pisces to Aquarius
